Quoting limited to 4 levels deephttp://soaptownusa.com/?p=6984#more-6984
She also makes it sound like the person this thread is about and Justin Gaston are two different people. I'm so confused.
It's curious she's saying Ben's exit is connected to Gabi's? So far there's no indication he has any connection to Gabi.
But that's the point, she makes it sound like it's two different exits. She asks at the end of the "blind item" if the person leaving is a veteran or a newcomer, she wouldn't ask that and then say it's JG in the next item if they were one and the same.
You're right. Fucking reading comprehension! How does it work?

Okay, so this complicates the puzzle. I don't see how Caroline's exit is connected to Gabi, unless Gabi causes her death by accident. And I am still not clear if Blake Berris is still working or not.

Yeah, you'd really had to have been following it all along to see where we were going with it.

It sounds to me like they decided to scrap JG and/or the character of Ben after they were unable to obtain Charlotte Ross. If I remember correctly she was on The Heights and had experience as a singer/musician.
But KDP (the Eve recast) is an experienced singer/musician too.
I had no idea. Scratch that theory.

The main thing that makes me think it's a recast is that Jason says 'a cast member' is set to depart. For the other two departures, he said the characters were leaving.
Good catch. (unless Jason was being intentionally vague)

Jason, intentionally vague? Surely not. ;)

I'm going to *guess* -- with absolutely no basis for my guess. Just guessing.

My guess: Perhaps, whenever Jordan's story was rewritten, they decided not to make Ben a love interest for Abby after all? That would explain JG out as Ben.

My guess: RSW is a recast Chad.
I really don't want this to be true, but it's what I guess.

A wild guess: perhaps once AS made her leaving official, they decided to end the Abby/Ben storyline in order to bring back Chad. The drama and conflict is there for the taking due to EJabby. Although, I'm still not thrilled at the prospect of Ken Doll RSW. His "acting" is so cheesy.
We both have the same wild guess.

Sheryl's final scenes have already aired haven't they? Or are there more?
Her last episode aired on April 9.
Bummer I was hoping we'd get a goodbye scene with her and lucas
Strange we don't at least get a wrap up scene. I don't know if it's clear to the general audience that was Sheryl's last scenes though I suppose the next Kate/Lucas scene will have her say she got her resignation letter and Lucas glaring at her.

In Sheryl's last scenes, Kate threatened Sheryl that Sheryl would be blacklisted for employment everywhere -- unless she agreed to Kate's bribe of a transfer to the Houston office of MadWorld with a huge raise. As far as Kate and Lucas know, Sheryl walked off to go pack up and leave for Houston immediately. Sheryl even told Jordan she was being transferred to Houston.

It would be nice touch for Sheryl's character if ... later on ... we learn that Sheryl ended up getting her own job elsewhere and sent Kate a fuck-you letter, but I don't think the writers would bother, unless the writers have plans for Sheryl to come back someday.

I could see her coming back down the road. I think she got a pretty good reception. I do find it out that they wrote her off before her scenes even really aired. There is a definite creative decision that took place regarding Jordan's storyline. If Ben isn't being recasted and written off then that would make it even more apparent.

I wonder what her original secret/storyline was?

Even if she got a pretty good reception, it probably doesn't matter. If the writers don't want to bring Sheryl back to the show, then most likely she'll spend the rest of her days in Houston all alone with a hundred cats and being an angry, bitter spinster.

I'm still hoping that they are recasting Ben because that will mean to me that there is at least purpose for Ben. If not, then why even give a brother for Jordan? She might have been better off an only child.

And her original storyline must have sucked donkey balls for them to be changing it now late in the game. I don't think we'll ever know what the original storyline was.

I have said this before, they need to get rid of the character of Jordan or recast her. Sorry but I can't quit looking at Jordan's grumpy mouth and the frown thing between her eyes.

Dawn at SoapTownUSA (who is pretty reliable) is reporting that Justin Gaston is out. http://soaptownusa.com/?p=6984#more-6984

DAYS OF OUR LIVES: Itís bye-bye to another character on the show and the final scenes will be sometime next month. When this actor/actress found it they were very upset but they understood because that is the way the business works. Seems the 13 week cycle kicked in and it is time to go. The story wasnít working it seems and this personís departure will go hand in hand with Camillaís exit as I am told. Since DOOL tapes 6 weeks in advance this scene has been taped and put in the can and the person is long gone. If you remember the renewal party just think of who was missing at that event and maybe you can figure out who it is. Is it a veteran or a newcomer?Ö.Itís looking more and more that it is the end of the road for Justin Gaston. No word why but I find it very interesting that anyone who knows about Jordanís secrets are slowly but surely being eliminated from the show. Chrishell Stause mentioned the story has all ready been rewritten and TPTB are looking to go in a different direction. Are they recasting the role? It sure sounds like it as Stause also said that there is actor TPTB had in mind but that is not happening anymore because they couldnít obtain him so thatís why the story has been changed. Well Ms Stause I say watch your back, seems the viewers havenít jump on your bandwagon etherÖ..Jade Harlow has completed filming her role as Lucasís love interest Sheryl. Harlow tweeted that she is not a contract player and because she is not she needs to work to pay the bills, but she did say if DOOL called her back she would come immediately because she loves the show and her fellow co-workers, her exit will be explosive and her scenes will be with Lucas and it all has to do with Kate and the reason she brought her to town.
LOL. This is written in a stupid manner, in poor english, and contains mistakes. "6 weeks", lol?

That's what I hate about this ridiculous four-month-in-advance taping schedule. In the old days, if a non-contract character that was intended to be short-term really caught on, they were put on contract and kept. With a 2-to-3 week taping window, storylines could be tweaked and adjusted as necessary. Now we lose potentially viable long term characters like Sheryl and Vargas (!!), while characters that don't catch on with the audience stay on much longer than they're worth having. It's so frustrating! If this taping schedule existed in the 80s, we may never have had Steve and Shane as tent-pole characters, since both of them were slated to be short-term.
