I'm shocked with the Sam Strike snub as well.

I expect Roy and Hayley to win their categories.

Totally pissed Charlie Clapham got nominated. He's freaking horrible as sin. I'd rather have Cheryl back. That's how desperate I am for his ass to go. Maddy Hill's character is a gnat as well.

Thanks for posting.

Why the hell are Coulson and Turner in the Best Actress category and Charlie Brooks is only relegated to Villain of the Year? The injustice, as it was Brooks who carried EastEnders through one of its most shaky periods, and is by far the most missed of any recent or upcoming departure.

Having sufficiently caught up to comment on this now I too don't understand the absence of Strike, or the accolades for Maddie Hill. She's good but she hasn't had any earth shattering material yet.

The thing I've noticed about these "awards" is that only January-March really seem to matter. The biggest WTF is the absence of Adam Woodyatt. But how seriously can you take a ceremony that has "Sexiest" categories?

Agreed. I really only watch to see what presenters they get and the montages.

My reaction to current Y&R ...

Lacey Turner? WTF. Is she getting nominated for stuff she did 2010... cause she didn't do anything this year to garner this nomination. Charlie Brooks should've been up for that award!

No, Turner was definitely great during the return and trial. But yeah, it should have been Brooks without question. When I decided I finally had to start catching up on the horrible 2013 episodes ahead of the regime change it was the episodes with her stories I sat through.

Wow, I don't watch the other shows, except for a bit of Hollyoaks, but kinda sad that EE only real win was Maddie. Coulson and Brooks were robbed :(

I can't fathom anybody being more of a villain than Janine. To me, she is the ultimate definition of a Soap Opera Villain.

No Best Exit this year?

Julie and David definately should have won for Actor/Actress, but dramatic performance should have shared the love with Lindsey Coulson.

How Ashley Taylor Dawson or Matthew Wolfenden don't win sexiest male every year is the biggest head scratcher of them all.

So happy for HO and especially Anna Passey. Charlie Brooks has already won twice, so giving it to Passey, who's probably the best villainess now that Brooks is gone, was the right thing to do. I usually vote all HO anyway, so I'm happy to see the show win big.

Of course, I'm not naive. This just proves that EE and Corrie were so shit last year that people couldn't even be bothered to vote for them to win best show. It's also true that HO has the younger vote and works hard to the bone for people to vote for them, putting much more effort than any other show. I wonder if this was just a fluke because of the terribleness of Corrie and EE or if HO will actually be true contenders for the future. Nevertheless, it makes the best soap category less of a write off now.

And I'm still pissed Sam Strike didn't win newcomer, but at least Emmerdale won for the amazing siege. It almost makes up for Dominic Power not winning last year.

Brooks should have been in the Best Actress category (not that she would've won there, but she was the show's lead actress for a good part of the last year), Lacey and her 2 minute return at this point had no reason to be there. Janine isn't even really a flat-out villain anymore, she's a lot more rounded and non-cartooney than the characters she was up against.
