Swap Blake for Eric Martsolf and then these nominees would be spot on. EM had some good scenes, but the scene where Nick confesses to Gabi was superb.
I'm ecstatic that Casey Moss didn't get a nom for his James Scott-like OTT performance. Also happy about Freddie not getting nommed. The only thing I remember about those hospital scenes was that pause where it looked like he forgot his lines.
I don't know what Chandler submitted, but had many great scenes to choose from.
Thrilled for Eileen and AZ!
I can see well deserved wins for Eileen and Chandler. And possibly Days winning either best writing or show.
Overall, kudos to the people that voted!

As for Ali/Lucci, people might be forgetting that Susan Lucci had a whining campaign of epic proportion. She spent an incredible amount of time publicizing the fact that she'd never won, and she did this for a few years. Ali, to her credit, hasn't done that, though people who follow her career can tell she'd very much like to win. But yeah, if Ali starts mentioning it on talk shows or in interviews, it might happen.
This is very true, and I hope Ali doesn't do that. Walk out with your head held high and just say "Fuck it".

Days submitted both of Kristen's failed weddings according to David Michaels from NATAS. I think they have a winner. I thought they would do Kristen and Nick/Gabi, but this should be good for a win, IMO.

Carolyn: What advice would you give on how to select a winning Emmy tape?

David: Wow… I would say go for emotion and drama. If you get the luxury of submitting two episodes [like for Best Show], make them different. For example, DAYS did something brilliant: They submitted Kristen’s two separate failed weddings.

This interview is also very telling and proving that GH wasn't snubbed they just picked a horrific reel because that is what Frank and Ron have always done since they've gotten into soaps.

Early Predictions without knowing every reel.

Outstanding Drama Series
Days of our Lives

Lead Actor
Billy Miller, Y&R

Lead Actress
Eileen Davidson, DAYS

Supporting Actor
Bradford Anderson, GH

Supporting Actress
Jane Elliot, GH

Younger Actor
Chandler Massey, DAYS

Younger Actress
Hunter King, Y&R

B&B won't get shutout so I can see Heather Tom winning YET AGAIN. Or one of the younger actresses undeservingly getting a win. Or Scott Clifton getting his yearly Emmy, although he's the definition of a Lead Actor.

Wow. *Great* choices. Easily the two most epic episodes of the entire year.

Because even though the themery was somewhat the same, the reveals themselves and the scenes surrounding them were very different. Both excellent in their own right.

I am REALLY happy to see not only how smart Days is in knowing what was their best storylines, but also how they believe in them enough as to put them up for a nomination.

This is a pretty good list, I'd say pretty likely and probable.

I would not want to see Hunter King get the Younger Actress at all, though, but since that category is so weak as it is, she probably has pretty good chances.

I thought Christel Khalil was a lock to just win it, but with this list I say Hunter King. Kristen Alderson is probably the favorite, but I just can't see it.

This Daytime Emmy Award nominations are very surprising, disappointments & very happy!

Happy: Eileen D got nominated as she truly deserved it. I really hope she gets the win.
Ari Z got nominated & in my opinion, she was robbed last year.

Surprising: Katherine Kelly Lang got nominated this time once again.
Thought more GH guys would be nominated for leading men category.
Thought Finola Hughes would get nominated for leading ladies category.
GH isn't nominated for Best Daytime or Writing!

Disappointment: Blake B isn't nominated!

I thought they changed it a couple of years ago so the actors can only submit one episode now?

Michael Fairman has a show about the Emmy's now. Eileen was on but the call dropped, lol. Think she's back,

http://michaelfairmansoaps.com/news/listen-now-soap-nation-live-with-michael-fairman-daytime-emmy-nomination-special/2014/05/01/

She said she first submitted the January scenes when she told John her plans.

Her 2nd and final submission was the first wedding blowup in the scenes with Deidre.

Edit: she's back for 3-4 months, working 2 days a week but many eppi's in those days.

Yea that's a relief to hear. I was worried they submitted something regarding the Bernardi story which had me tuning out frankly so if they submitted Kristen related stuff their chances are pretty high for a repeat! :cheer:

I love that Blake Berris was snubbed. :teehee:

I love that Chandler Massey was nominated again, and will likely win. He deserves it, as far as I'm concerned.

I love that GH was snubbed in both the Drama and Writing categories after it seemed like everyone was insisting last year that it was the best soap on the air. Oh, and that one of their acting nominations comes from the actress whose character, as far as I can tell, is the show's most-hated character (Kiki).

I hate the continued dominance of Y&R in the Lead Actor category. The same thing happened last year, and it's just a bit excessive, IMO.

I'm absolutely positive that Eileen Davidson will win the award for Outstanding Lead Actress. I think that Days has a very good chance of winning the Outstanding Drama category, too. But I'll wait to make my final predictions (not that anyone really cares) until the submission reels are made public.
I am begining to think your Blake Berris dislike is a reverse hipster irony.

After Kristen Alderson won last year, anyone of the women nominated winning wouldn't surprise me.
