Regarding Greg Vaughan's snub, perhaps too many of the Emmy voters were unaware of how to enable their television's closed captioning feature so that they could figure out what he was whispering in his scenes. :run:In other news, I'll never understand what Emmy voters see in Bradford Anderson. AGREED! I don't see it either...he is very much average IMO...there are FAR better actors on GH than this guy!

so 5-30-2013 and 11/8/2013 for their emmy reels.
5/30/2013 was really their best (they got their WGA for it, I think). 11/8/2013 - I don't know. I liked the aftermath 11/11/2013 and 11/12/2013 better. The 5/30 episode has the big Marlena/Kristen confrontation...it also had the rape reveal on it.

I don't know if Eileen could choose just ONE episode. I do think the episode with Deidre showed the most range of her acting capability. The viewer got to see Kristen at her worst (Angry, Emotional, Deranged, etc.) That alone should beat Heather Tom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qmNO0JltZQ I can't fathom that Heather Tom is going to win for the third time in a row especially since it was the Year of Eilleen! HT's during the Brill reveal was her usual great work but its the same thing we've seen from her before. Eilleen like you said showed way more range and a win for her would also give Y&R the finger lol for wasting her talents!

The 11/8 was wonderful and it was definitely an "action" episode, IMO the equivalent of the Daysaster last year. Then again, they did win for that aswell that time. However, especially the 11/11 episode was truly superb. In it, it represented all of the emotions there could probably possibly be, from rage to anger, to despair, to tears, to disbelief, to surreality. It was really wonderful and good. Hm. might have more Emmy worthy in itself due to all the drama and emotion it showed.

I'll quote Mitch as I couldn't find this on the Emmy site: - Quote:
-
You have to first submit a reel containing up to two unedited scenes, with a time limit cap of 4 minutes. These scenes can be from the same episode or not, so long as they aired during 2013. You also have to choose your category placement, this means you can submit in ANY category you want to (except in the Younger categories where the age limit is 25). That being said, performers 25 and under can still submit for contention in the upper categories if they choose to.
From there all eligible academy members will have the opportunity to view all of the submitted reels and will select the 10 best reels per category. The highest 10 vote getters will be the pre-nominees for the year in each category.
If you are one of the 10 pre-nominees, you then have to submit a reel containing your scenes from 1 entire episode (for 1 hour shows) or 2 back-to-back episodes (for half hour shows). These episodes do not have to be the ones you chose for pre-nomination, so actors can switch after they are pre-nominated.
At this point your episode is then judged by a blue-ribbon panel of judges having no direct involvement with any of the daytime dramas. The top 5 vote getters (that number fluctuates based on ties or how many submissions they receive for pre-nomination contention) will determine the final nominees and also the winner as the highest vote getter will be the winner.
Well they say voters are people having no direct involvement with any of the daytime dramas. Why the conspiracy theories then? Also no more voting for the final round. This means that technically they know now who's won, they just don't announce it until June 22. Am I correct? And does it apply to the non-acting categories as well? Yes the winners are already clear. However, only the accountants know the information. None of the NATAS people know it yet.

You know, even though I prefer the aftermath I could totally understand their choice to submit 11/8/2013 episode if that was the case. As NATAS' David Michaels stated, the majority of judges don't watch shows. Even for those who have never watched 'Days', this episode is easy to follow and quite impressive at the same time. And it is also very different from the 5/30 episode.

And it is also very different from the 5/30 episode. Yes, this is exactly true and imo shows good thinking on their part. As David from NATAS said, Days was very smart to choose two such different episodes. You can see the action and the cast so well in the 11/8 episode, working their asses off. And then the 5/30 episode is the more subtle one, with really diving in to all the nuances, feelings and emotions that went along with the Bristen and the Nabi/Wilson storylines.

Yeah, I was usually excited for Massey on his other nominations, but this year, he really just was biding his time.
But yet the scenes where Will explains to EJ why he lied about the pregnancy, or when Will was distraught about Gabi going into early labor, or the scenes before Will was shot were not only 10000x better than anything Freddie or Casey submitted, but better than anything they did all year. The only thing I remember about both Freddie and Chandler after last May was playing with the baby and having a few scenes with Gabi. I think WilSon were on about 30 minutes from June to the end of the year. However, Chandler still delivered better acting. Not surprised the father of the Arianna twins always showed support for Chandler, but never Freddie or the dud, Guy. Other than the OTT performance from Casey Moss, absolutely nothing is memorable from last year. People are overly critical of Chandler because he's received a lot of recognition. His natural acting is easily better than Freddie and Casey by a long shot. I'm glad that the voters vote based on talent alone and are not biased or bitter fans.
I agree with all your points about Chandler but not about Freddie. I think you're unfairly undermining Freddie in favor of Chandler. IMO, Freddie is very good when given the material but he doesn't usually get quality material. But when he does, he really gives great performance. He can do light and comedic scenes and he can do angry, he can also do distraught. As for Freddie, IMO, Freddie shouldn't have submitted the hospital scenes. They were moving, but when you don't have a scene partner it's hard for people to evaluate your performance. He should've submitted the brake-up scene. He did some great scenes with JA, JE and WK. He could've also submitted scenes from when Sami was arrested and he was feuding with his mom. Finally, I am not exactly sure why a nice word from the father of Udel twins to Chandler, when he was leaving has to do with anyone's acting abilities. If it does, those adorable twins' parents actually highly complimented Freddie, Camila and Chandler. I do think both Freddie and Casey Moss are good actors. Obviously Freddie has to be good, otherwise no one would've supported WilSon. It takes both actors for a couple to be liked. I was mostly speaking in context of the Emmys in that I can see why Chandler was nominated and could win again, and why Freddie or Casey were not. It would've been great if all three were nominated. It's possible that a different scene would've been better for Freddie. Overall, I do think Chandler comes across as more natural, whereas, sometimes it's forced with Freddie. As far as the father of the twins, I was referring to something I saw posted on here. Maybe he praised others, but I just didn't see it here.

I could stomach GV and BB not getting nominated a little more if were not that Steve Burton got one. In my opinion he's probably the worst actor of all the pre nominees

Blake, Greg, and Casey all deserved noms in my opinion. Nothing against Chandler Massey, but last year was not his best work. Freddie Smith should have been nominated as well.

I guess it really depends on what scenes were submitted. I think either Casey or Freddie should have gotten a nomination for younger actor on Days, but Chandler did do some good work at the beginning of the year with the Nabi wedding and baby reveal. Agree with you. His last six months on the show (July on) of aired scenes were not his best work Imo. But from January through June was very compelling stuff (homophobic confrontation with Nick; blackmail and forced to give up his parental rights; baby drama etc).

I agree with you about Freddie. Definitely his best scenes were after the breakup in January especially with JA at the coffeehouse.
