The women didn't try to drown Nick. (But I realize that it's futile to try to argue this point with the people who believe otherwise. And you're certainly entitled to that opinion, even if the facts of the storyline don't exactly agree.)

How does the facts of the storyline not agree with what I said? Gabi hit Nick with a rock- he was unconscious- Sami said he was dead- they carried him to the river- he regained consciousness-they didn't try to help him up- he "drowned."
Because you said "I hardly call Nick blackmailing the people who tried to drown him[...]" and the women didn't "try" to drown him. They "tried" to dispose of what they believed was a dead body. When they dumped that body in the river, the cold water revived Nick, and they realized that he wasn't dead. He tried to grab them, they recoiled in understandable shock and fear, and the current dragged him under and swept him away, all in a matter of a couple of seconds or so. They could not have done anything to save him themselves at that point, and they couldn't have reported the incident to the police at that point because it would have looked even worse than it had looked to begin with. But at no point did they "try" to drown him. They "tried" to cover up a self-defense attack, yes -- and I'll even agree that it was stupid of them to do so, although they had their reasons (Gabi had been seen arguing with Nick earlier that night and saying things that could have given her a motive to kill him and claim self-defense). They "tried" to hide a dead body, yes. They "tried" to cover up an accidental drowning when that dead body turned out to be less dead than they had originally believed, yes. But they never "tried" to drown Nick, because one cannot try to murder, by drowning or otherwise, a person one believes is already dead. If they had been convicted of anything for their actions on that particular night, it would have been manslaughter, not murder.

It's just a pet peeve of mine. :soapbox:

Oh! One other thing. EJ is such a douchebag. I'd expect him to lie about his phone conversation, because duh. But to turn it on Sami like that? I'm starting to have doubts, but for the most part I'm not expecting a big break up when the Abby things comes out; however, the way he's been treating Sami since January has been pretty horrid, and it will be disappointing if Sami doesn't ever connect those dots and get to punch him repeatedly in the face for it. If she wanted to be with someone who was annoyed at having to clean up her messes, she could have stayed with Rafe.

I donīt see how lying about the photos being of Nick getting dump in the river is worse than any other lie it seemed liked good thinking on EJīs part.

I also donīt think EJ has treated Sami that horrible he cheated on her which was bad but after that he has been a good fianceeīand stepfather helping Allie with her homework and being a lawyer to Will.

I agree with lysie, although I don't really care that E.J. is being a douchebag because I don't like E.J. and Sami as a couple, anyway. But E.J. has repeatedly bashed Sami for "making him clean up her messes" (or other phrasings that are along those lines). He's mainly doing so because, on some level, he's blaming her for the fling with Abby instead of placing the blame squarely on his own shoulders, where it belongs. But he's snapped at her multiple times since the river incident (and especially since the fling with Abby) for "making him clean up her messes", when he only learned about the river incident in the first place because he refused to stop digging around in Sami's business until he figured out what she was hiding from him. She was perfectly content to handle the river incident on her own without involving him.

I'm sure someone who cares more about the couple than I do could point you to the specific episodes where E.J. has made such comments, but either way, it's happened quite a few times, trust me (us?).

I remember EJ complaining about cleaning up Samiīs messes but that was before his affair with Abby I donīt remember him doing it afterwards.

As I recall, he kicked it into high gear after the fling with Abby. He was rationalizing the fling as something that wouldn't have happened if he hadn't had to enter Abby's orbit to keep her from talking to Hope about Nick -- or, in other words, to clean up one of Sami's messes.

EJ hasnīt constantly been bashing Sami for the affair he brought it up once in the fake out but he wasnīt bashing Sami then he just explained why it happened that he did it for her. EJ has been rationalizing the affair in his mind but he hasnīt been bashing Sami for having to clean up her messes by sleeping with Abby he was happy to do it.

I saw some screencaps of KA/Hope on twitter from this episode, and I can't wait to watch it when I get home! I've no doubt that I'll be watching with tears in my eyes... :(

RIP Nick Fallon..

What makes someone a douchebag I sort of understands what it means but not the exact definition.

Gabi was really good with her tears and such today, which is going to make it even bigger once the truth is finally revealed. I can imagine people who are spoiler-free being shocked about it being her.
 So now none of us are spoiler free.

:bedtime:
Bwah :blulaugh: Don't worry :blulaugh: It hasn't been said it's her ... but it's kinda obvious isn't it lol

(p.s. you do know that this isn't a spoiler-free board? :P )

Awww that little girl is breaking my heart - especially in the third screen cap. That's the moment that really got me, and the one I think she win these twins an Emmy ;)
Can twins win an emmy or does it go to the one who was in the episode submitted?
Lololololol :blulaugh:

Yeah.... to me, I think Guy Wilson's hair needs something? A little bit of work, coloring maybe to be more blonde? I just don't know about it... there's something funny with it.

Well I loved every second of this episode and didn't fast forward one thing...I actually rewound alot of it! My favorite part was the montage at the end, SSH, KA (I wasn't expecting the scene with her sobbing over Nicks body), but the direction was outstanding. Episodes like this could benefit from having more than one take but I'm not going to nit pick it. I freaking love how Wilson were at the end and what they are thinking about each other. I was just saying yesterday on twitter how I hope the writers throw something to Wilson NOW to keep them interesting with Nick gone and BAM, I think they just might have done that. While I'm sure I know who the killer is, I like the fact that I'm not 100% sure either. The last shot was sad but damn what an interesting episode. And Julie is FIRE!!!!!!

Couldn't Sami have gone and sat with Allie until she fell asleep? Her and EJ didn't need to be at the hospital.
She could and should have, but so could have Lucas. Sami did offer to take her home, but Lucas insisted to take Allie home with him. I assume it was his turn to be with her, so Sami really had no ground to fight about that. I was disappointed in both of them for not taking vigil by her bedside comforting her like any loving parents would. It would have been a sweet scene watching Lumi attending to Allie. It would have made them sympathetic after they allegedly did to Nick. But it would have been character driven and we can't have that. Sami had to be at the hospital to further the plot and Lucas had to be seen erasing the text to cover his ass.

(p.s. you do know that this isn't a spoiler-free board? :P )

The daily thread is a spoiler-free thread.
EDIT to correct my misconception --
I should have said that the daily thread is *usually* spoiler-free,
but I have just learned that there is no rule about this.

At any rate, nobody has (yet) spoiled within this thread who is the killer or killers.

Many of us are guessing or assuming.
Some are saying Gabi did it. But we don't *know* for certain.
Spoilers haven't yet revealed who is the killer or killers.

The point is that many people who read soap magazines and internet soap forums know that actress Camila Banus is leaving. Casting news is often listed as "news" and not as a spoiler, so even readers who choose to be "unspoiled" would know she is leaving -- and therefore might *guess* she is the shooter (or one of the shooters).

But the general public - if they neither read soap magazines nor read internet soap forums -- probably wouldn't know the actress is leaving, and therefore would be much more surprised -- *if* Gabi is revealed to be the shooter.

I don't think that's true. I think many posters try to keep it spoiler-free out of respect for others that are spoiler-free, but I'm pretty sure that's not a board rule.

They were wrong for not getting medical help. They were wrong to dump the "body". They were wrong not to report it. They are stupid and horrible people.

I was reading about a similar incident in the newspaper a few months ago, minus the self defense part. It was disgusting reading about it TBH.

Yep, and I know this because when once upon a time I questioned someone spoiling something on these threads I was told there is nothing spoiler-free about these threads.

I think it would be courteous to keep the daily thread spoiler free though. Some people just come here to discuss the day's episode and they might not obsessively follow spoilers.
