Thanks for the clip. EJ comes off looking like a father's worst nightmare, he's gross. I agree with you LL, he does look like he wants to kiss her. However, I didn't see sadness at all at the end except for being upset he failed.
Seriously. Today's scenes just reminded me why Ejabby grossed me out so much. Abby looks like a young woman being manipulated by some creepy dad of one of her friends. Ewwwwww
I'm watching today's epi and my mom (who doesn't watch the show) just asked me why EJ was being scary with his daughter.

I think abby looks younger when she is wearing a ponytail, so she should do that in scenes with EJ.

My favorite part of today was the return of badass Detective Hope Brady grilling EJ. Nobody is buying his crap except Sami!

EJ and Abby are still hot and I'm disappointed he didn't "keep her quiet" like he did before.

The continued ruination of Nicole has me reaching for the barf bag. Just when I thought they cannot make Nicole more pathetic here it is.
I didn't think Hope was such a badass with EJ. I think she used up all her antagonism with Will. She was tougher and colder to Will than she was with EJ. But I get that because she's freshly grieving for Nick and is probably little bit angry with Will.
I think she was probably harder on Will because she sensed he wasn't being completely truthful with him. When it came to EJ, it was all about trying to get the info from him without getting played by him or believing some piece of fiction EJ was pulling out of his ass as he talked.
Is Hope's familial relation to Nick and the fact that she's grieving his death playing a part in how she's coming across during her interviews? Of course. Her extra toughness is a defense. She has to look professional.
I like Hope, but she doesn't look professional in this instance.

In "reality" she should not be on this case because of familial involvement.

That being said, at least she's on screen. :'(

imo, Kate Mansi is doing some really good work with this material
That conversation with EJ that she had gave me the creeps and I'm a huge EJabby fan. I shivered and I'm not even sure why?
Did anyone understand why EJ looked as if he was about to cry after Abby left and he agreed with her that he was a liar? I kept waiting for his expression to change to some "yeah I pulled one over on you" but he continued to look sad and about to cry.
I continue to be annoyed at the writers' lack of commitment to and any all characters or Day's audience. Now, I am a whole hearted lover of Lumi, but I have the horrible feeling that ship has sunk. . . but I'm SICK TO DEATH of not being able to figure out who to root for, what couple to pull for, who to love, who to hate, etc. I don't think the writers know if they really wanna run with Dannifer or go for a triangle of Eric/Daniel/Jennifer or Eric/Daniel/Nicole. I don't know if the writers want Hope to remain faithfully married and dedicated to idiotic absent Bo or pursue a relationship with interesting Aiden. I don't know if they want EJami or EJabby?!?! I don't know if JJ is gonna be perma-boring or be interesting again? They can't even commit to what season it is or whether the circus is in town if you look at Jen's freakshow pants!?!?!

And most importantly IDK whether to keep watching daily or begin taking a nap!?

Lol, yep, it seems like they're really not sure of what to do, they're taking a little bit from here and a little bit from there but no real commitment (apart from Wilson maybe, I'd say they are at least solid and married, which I'm very glad about). It's like they wanna keep all their options open and not choose lol.

Elope is the highlight of the episode.

Because love sometimes DOES hit you right over the head...
As much of a not fan of EJ as I am, I will say that I will miss Elope scenes! KA & JS played really well opposite each other (especially with that undertone of sexual attractedness).
I don't think there will be an Elope scene that will outdo the talk in the rectory where EJ kissed Hope's cheek & her knee unlocked. lol.
Is there a clip or a gif of that I dont remember that scene of EJ's
here's the GIF of what I'm talking about:
Spoiler: click to toggle
Hope looked absolutely fabulous in that green dress. The color is beautiful on her. And while I'm not a fan of Elope, that scene is my favorite of them. EJ was positively giddy and Hope was like "what the hell".

Hasn't it occured to Rafe that someone he loved might have murdered Nick and he wouldn't feel to great to see that person go to prison for it? He seems so blase about Nick's murder when there's such a small circle of people who had motive to kill him and most of those people are people he cares about. I would hate to see someone I loved go to prison for murder.
I think it is a diversion, I do think he is aware that Gabi could be a suspect. I think he is talking to certain people and making sure they note his attitude :cheer:

Why does everyone in Salem believe that a custody fight that hasn't even began is a motive to murder someone? And they don't even know about the blackmail. Why do they believe Will would've lost custody to his daughter and with such restricted visitation?
Forgive me because I only half way pay attention but it sounded like they were going for every other weekend--that sounds like a pretty standard custody agreement that most dad's in America have.

Every other weekend is pretty standard and fair. What, I wonder is fair to Wilson? Was the main concern Nick or Ari?

How is it fair for a father to see his child 4 days a month?

I think physically he would have her every other weekend. But if the parents are on good terms I'm sure he would be able to see her anytime he liked. I guess fifty fifty must mean that Gabi gets her one week and Will the next. But how will that work if one of them moves out of town?

Adding another opinion to the Guy Wilson comments: The thing I hate most about how far in advance Days films is when new people come on to the show, it takes them 5+ months to see their work on tv. Sure they may be able to watch some of their episodes beforehand on monitors or if they have access to "dailies" but it's prolly different when you are at home in front of your tv watching the show like everyone else does. There's certain things you see that were choices you made acting wise that maybe don't work how you intended and due to the shooting schedule, ya can't see if newer actors change their style after seeing themselves until 5+ months later!
Ah, but one would think a director could point such things out too.
Not to mention that certain other actors didn't seem to have this issue when first starting. Take Casey Moss, for example. Sure his character has been ruined by the forced worship of the Orange Shrine, but he jumped into his very first acting job as though he was a seasoned pro....a complete natural, who instantly came across as a very real person, not a stiff-as-a-board mannequin posing and mugging for the camera so hard that spitting his lines out comes across an afterthought. GW always seems like he is more concerned with how he is going to look onscreen than he is with the delivery of his lines. And it comes across that he is reciting memorized lines, very unnatural.....and that is NOT good acting

ETA: and while I agree with james that the recast could have been worse, I think it certainly could have been a hell of alot better. I completely relate to Lil about Guy ruining Will for me. I just don't like him, and that IS a damn shame, because I love the character and was invested in him and his relationships until Guy came along :-/ (and it probably doesn't help any that I don't find him remotely attractive either, lol)
:hail:

Totally agree. GW looks soulless to me.

I know a couple who does 50/50 because they both have legal backgrounds, they are pretty anal about it. They split the week in half, they live in the same town.

It might not be fair but it's standard. I absolutely get why Will wouldn't like it but the way everyone gasps in horror makes it sound like she's going for full custody or something crazy.

People SHOULD gasp in horror at such an archaic "standard". Every other weekend is a mere 4 days short of full custody "or something crazy" like that.

And if they can't make up their mind and commit to a couple or a story direction, then why should we commit an hour a day to this mess? That's where I'm at with the show at this point.

Ejami are together, but not really because both parties aren't being honest.
Ericole are together, but not really because both parties aren't being honest.
Jafe are together, but not really because both parties aren't being honest.
Dannifer are together, but won't be for long because there is nothing more we want to watch than more Dannifer angst! WooHoo!

I can't even be mad at him for grabbing and manhandling women because I think that's a direction the writers and the directors choose for their male characters (see also, Eric and EJ). Maybe they think manhandling female characters makes their male characters come off tough, manly and dripping with testosterone. Who knows!
I'm late to the party, but I agree that the writers/directors probably think the grabbing and manhandling makes the men look "sexy" and masculine. I guess female viewers are supposed to swoon and say "Oh, my, look how strong he is!"

Days, this is 2014. A lot of women are not attracted to this kind of behavior.

My grandma thinks the people who write for soaps are the same writers who write Harlequin rape books as romances.

That's how I feel watching EJ and Sami together. ;)
Touche!
Ejabby to me is gross. EJ's head always looks so big next to Abigail's. And i couldnt tell if he was being creepy or sexy today - his penis seemed confused
His hand looked huge against the side of her face.It reminded me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry went on a date with a woman but got turned off because she had "man hands".He needs to keep his hands lower when he is touching Abby. :)
