So true.....we are way overdue for some John and Marlena spoilers. It 's never been easy being a J&M fan but this is ridiculous!!! Come on....you have 2 of the most popular actors with amazing chemistry and we never see them together!
Yep. I was never a J&M fan, but even I find the way they are treated deplorable. Dee and Drake deserve better than this. So do their fans.
The Hope and Aiden build up (my reason for watching), seems to have also been given the shaft in favor of this asinine 'murder mystery'. (I like Blake Berris but I never much cared for Nick Fallon. I could care even LESS about who offed him.) And when Hope and Aiden are in spoilers and/or onscreen, I'm lucky if they're on more than 2 days a week, with more than 5 minutes of airtime.
The only part of the murder mystery I'm liking is seeing Hope. But yeah, I'm really annoyed that the Hope/Aiden story has practically ground to a halt this sweeps month. I don't mind the story moving slowly but 5 minutes of airtime a week is ridiculous. Why hire Daniel Cosgrove, a very good actor, and then hardly use him? But of course we're getting Daniel EJ, and Sami every fucking day. JJ/Paige and Ben/Abigail are both awful. Though to be fair I am willing to see what the new actor brings to Ben. If he and Abigail have chemistry then I might like them.
If Hope/Aiden are only getting 5 minutes airtime a week, has John even had 5 minutes airtime total since he came back? Why bother to bring him back and then we never see him? I'm not even a big Jarlena fan, but I would much rather see John and Marlena working their way back together than yet another episode of Jordon and Ben worrying about their past. The only way they could possibly make Jordon interesting to me now is to make her Cassie after plastic surgery. I'd rather they had sent Jordon away and kept Sheryl. Sheryl and Lucas were way more entertaining than Jordon/Rafe.
I'm still hoping for some good stuff in the murder mystery but so far except for Blake Berris's performance, it's been a lousy May sweeps.
Eric has always made it plain that the church was his first choice and he chose Nicole because he could no longer be a priest. Sorry but she deserves better than that kind of man. And he is just like the rest of his family, judgemental hypocrites. She deserves some happiness..sick and fucking tired of the writing for her.
Yes. Eric loved being a priest. He had underlying feelings for Nicole, but he made no secret that he loved his vocation. Still, he could have decided to leave the priesthood on his own. Sadly, he wasn't given that choice. Nope. His choices were taken away. First by the bitch that raped him, then by the bitch that covered it up. Judgemental hypocrite? Really?
Eric is absolutely a judgmental hypocrite. He, a supposed "man of God" actually told Nicole, while he was falsely accusing her of rape, that NOT EVEN GOD WOULD FORGIVE HER. If that's not being a judgmental hypocrite, nothing is. He has no business being in any sort of religious profession with THAT attitude
And she forgave him for that, frankly blasphemous, statement. If he can't understand and forgive her for being insecure, then he can hit the fucking road and go not have premarital sex with the Shrew (didn't MR leave the last time because Hubby did not approve of her being in non-marital sex scenes? Oh, the irony...haha!)
It must be because ED is returning--that's the only thing that makes sense to me--that they turned Nik from desperate to provide Eric's proof of innocence so he could make the informed choice between her and God to suddenly desperate NOT to. They also turned the hypocrite from saying he chose Nicole anyway to saying he did it because the Catholic church deems him unworthy to be a priest because he had sex with a grown unmarried woman, no matter what the circumstances!

I know he was wrong in his accusations. But can you honestly say that if you honestly thought somebody done such a vile thing to you that you could think anyone with any kind of conscience at all would be all that forgiving. He was speaking out of haste as we've all done. That "judgemental hypocrite" was not going to turn her into the police. He still loved her enough not to want her to go to jail.

I don't think the Hope/Aiden story got stopped during sweeps at all. Wee've seem them having issues with planning the gala - first the dominos convention dude, then Mrs. Van Hopper. And we even got Aiden coming to see Hope and offering his assistance with anything, if needed, after Nick's death. I don't mind the speed of this story. Neither Hope nor Aiden are in a position where they're ready to be in a relationship with anyone, so increasing their gala planning airtime wouldn't really make the story move any faster. Aiden's still dealing with what happened to his wife, and Hope is still technically married. I'm quite enjoying seeing their friendship develop organically (minus the somewhat contrived 180 Aiden did after The mugger situation with Chase. lol).

Exactly, Eric never once outed to anyone except Father Matt that he thought Nicole raped him. He kept that between them. But I think all judgements against Eric should be held until we see how he handles this current situation with Nicole. I think he is the right man for her, and he will surprise a lot of people when the truth comes out. I don't think his reaction will be that bad. He will be hurt, but he will forgive her.

Yes, I know if I thought someone had violated me, I would probably say things like,"I'll never forgive you; you're the worst person in the world". But even I, a layperson, would never dare presume to say that "even God won't forgive you".
Perhaps the writers did that on purpose so that Eric will be forgiving this time, knowing what a terribly wrong thing that was to say to anyone--as a priest or otherwise? After all, that IS what sincerely religious people do when sincerely asked: forgive.
Nah. They just added it for shock value. That seems to be the latest MO (Pigsex and vomiting, Ejabigate). I've lost the real interest I had in their story before. AZ is so good, and they keep screwing her character over.
Eric deeply regretted the things he said to Nicole. And he was absolutely sincere in asking for her forgiveness and grateful and humble about her granting him forgiveness. He knew, even though she had done so, that she was still suffering from the things he'd said to her, and he was vocal about his own guilt and pain over what he'd done.
I think it's okay for characters to make terrible mistakes, to do and say terrible things. That's just human. It's what they do afterward that counts, and Eric was diligent about trying to right the wrong he did to her. And I think he's indicated that he loves her and does value a life with her above even the church, because whenever he's had to make a decision so far, she's ultimately been his choice.
Now it's Nicole's turn. What she does next, and how Eric responds, will determine where their story goes.
Didn't he tell the monk that he loved Nicole more than anyone else including his family? He also told his family the same thing. He showed her that he would choose her over anyone. I still don't understand why she feels insecure.
Nicole's motivation never made sense to me, specially since she went in the journey to find the evidence with the full knowledge that it will help Eric clear his name and keep his job.
When he has the conversation with Nicole, he invariably adds some little comment about the priesthood, though.
Spoiler: click to toggle
-- Around the 20 sec mark, he says "I resigned from the Church because I can't serve the way I want to with this dark cloud hanging over my head."
Spoiler: click to toggle
Around the 5:30 mark they talk about the priesthood again.
There are other examples too.
I don't know. It makes no sense to me that, after a year of redemption, she would face off with Chyka and then destroy the evidence.
Sure. It was a big part of his life, and there were other things that influenced his decision. That doesn't make her a consolation prize.
Really? I think that's exactly what it makes her. I also don't see this great love between them nearly as much as I saw Eric's vocation in being a priest. To me it was clear as day from all the subtext that the priesthood is what really wants.

He chose her before they'd given up on finding the evidence though. Eh. It doesn't much matter, lol.
Exactly. Its called reaping what you sow. She made all the decisions rwgarding keeping the truth from Eric. From the evidence hiding,to telling lies to save her own skin. Then she has the nerve to get snotty with Marlena for suspecting shes hiding something, and angry with Daniel for warning her to tell Eric the truth. :toetap: Nicole is rivaling ej and sami in the annoying ass department.
That's not going to be a problem. They will continue to be the boring token couple just like Abe and Lexie was.
Yes. By all means, I wish the writers would completely trash the couple and characters like they did with EJami, Nabi and Brady and Kristen. The couple won't mean shit anymore but at least they'll be experiencing insane and mindless drama.

I'm already wishing for Summer to be over and done with. LOL If this is May Sleeps, I highly doubt June - August will be any better. :yawnz:
