Days writing a couple that explores all their options and makes decisions together? Ha! The only couple that even comes close to that kind of writing is EJami. I agree with you that it would have been a refreshing change, but I actually *like* the story for what it's worth. The set-up was perfect: Nicole finally, finally gets Eric back and he wants to leave the church to be with her. But of course, she finds the proof that could clear Eric's name and all of her past insecurities come back to haunt her, and she keeps the evidence a secret. It's exactly what I expected from Nicole. But the minute Dannifer/Liam joined the story is the minute it all got shot to hell. Daniel is my main problem with the show, and he's my main problem with this story.
Had I seen it told that way, I *maybe* would've appreciated and liked it as well. It just happened so fast. Ya have a year or more of Nicole really changing and then a few sloppy episodes of her with the evidence then destroying it.....twice, mind you. Had I seen where Nicole was doubtful and afraid, etc...maybe I could buy it. But those layers weren't presented to me thus making me not buy into it. But hey....I get it. I just don't like it after the progression of the character.
I agree. It was random for them to have Nicole go through this year-long redemption arc for her to just toss it all away. I totally get that. Which is why I agree that they should have played the evidence thing out a little more slowly as opposed to the way they're DRAGGING it on and on now. I also think this is why Nicole doesn't work in the "good girl" role. It's just not who she's been in her 15-year history with the show. That said, I think it is refreshing to see the good qualities in Nicole and it is indeed tiresome to have to start to witness her "annual humiliation" as someone said up-thread. Because Nicole is my favorite character, you can see why this current story arc she's involved in is rather frustrating, lol. She became one of my all time favorite characters too and I never thought I'd say that. Her first run was alright but it was about 6 months into her second run where I fell in love! Ari grew so much as an actress and she is simply flawless in her scenes. I didn't want Nicole to become some saved Christ loving minister, but I liked how she had an evolution. She evolved and it was a decent change of pace that I enjoyed. Her going back to her old ways....I'm down with that when it's needed but, to me, I just didn't find it needed in this scenario. It's not the road I would've take. But what do I know? Lol. I am, regardless, hoping the writers will rescue this drowning man of a plot and fix it so we can move on to the inevitable next obstacle.

You know what would have even made a world of difference in the Ericole story? If Rafe had been the one to bust Nicole instead of Daniel. He would have gone to her without being judgmental while at the same time urging Nicole to do the right thing. And since Rafe is so much more tolerable (imo) than Daniel and has a better, more meaningful friendship with Nicole, I think that would have been a MUCH better alternative.
I think it would have been identical to what's airing.
I don't. This is just my opinion, but I think Rafe is much more charismatic and Galen Gering clicks with Ari Zucker better than Shawn Christian does. If I had to pick the lesser of two evils in this scenario, it would be Rafe.
I think Rafe/Nicole's friendship is even more ridiculous than Daniel/Nicole's. Really? Why is that? (Not being sarcastic, totally want to know because I think the EXACT opposite and I'm just curious)

Same! I want them to fix the story before they ruin Ericole for good, because I think they are truly the best couple this show has produced in at LEAST ten years.

Actor wise, IMO, there's not much difference, but character-wise I think Rafe/Nicole's friendship is even more ridiculous than Daniel/Nicole's. I kinda have to agree here. While GG and AZ may have a certain nice chemistry at times, that doesn't excuse the fact that it's a great deal silly that the two characters would be friends. Maybe I interpret this show differently than others but it's really weird that they'd even be friendly.

Really? Why is that? (Not being sarcastic, totally want to know because I think the EXACT opposite and I'm just curious) Mostly because of the baby switch. For me, it's like Rafe and EJ having a friendship. After the way he went after her, I just can't buy it from his end. And on her end, I just don't even see why she'd find him to be a fun person...because he's not. I don't like Daniel/Nicole either, but at least their history isn't QUITE as sorted.

It's always judge Nicole Day every day on Days like it's irritating because nobody on this show is a Saint especially not big mouth over loud ranting Sami my God this is what I hate about her character the most & Alison S fans swear she's such the best actress compare to Ari Zucker NOT :tounge:

And I thought their friendship was incredibly contrived when it began after EJ and Sami's affair was exposed. Unfortunately, almost all of the friendships on this show are contrived so I take what I can get. The more Rafe and Nicole interacted, the more I liked their friendship. I feel like Daniel/Nicole is contrived because Daniel is typically unforgiving of ANYone who interferes with his precious Jennifer's happiness (see: Theresa). So that has always been a major WTF for me.

People's reactions about EJami's conversation about Will should be interesting...
Apparently we are supposed to forget Ej's other shooting. That conversation was just a segue into her bizarrely hypocritical conversation with Eric in which the part of EJ will be portrayed by Nicole! Soooooo bizarre! How on earth she can still believe that EJ's changed is beyond me.
Dear Soapgods,
Please - oh please could you allow Sami to be running one giant long con on the dunderheads in Salem if for no other reason to redeem the way she's been written as a pod person/ Stepford wife for the last 8 years? Thank you.

How many times has Elvis been shot? I swear everyone in Salem has either been shot or has shot someone or both.
I think its unfair how ej is still alive when nick takes a bullet for the first time and dies. I think it was the payload of lead in one fatal swoop that did him in and not the number of separate shootings - like EJ. Although I'm still unsure how he survived that bullet to the noggin delivered by Samanther. ;)

Haha! Yeah. Bricole are awesome together, but they are probably the king of contrived. And are you referring to AngrySex? That's the only belt scene I remember.
I like to think of it as the foreplay to "offshore accounts are the worst crime ever" sex LOL! That is too funny. And wasn't that the big tip-off of Brady's "dark" phase that lead to burying Vivian alive? Not Nicole kidnapping his sister's baby, not Nicole framing Arianna for the muggings... Nicole having a secret bank account. That's what lead to Brady's demise.

they sure are dropping Jensen's name a whole helluva lot
I totally SHOULD remember (and care), but is Jensen dead? Did Hope kill him? I'm TOTALLY drawing a blank. Yes, Hope killed him.
