Thank you lovely people. I can always count on you to let me know if an episode is worth watching. Your summary and commentary are so much more entertaining than the show! |

No this is why Nicole can't carry a child to full term. Spoiler: click to toggle If it had been the gun shot it would have been Sami's fault. So it's the scarring on the healing tissue which is why she can't have a child which makes it Nicole's fault since she's the one who attacked Sami. # ItsNeverSami'sfault. |

About a year ago I posted that Days was capturing my attention, truly paying off. I still believe that- and am surprised. Any soap vet is familiar with the head-scratching wrongness of characterizations, the unconscionable twists of plot and personality, the neglect of history. Those are, in significant part, what has delegated the genre to yesteryear, and foretold the end of classics like... well, name your favorite show. But Days- despite some of the distressing ratings- is- at least to me (& some storylines that just don't work & never will - Daniel Jonas- shoved down our collective throats as a hero- why?) at the head of the pack. The other soaps simply dumbed down so much to become unwatchable. Yet Days continues the thread of family-oriented stories that are soaps bread and butter- & their greatest strength. Multi-generational families interact. Characters once vital are mentioned. Snippets of past history (Jessica- who was huge in her day- & her mental illness) integrated with modern events. The Horton family house still stands- and is often a focal point of activities. One aspect that I think Days must do better than any other soap is combine the traditional (the unannounced visit at home) with contemporary technology (texting, other social media, etc.). Pretty good for a genre that is often relegated to the past. Some of the things I have liked in the last year are: of course Will & Sonny, but also their "unconventional" relationship with Gabi (which means disagreement & difference of opinion=conflict=interesting), Abigail's affair with EJ ( every soap must have passionate, secret affairs- & this one fit the bill & then some). It was an understandable one- reminding the viewer of EJ's roots, broadening Abigail- and it is difficult to believe other daytime soaps were showing that kind of electricity. So far, I have been gladdened by the writers not making it a grand love- but an affair- the kind that causes guilt-complications, character growth- the very things that happen every day- and that only soaps can do so well. Blake Berris's last scenes were stellar. His storyline was not it all it could have been- imagine Nick dealing with his present and past (including his mother's mental illness, which they could have shown in flashback, or alluded to- he certainly had the ability & then some, making him a true anti-hero)- but it was sufficiently good and having a Days veteran- Julie- witness his last moments absolutely telegraphs that soaps have their own niche- and that they can still work. So many soaps took shortcuts until they obliterated themselves, but here is Julie, a character in 1965, comforting her cousin in 2014- 49 years later. The scenes of Hope, Maggie, Julie and Gabi with the deceased Nick were a highlight of current soap operas The acting, dialogue, directing and music re-emphasizing everything that is indelible about the cultural importance of the soap. The older relatives (Maggie: "my angel..." Julie: Susan Seaforth Hayes- who "gets" soap acting better than anyone- "God give you peace...") & Gabi, with her youthful memories. It was stunning how good it was. I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop- it always has- but even it does, Days is doing a good job now. |

Watching lint form in my dryer would be more interesting than the Ericole/Daniel show. Someone wake me up when they've finished destroying Nicole at the altar of Dannifer... AGAIN. |

I can't remember how long ago, pre or post wedding, but Victor offered to "help" Sonny with his Nick problem. So I thought it was great that the writers didn't forget that. I loved it when Victor said, "The next time you want a man murdered you come to me." |

Brady gave me life today. He was Nicole's the truth teller LOL. Brady finally got interesting as he was telling hypocrite nicole a few hard to hear truth. Nicole has no business calling anyone a skank let alone Teresa who has only slept with one person in Salem unlike Nicole who is like the 7/11 of Salem always open for business. I thought it was stupid that Will rushed to the police station to confess for a crime he did not commit without even making sure that Sony is indeed guilty. Did Will even think about his daughter? I know it is supposed to be romantic, but it came across like Will is putting Sony before his daughter...again. I felt the same way when Sami shot Bernardi and when she helped Gabi cover up Nick's 'non murder'. Their heart might be in the right place, but it is stupid and reckless. I enjoyed Ejill scenes. I like their friendship. I am enjoying knowing it probably won't last after the ejabby hookup is exposed. I was taken aback when Will read Ej's private text. That is beyond rude LOL. What makes him think he has the right to read someone else private messages? Will is indeed his mother's son LOL. That is a very Sami thing to do. I am not surprised that Sami was being so supportive of Lucas because she truly cares about him. Sami saying that Lucas willing to kill for Will was sweet was funny, but it also shows how twisted Sami's moral compass is LOL. I am still puzzled by Sami's behavior toward Ej. I am now convinced she knows about Ejabby, but if she does she is doing a great job of hiding it. She is still kissing him, has no plan to leave and she is still planning to marry him. Makes me wonder what she is planning. I think she is gunning for revenge, but I don't think she is planning to give up her man or the family they have built. She is most likely will torture Ej until he learns his lesson. |

Sonny alluded to his family's dark past when he first arrived. It would be a good future plot line if they expanded on that and somehow the trouble Wilson got in was because of Sonny's past/family, not Will's. |

I agree that Will should have discussed his decision to confess with Sonny BEFORE he went to the police but he suspects Sonny did shoot Nick. Apparently he does not think Gabi could possibly be guilty but he should suspect her as well. |
