The problem imo is that "this part of the story" IS the story! A murder mystery could have weeks or months of clues and dead ends. Instead they kind of just gave up right after it started. If they're looking for a long term umbrella story, a murder mystery and then drawn out trial works perfectly. Not sure we're going to have either one of those. Also, I know this wasn't mentioned in your post, but the whole "fake mystery air" to the scenes of the past week or so was soooo annoying. Like they tried to give this whole creepy tone to the scenes, and then suddenly, it's like, poof! It's over! Like they rewatched the SSK stuff and then just decided to pick and choose some elements of it. |

Good, because she did. This outcome was obvious from the day we found out Nick would be killed, but it's still disappointing. I liked Gabi. She grew up a lot over the last couple of years, she added diversity to the canvas, and she had a unique role on the show, as the young mom raising her kid with two fathers. That could have lead to a lot of interesting stories for her love life, wilson's love life, etc. I can't believe I'm saying this, but they could have even brought on Mama Hernandez and let her meddle; it would have been better than John meddling in Brady's life. So of course, Days wrote her out, instead of recasting her. Edited by six, May 30 2014, 09:16 AM.

Example of Gabi believing in Nick's change mantra: Gabi was fighting Sonny before the wedding over WilSon snubbing Nick. She then barged into his room (at the Kmansion) when she thought Sonny was plotting against Nick. And let's not forget her conversation with Abby about how she threatened WilSon about accepting Nick into their lives or she'll move out with Ari. WilSon practically had to grovel and accept all of her terms, including barring Sami from visiting the apartment or Gabi will move out and take Ari with her. How was she afraid of Nick when she used his hold over others to get her way? |

Also, she was ready to have sex with Nick before Sami barged in. She seemed to really believe Nick had changed until the last couple of weeks. |

A bit off topic...now that Will and Sonny are married, can Sonny legally adopt Ari? Is that possible? The only example I can think of is Brad Pitt officially adopting Angelina's adopted kids after they got together. Would Gabi need to give her permission? I'm just thinking in the future Sonny might need to have his rights secured in case of an emergency involving Ari. Edited by Pookie, May 30 2014, 08:46 AM.

Well, the article mentions that Gabi claims Nick had been blackmailing her all along. The only thing Nick has on her is what she did to Melanie. So logic tells me she will confess to what she did to Melanie to explain her motive in killing Nick. Edited by Pookie, May 30 2014, 09:04 AM.

The difference between Angelina's kids and Ari is that Ari has a mother who has a say whether someone should adopt her child or not. With Gabi and Will's agreement Sonny can legally adopt Ari. I actually know someone who has two legal daddies and one mom. |

I don't blame CB. I blame these awful writers who could make any story boring. This has been a by the numbers, halfhearted "mystery " that a seventh grade English student could have made more exciting. |

OK, good to know. I'm pretty sure the next step will be Sonny legally adopting Arianna. |

I have to say I have liked this storyline. Even though I've known it was Gabi all along, I haven't minded that. I mean, how many *real* whodunits can be made these days? There's always gonna be spoilers and good guesses. However, the only thing that strikes me as odd here is that Gabi simply suddenly just goes to confess? Nope, I think this would have required a much more dramatic type of reveal scenes to make that happen. Not only because it's stupid to have so many people just march up there and confess like they're in some sort of a ticket line. She should have tried to flee town or something like that. |

Meh. I also knew all along that it was Gabi, but tptb didnt have to have the story go the way it seems with Gabi written out simply because CB's leaving. They could have recast Gabi (they've done it before!), had a trial, and built up her character even more, showing how she's grew a backbone and became a strong mama protecting her child... everyone in town could have been called as witnesses to the manipulation by Nick, and Gabi could have eventually been acquitted of the murder due to self-defense. Then we would have had a wonderfully strong Gabi would could go on to become a leading lady of Days somewhere down the line. Sigh. Yet another missed opportunity for Days to really build a character instead of throwing them away. |

When are TPTB going to learn that if you have to trot out your actors to explain the character's real thoughts/motivation after the fact, you are doing a piss-poor job of writing the story? Poor KM gave so many nonsensical interviews because her character made no sense & was turning on a dime on a daily basis. AS & JS trying to justify a highly-promoted fake out. And now CB trying to re-write shown Nabi history. And that's only the last 3-6 months of this WTFery. |

I wonder if Camilla knew that Nick was blackmailing Gabi? She played her scenes as if Gabi totally believed and trusted Nick, so I'm wondering if that was her acting choice or her being uninformed. How many times have we seen "Well if I'd known I would have played it this way buuut..." Or even better, actors in the same storyline describe it differently. These writers need to whisper something in the ears of their actors because otherwise the story becomes in cohesive. |

I think they made the best decision in years by not recasting her. Now if only they had her killed and Nick be the one to go back to jail again. That would make more sense but than when did this show make sense. Now that Nabi is finally out of the way, I wonder what they are going to do with Wilson. If the past is anything to go by, the future of Wilson doesn't look much interesting but is nabi less and that is tiny progress. Edited by Sevprince, May 30 2014, 12:03 PM.

Days hasn't had a major health scare in a while. I could see them doing that to Will, Sonny or little Ari. Gotta use the hospital set for something other than pointless Daniel/Nicole/Jennifer drama that just goes around in circles anyway. |

Gabi's more likely then not getting carted off to prison and we still won't see her and Rafe's Mom! :shame: |

Nick's control issues were obvious, IMHO Gabi is a control freak in a different way. Gabi controls people and circumstances by playing whatever personality that works, be it victim, strong single mom, lover, needy sister, frightened, bossy and a little blackmail of her own. She sure didn't mind using her daughter as leverage against Will and Sonny or playing Nick. And this is not to open up another discussion about weather Gabi should pay for her sins. I'm just saying I didn't really see her afraid of Nick until maybe that last day. |
