I didn't think that Sami came across as being insensitive during my first viewing of this episode, and I still don't think that she came across that way after my second viewing of it. But I also don't really have anything against Sami to begin with (except for her chosen fiancé), so there's that.

She should've just phoned it in then I wouldn't have even noticed, LOL.

I think Sami simply doesn't care about Gabi enough for empathy for her to trump relief that Will is innocent. It seemed rather in character. Later, when she was talking to Hope, the larger implications were sinking in. I think that was pretty in character.
And I must say I've enjoyed AS's performance the last few days, especially when Sami was with Lucas and sticking up for Lucas.

Wow. I'm just going to add to the chorus. Camila literally had me weeping. I've NEVER cried at a soap before. At the very end, when she was talking about wanting to hold her baby, I just kinda lost it. Fabulous job. That last line about wanting to hold Ari was just heartbreaking.

Wilson and Lumi being happy about Will's awesomeness while Gabi is being held on murder charges is rubbing me the wrong way.
Me too. Plus Gabi saved Sami and Kate's hides by not giving the real thing Nick was holding over her head. Nick WAS holding the MelAnie thing over her head. That day in November when they were arguing he told her if she did not go to NY with him he was going to send her to prison for her part in the MelAnie kidnapping.

The same is true of Daniel, IMO.
And the same phenomenon occurs with Nicole, but in reverse. People are remarkably sympathetic to her every plight, even when they shouldn't be. I swear, I sometimes feel like if she suffered a paper cut on-screen, there would be pages and pages of posts about the injustice of it all.

I watch pretty much for Will and Sonny but I really didn't dig either one of them at all today, especially Sonny. Their scenes in the apartment didn't hold nearly enough weight for me except for maybe a little bit when Will was holding baby Ari, but I think that had more to do with the luck that the little actress was in one of her more attentive moments, and that made it special.

Overalls, I think that's the case with most actors and characters and their fans and nonfans. Absolutely. For me, Will&Sonny just highlighted the predominant feelings expressed on this board though. (Anti-Sami, Anti-Daniel, Pro-Nicole) Those feelings usually chime the loudest although yes, I realize it's not always been that way and yes there is a wide representation of fans on this board, etc...etc...

Sami gets on my nerves at times w/ the whole scrunchy face and overacting, but she doesn't do it all the time. Overall, I like Sami's character (well not this weird version of her, but the Sami she was before EJ).
And Daniel? I've never right out HATED Daniel. Well, I hate his hair and he's a little too tan, but I find him tolerable in normal doses. The problem is tptb have just shoved him and Jennifer down our throats ad nauseum and it's kinda sad.
And Nicole? I love Nicole so much, but over the past few months those writers have made it where I just wanna punch her in the throat.
I believe everything in moderation.
Off Topic: I was distracted a little bit by Gabi's lavender nail polish.

Overalls, I think that's the case with most actors and characters and their fans and nonfans. Arguably so, but I think some are indisputably more polarizing than others. On this site, at least, Sami and Daniel seem to be the two characters that people are generally the quickest to judge harshly, and Nicole seems to be the one that people are generally most willing to make excuses for. Other sites will have their own favorites and least favorites, of course.
And again, I'm not saying that it's a bad thing, per se. I'm just making an observation that's intended to point out that perceptions are sometimes skewed.

On the other hand, when the writing changes significantly, there can be a big change on the board. Rafe may not be the most popular character but the vitriol spewed at him died down dramatically when the character broke up with Sami and the propping of the character seemed to die down. The most you hear these days is that he can occasionally be an a-hole or that people don't like GG as an actor.
And I remember when Gabi was absolutely hated on the board, and as you can see from today, that has changed dramatically with a change in the writing and her growth as an actress.

It's not anywhere near as loud as 2 years ago but I would still pick it as in the top three sentiments here. It just cracks me up, because no matter how much things change there's always going to be a perception that was really only relevant like 4 years ago. I saw someone mention on twitter recently that Nicole is untouchable here, and it made me laugh because I had literally just finished a post bashing her in the middle of a conversation with a bunch of other people bashing her, and only one person was defending her. I realize that being a mod makes it slightly different for me, but I don't think things are as polarizing as a lot of people say. A lot of times it seems like people notice the posts they don't agree with and completely ignore the big group of people agreeing with them.

I think there is a growing strong anti Jen movement happening as well. The anti - Abby has died down significantly. The pro - Hope is still strong.
Strongest feeling would probably be the pro - Ciara contingent. If anyone goes up against her they are doomed to condemnation regardless of what she does.

I remember when Camila Banus first joined the show. Gabi was the most pointless character and people couldn't understand why TPTB were keeping the character, let alone recasting her. And Banus' previous work on OLTL was hardly impressive. In fact, for the first couple of years on this show, Banus was dead on screen. But, Days Acting School kicked in again and, as is the case with most younger actresses, she's leaving with a bang, doing her best work in 4 years. I'm not sure when her last day is (Wednesday?), but I'm gonna use this opportunity to wish her good luck in the big world out there. June 12 or 13 is Camila' s last air date.
