Kate's tears should have had some verbal back-up of her experience with Curtis Reed for newer viewers and for Gabi to understand her vehemence also. Otherwise it might feel odd that Kate is all blubbery about Gabi missing time with her daughter when she had a rather impatient nature with Gabi since the river drowning cover-up. Kate connected with Gabi here for a very personal reason. Kate's reaction is coming from her own heart-wrenching experience and I think that should have been made known to the audience.

ITA. Those scenes would have been compelling. Once again, DAYS blew another opportunity.
Right. They didn't have to go into Kate's whole history but a line or two explaining why having a child not know their mother growing up hits home for Kate. Mention she's been there and that's why she's going to tell baby Arianna Gabi loves her daughter. It could have had a lot more meaning than Kate just crying like she did. The scene fell flat for me because the substance behind it was lacking.

I am HERE for Nicole dragging Jennifer's ass for filth
Great so we finally go from Nicole vs Sami where Sami always wins to Nicole vs Jen where Jen always wins.
That's why writers love to do to destroy Nicole over sami or Jennifer or anyone else to make viewers hate nicole .I just wish nicole slap bichiffer and after that kick fetch for being nosy and awful friend to her. Team Nicole all the way.

Today, grieving the loss of Rik Mayall (RIP), I realized that Daniel as a character has already been invented. He IS Lord Flashheart, without the irony. If the writers wrote the character of Daniel like Flashheart, he would be as popular as they think Daniel should be.
Spoiler: click to toggle

Although, I must say I am at least pleasantly surprised that Nicole was able to call out Jenn-Jenn on her sanctimony, even though they had to make Nicole dishonest to make up for that.
Who's Rik Mayall?

I don't think we can just swap characters like that, unless we're also swapping character traits. In this scenario, is Aiden a dishonest person who'll go to any length to deceive Hope? Does Jennifer overhear that Aiden has been given multiple chances to come clean and has instead chosen to cover up his lie with another lie? I'll concede that Jennifer wasn't being a very good friend to Nicole when she went behind her back and told Eric the truth, but I don't think it necessarily follows that Jen is jealous. She could have also realized that it's better not to have any friends than to have a friend like Nicole and that confronting Nicole would only give her another chance to think up another way to mislead Eric into thinking she really had his best interest at heart.
Well, and that was part of why I was having trouble coming up with names to swap.

Re: Jen being jealous -- in her conversation with Eric, she talked about the problem she has with Dan and Nicole's friendship. I can't recall if she flat-out said she was jealous or if she just hinted at it, but the groundwork was laid for it. We do know she was affected by her feelings toward Nicole and Dicole's friendship. It's not a leap to say some part of her motivation and her choices about her actions came from her insecurity about Dicole.

I'm trying to figure out when Reverend Jonas and Sista Jenn became the judge/jury of Salem. Who are they? Why is everyone operating on their time? They're NOBODY. They're not important. Just have to laugh at the lack of attention given to Eric in this. Hello, isn't this story supposed to be about HIM and the betrayal of his fiance? IMO, they made him a secondary player in his own story today like they have in a lot of episodes lately, and Ericole's angst is suddenly Dannifer's story. Again, WTH!@*? Today, we get loads of dialogue of how it affects poor Daniel. They even had poor Eric worshipping at the great one's feet and pleading for forgiveness. And that Jenn/Nicole confrontation had so many WTf moments that it left me scratching my head. The writers were clearly pro-Jenn when they scripted this, and they didn't let Nicole get one comeback on the heiffer. :flipoff: Yes, Jenn, Nicole lied, but it's NONE of your bizness. Nicole shoulda slapped MissPrissy and turned that jackedup pantsuit fifty shades of uglier.
The only bright spot for me was Eric & NIcole's solo scenes that lasted about 30 seconds. Finally, it was about them. The clencher at the end: sending a weeping Eric to fall in Jenn's arms for comforting and a wacked up slap by Nicole at Bonas's apartment at the end. I don't want to see any more of these damned jacked up Daniel/Nicole confrontation scenes or nausea-inducing Jenn/Eric friendship scenes. No, just NO. I mean, seriously, 18+ months of Ericole buildup for THIS---more overexposure for the ill-fitting over-contrived clusterf***k pairing known as Dannifer ? They have got to be freaking kidding me! Please say that Dannifer aren't supposed to be the BIG couple that they're focusing on? :soapbox:
I don't get it.
In 2013 and on up to February of this year, the show was firing on all cyclinders, and them whammo all the storylines went straight to hell. Did the writers switch up at the helm? I mean, what in da hell happened? And how convenient that Daniel/Jennifer are gonna just roll into Eve's big story. Big effin whippity do :drunk:

I'm not saying it's a leap to speculate that she is jealous. I'm saying it's not a foregone conclusion, because she had valid reasons to bypass Nicole and go straight to Eric. Also, facilitating the break up between your boyfriend's ex and her current bf doesn't seem like a jealous move. The jealous thing to do would have been to let ericole get married and move out of town and out of Daniel's life.

Imma need Eric to go back to the priesthood. I would rather see him in that collar than anywhere near a bed with his old babysitter Jenny Jen. And get Nicole out of Dannifer hell.

Jenn can say all she wants, swear on the good book, whatever... Her decision was more about Daniel than about Eric. As for Eric having a right to know, hell yeah he should know about the papers. But it shouldn't have been based on Jennifer Rose's relationship insecurities.

As for today's ending with Jeneric :offs:

If Jeneric and Danicole are where this show is headed I'll say sayonara. Sounds lackluster at best.

The thing is, I've never bought for a second that Jen Jen considered Nicole a friend. Whenever she said "Nicole and I are friends," she always sounded like she was convincing herself. I think she was always sleeping with one eye open, where Nicole is concerned. And she was waiting for her to do something wrong. She just did the friend thing for Daniel's sake.

Having said that, I actually bought Jennifer's concern for Eric. When she was talking about Eric losing his "vocation," she said it with enough conviction and passion that I can buy she was outraged on Eric's behalf.

I just wish Eric would take an active role in his own life. I am also tired of both Nicole and Eric worshipping Fetch. At least Nicole is over that shit.

Too bad they didn't show the baby. I seriously can't get enough of that baby.
