Quoting limited to 4 levels deep
It seems like people forget that or just like to ignore it. Marlena had no idea what exactly was on that tape because Victor (who literally no one is blaming at all) manipulated her and the situation. She was told it was proof Kristen had cheated on Brady, not that her son was raped.
To be fair, Victor had no idea that Eric had been raped. He couldn't have possibly told Marlena that the video depicted something he didn't realize that it depicted. He could have told her that it depicted Eric having sex with Kristen, yes. But Eric being raped? No.
Nobody's saying he did. However, everyone is acting like Marlena knew exactly what was on the tape and then knowingly pushed play. Sami made it sound exactly like that today, and Marlena just sat there and took it as usual, ugh :drunk:

I realize Days is good for the next couple of years, but I would think Nick would be one of those characters that would pop up years down the road, not in the next couple. I don't think he'll ever be back.

I'm going to start calling Soc "SoccerMother" and Soapy "SoapFemale" and tom "ThomasSawyer". Idk how to lengthen the rest of your names.
Lysie is sometimes a nickname for Lysandra.
Lysandra is the female form of the name; and Lysander is the male form of the name. Lysandra/Lysander means 'liberator of man, freer of man'. (In contrast to Alexandra/Alexander which means 'defender of man'.)
Shall we call you Lysandra? I can totally imagine EJ calling you that.

As expected, Julie annoyed the hell out of me today. Nothing that Gabi or Hope told her sunk into that thick, Nick-loving skull of hers, and she continues to make excuses for him and act like he was the victim instead of the abuser. It's going to be a long time before I can start to feel anything other than disdain for her. I wouldn't be surprised if newer viewers don't even realize that Julie is related to Will and Arianna. Hell, she seems to have forgotten herself.
Marlena also annoyed me today -- I can't help thinking that what she is doing is borderline unethical, if not blatantly so. I've suspected since her conversation with Gabi that she was going to either break Gabi's trust or manipulate the situation to find a loophole so that she would be free to talk about the river incident with Sami and Kate, so I'm not surprised that the latter happened, but the fact remains that it does feel like a manipulation to me.
And just once, I want to hear a character thank another character for not confessing a crime to them and consequently burdening them with the task of keeping it quiet instead of constantly hearing characters whine about how the person who committed the crime should have confided in them about it. Marlena overheard Sami and Kate, and did nothing unethical today.

My Lysie is actually short for Elyse, though (it's not really shorter...). It became my username kind of oddly, though. My college roommate and I had the same middle name, spelled differently. But she actually went by her middle name, and sometimes we called her Lysie. My username used to be my middle name, but at some board a long, long time ago, I forgot my password. So I just changed it to the nickname. And now I go by my first college roommate's nickname, lol. People actually call me Lysie in real life now that DR does press, and it's flat out bizarre.

Can we turn on the filters for the EJ-fied names so we don't have to type them out or try to remember what they all are? ;)

I don't like that Marlena isn't defending what she did at Brady and Kristen's wedding. Sami and Kate make it sound like Marlena knew that it was Eric in the video having sex with Kristen. Didn't Marlena think it was Daniel in the video? Why isn't she defending herself?
But, that would mean the writers gave Marlena an opinion and feelings and such...
I have to disagree. I don't think that was the point of the dialogue at all. The point that Kate was making was that Marlena had done something that had arguably been misguided in the name of protecting a loved one, just like Kate and Sami had done. Marlena's suspicions at that time about the identity of the man in the video are irrelevant -- she knowingly showed a sex tape in a church in an effort to expose Kristen and protect Brady, and it backfired. Kate and Sami knowingly covered up what they believed was a self-defense killing in an effort to protect Gabi, and it backfired. Did Marlena know it was a sex tape?

Victor would not have cared about Eric. This is a man who tried to kill his own son (several times) over a woman. And tried to pass Justin's first son off as his own, etc. LOL! And even when he did find out Eric was raped, he didn't care.

How would EJ describe Supergirlx2?
We know EJ would say "young lady" for girl.
How would EJ say "Super"? All of these synonyms work: magnificent, marvelous, outstanding, sensational, superb, terrific, topnotch, divine, smashing, glorious, hot, incomparable, matchless, wonderful.

So, if I'm addressed formally, go ahead and make me a diva...actually, make that three divas... and call me Kristian Arianne Maura. B-)

Julie was actually more obnoxious than I've anticipated. What a cruel woman. She's not fair nor is she understanding. With qualities like that how can she be a Horton family matriarch? I just want her to stay away and only visit holidays and weddings.
I am fully sympathetic and understand that she's entitled to be sad and angry because she lost someone she loves violently. But her unsympathetic reaction to Gabi and her singular focus on Nick is so off putting.
All of the Hortons need to take responsibility for what Nick did and what happened to him, but Julie should take a huge share. I mean, they thought it was perfectly normal for their recently released troubled son to marry a young girl out of hight school he just met. Then they found out about Will's baby and they continued to coddle Nick.
I know alot of people argue that Julie doesn't know. But I believe she Julie knows. She keeps saying that "Nick said he was sorry," "he changed." What was he sorry for if he didn't do anything? Why did Julie think Nick and Gabi divorced? Julie knows, but she just doesn't care about anyone else but Nick.

Marlena - I wish you would have come to me with this. Sami - Seriously! How I am supposed to come to you for anything when you so clearly judge me and condemn me. Marlena gets up and leaves. Sami - Oh God, she can't say anything ... she runs after her Mom. Gosh, maybe Sami will go to Elvis and ask him to hire a hit man to take care of the "Marlena problem"...

I guess Hope is probably the only person in the entire family who is even qualified to be the matriarch. If nobody can step up to the plate, then maybe the Horton family should break up permanently and go their separate ways.

Julie just didn't care. She wanted to maintain a facade and to pretend that Nick was an angel.

It was hard to muster up much sympathy for Eric when he was talking about how he'd given up Hope that he'd ever clear his name when the fact is, he didn't do a thing to try to clear his name. He gave up right out of the gate and if it wasn't for Daniel and Nicole he wouldn't have the proof now.
Edited to add: and I did not like that he called Nicole a bitch. At least I think I heard him say that. Sometimes his whispering is too hard to decipher.
Not being a smart ass here but how many rape victims you know go out looking for proof at first. The man was reeling from one bit of bad news to the next. Hell why should he have looked he knows how Jonas of Nazareth is he would surely find evidence if were to be found. I wouldn't have minded him not trying to clear his name if he had actually done some of that reeling you mention. He was on the road to recovering from the rape pretty quickly. He actually put more time and effort into figuring out those nightmares he was having about the incident. But once he learned about what Kristen did, he seemed to get over it practically overnight. He seemed pretty indifferent to the whole thing, even when Nicole and Daniel were trying to figure it all out. He wasn't anything more than a bystander.

Honestly the only time I like it when someone calls a character a different form of their name is when Kristen calls EJ "Eeejjjj" because it's hilarious and I envision that to of been a total adlib on Eileen's part. Cracks me UP.

I think Julie/Nick's relationship is pretty contrived, but I don't think it's out of the ordinary that a family member wouldn't want to believe the worst of another family member. Julie tends to be a tad on the passionate/emotional side when it comes to these things, and not on the logical side. But ultimately, she's not in town a lot, so she was really a pretty horrible choice for a person to look after Nick, lol. I don't think it has anything to do with not caring, but more to do with taking things at face value. I would be more annoyed by her response if everyone involved in the stupid story hadn't been so needlessly secretive about all of it.
