Personally i love it when EJ and Stefano call people by their given name and not their nick name. In regards to Sonny. He may not know his name is Jackson and so he calls him Sonny I see nothing wrong with that at all. Its in his character to me.
I know Samantha said she knows when things went wrong for him but then she back tracked when Marlena said so this is my fault. SO to me she didnt really blame Marlena. I found it funny how Kate and Samantha were making excuses. I dont feel Samantha threw Kate under the bus like she says. Now that Gabi is about gone they can go back to being enemies.
I understand where Juila was coming from but she was out of line to Gabi to me. She didnt know half the things that Nick did and she acting like he could do no wrong. Nick had plenty of chances but he choose to be bad.
EJ eye roll to Juila was great i ff through all the teen scene.
I actually watched the painful scenes of Nicole crying and being angry at Dr. Feel good. GAG me.

I'm quoting myself because my post was long, and I want an actual answer on this. - Quote:
-
I would like FOR ONCE for someone to actually answer this. Are there scenes I'm just forgetting where Marlena has listed Sami's crimes for the beginning or gone back and scolded her for the stuff from the past? I can't think of a single time that's happened, and yet I can think of several times Sami has accused her of doing it. It's frustrating to me because it seems to have just been accepted on soap boards that that's what always happens, but I've never actually seen it happen...let alone always. So someone please. Show me what you/they are talking about.
I'm not your target audience here, since I've never uttered such things, but I have this nagging feeling that they did get into a conversation about Sami's past misdeeds in one of those arguments leading up to the "grief sex" reveal during Marlene McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas, Junior's stint. Perhaps in what was Rafe and Sami's apartment at that time? :shrug:Either way, that would only be one example. I meant to quote lysie's post, but somehow I lost it LOL. Too tired to go back lol.
I can not point out the exact times throughout the years that Marlena has thrown Sami's sins in her face, but I can testify that she has done that more times than I care to remember over the years. I would not say she makes a list of all Sami's sins LOL, but she has her own settle way of throwing shade at her to make her feel like shit which feeds in her insecurities and low self esteem. She would throw 'innocent' comments like 'you are so lucky lucas/Rafe forgave after everything you have done to him' which is her way of saying 'you don't deserve such great guys as lucas/rafe since you are such a shitty person. My personal favorite is when she compares Sami and Eric and points out how wonderful Eric is and says nothing about Sami LOL.
Marlena has her own way of making Sami feel like shit without even saying a word. I am not saying it is not justified because Sami does screw up a lot, but she does it and she has done it for years. As a grown, Sami gives Marlena too much power over her life. I wish she did not care what Marlena thought of her, but sadly she does. Look how distraught she was today over it. Get a grip woman!!

I'm going to start calling Soc "SoccerMother" and Soapy "SoapFemale" and tom "ThomasSawyer". Idk how to lengthen the rest of your names.
It makes me wonder how you react to your huge collection of nicknames.
I'm not a fan of any of the ones that connect to my real name. Lysie is actually much more chill about it. Funny how fake names are more relaxed. I was going to say we could call you Lysie-strata, but then I realized obscure Greek references (Lysistrata) are probably not what we're going for in name altering. ;)

Quoting limited to 4 levels deep for even longerGabi actually thought she would get away with it and I think she would have, if Will had not confessed forcing her to clear him by confessing herself. I know Hope had evidence, but that evidence was flimsy at best. What Gabi should have done was destroy or burn the diaper bag after putting the gun back. If Hope questioned her, she could have said she had left the diaper bag in the car or better yet she was in so much shock, she must have left it behind somewhere. so it is lost. They would not been to prove anything.
The bolded part made me chuckle. Gabi would've gotten away with it too if it hadn't been for those pesky kids, Shaggy and Scooby...aka Will and Sonny. :blulaugh:
I would love it if Wilson have a conversation where they realize that if they had only confided in each other about their mutual suspicions, they would have figured out the only other person who could have known the gun was there was Gabi. They could have all hopped Victor's jet to Indonesia, Arianna included, and be living a lovely ex-patriot life together. Also, I think it's contrived (to facilitate CB's exit) that Gabi isn't fighting the charges. EJ basically said there was little to no evidence without her confession. On top of that, all Gabi needed to say was that Nick was threatening and stalking her, she had the gun for protection and she panicked and fled after shooting him. They'd have to work around the timing and the phone call to Marlena (although that could be used in Gabi's favor since he admits he has problems and needs help).
I adore WilSon but I absolutely agree that their stupidity helped do Gabi in and for a completely ridiculous reason. I think even GW said in an interview/article that Will and Sonny pretty much have a rule about open communication and it was really odd that they wouldn't talk about Nick's murder. Will, Sonny and Gabi really did work out their problems by the end so them skipping town together would've made perfect sense. CB announced she was leaving well before she did (6 months or so, right?) and I think the writers had ample time to come up with a better exit story that would have had just as much drama but didn't leave so many of us wondering what the hell the writers were smoking when they wrote it up. I actually would have liked it if they had Gabi get on that plane, leaving behind her baby for a short while and going to work for Victor's company or modeling or something. They could explain plot driven Arianna absences by having her go visit her mother, and it would have been cool to see Sonny put aside his former dislike of Gabi and play a part in saving her. Yes, we would have been robbed of Gabi's remorse/repentance but it would have been cool to see Victor play the deux es machina.

It's actually soapy and not drab like ok heading to prison, this sucks! Your scenario has UMPH to it and could create potential story for people on screen based off someone off screen. But it requires thought and sadly that's too much to ask for it seems. I haven't minded this story but there's multiple ways it could've been more riveting.

I know JS and AS leaving the show but Days needs to use more complex characters like Nicole, Brady, John, Stefeno, Victor, Marlina, Kate and lucas to help the rating go up instead of boring characters like Daniel, Jennifer, JJ,Paige, Jordan,Theresa,Rafe and Eric.

Quoting limited to 4 levels deepand
My point is he calls people by names other than the ones they prefer to use. If he had of been able to lengthen Nicole I'm sure he would of but there weren't many options so instead he went with a different variation. A bit like being called Daniel and someone calling you Danny. Still douche. Lexie and Sami are their preferred names.
But that isn't true, either, because he calls Sonny "Sonny" and calls Kate "Kate", just as they'd prefer. Whatever his motivation -- to be a "proper English gentleman", to show fondness for certain characters, or to annoy people by calling them names they don't like -- he's not consistent about it at all.
And he calls himself EJ and his son Johnny, lol. I'd like to know if the inconsistency comes from the writing or the actor. My guess would be both, though. I don't see it as a big deal. I think it is his own style. Some people are more formal than others. it probably has to do with his upbringing. I was raised to call people by their formal name unless we have a close relationship. I don't know why Ej does it, but I would think it was an issue for the characters, they would have said so.
I do love it that Ej call Sami Samantha. He has become his thing. it feels strange when he says Sami.

They're not going to complain about it unless a writer has them complain about it. But I think it's pretty stupid to be formal with your fiance and her son and not formal with others (himself, his son, Allie, Sonny). Just because it's his style, doesn't mean it's not rude.

Bo had the best nickames for people. Fancy Face, Mrs H,Sailor Man, Tiny Man, but I loved how he called EJ "Junior." It was just so gleefully condescendingly delivered, and JS always had EJ bristle slightly at that, which made it perfect!
After seeing Julie today, is it too much to hope for that she finds out Kate and Sami's role in Nick's "drowning"? Kate and Julie griping and snarking at each other would be awesome!!
Nicole was in the wrong to hide/try to destroy the evidence she risked her life to get, but damned if she isn't the most rootable character in the Ericole/Dannifer mess.

EJ knows Sonny's name is Jackson. He's used it before. The name just doesn't fit Sonny at all, though, so I'm glad it's not constantly used.

Meanwhile, I watched today's show and realized I hate pretty much all these people. I don't feel any empathy for them. I think they're dumb, hypocritical, and sanctimonious. The only one I felt anything for was the murderess. Seriously, these characters are not endearing and their schtick has worn so thin under TomSell.

I only wish you could have joined me in this earlier. I'm slow. The fact that TomSell actually had plots and pacing captivated me for awhile after the plodding MarDar. But now that 2014 is shaping up to just be a redux of 2013 without the shiny newness, the bloom is off the rose.

Lysie is sometimes a nickname for Lysandra. Lysandra is the female form of the name; and Lysander is the male form of the name. Lysandra/Lysander means 'liberator of man, freer of man'. (In contrast to Alexandra/Alexander which means 'defender of man'.) Shall we call you Lysandra? I can totally imagine EJ calling you that.
Please don't tell SoapFemale that that's an actual name. My Lysie is actually short for Elyse, though (it's not really shorter...). It became my username kind of oddly, though. My college roommate and I had the same middle name, spelled differently. But she actually went by her middle name, and sometimes we called her Lysie. My username used to be my middle name, but at some board a long, long time ago, I forgot my password. So I just changed it to the nickname. And now I go by my first college roommate's nickname, lol. People actually call me Lysie in real life now that DR does press, and it's flat out bizarre. You already have a long name & you know what it is...
