Is it just me, or did Hope seem to give Gabi an "I'm sorry" look as she closed the door?

ouch. Julie to Gabi: "I hope you hate yourself... for the rest of your life."

I get that SSH is doing her best with the the lines she's given.

But I have a problem with writers having a legacy character tell a psychologically abused woman to hate herself.
Gabi did not at all adequately explain why she killed Nick. And it's very much in character for Julie to react that way.

If there were no blackmail involved and no other characters involved with their schemes. And it was pure abuse she had suffered at his hands then I would have lots more sympathy for her. As it is..nope. And only 10 years? That is a WOW.

Kate and Sami say they were trying to help Gabi. Marlena says that you two convinced that girl to do something stupid. She says they have poor judgment. Kate says you showed that video of your son having sex to the whole congregation.
 really Kate? Because what Marlena did is the same as dumping a body in the river?

today's episode was directed by Albert Alarr from a surprisingly good script written by David Cherrill

I don't think shredding the documents was the right thing for Nicole to do, and I hate that after months of redemption the writers made her do that. However, whatever she did, I do not enjoy seeing Daniel, Jennifer and Eric yell and judge her. It's not that she's in the right, it's that it's unpleasant. It's not good angsty soapy drama. It's just ugly.

It occurs to me that I wanted to see Nicole redeemed as I wanted to see Nick redeemed. I don't think characters should lose their flaws or personality, but redemption arcs are compelling to watch - especially when they are successful.

Whatever the writers do now, I don't really see how they could salvage the Ericole ship at this point. Eric clearly never wanted her as much as he wanted to be a priest. So, she deserves better and the relationship was never right. So what was the point?

Really, I feel sorry for the many Ericole fans, who wanted to see Nicole fall in love with a man who brought out the best in her. They've been thrown under the bus so that the show can pair Daniel with Eve and so they are moving Eric to Jennifer. (I think.) Heck, I could even work up sympathy for Dannifer fans at this point, since they are going to break them up again and put Jennifer with Eric.

so Paige's home is merely Theresa's apartment very weakly restaged & redressed
And if Paige is Eve's daughter, then half-sisters Theresa and Eve will be using the "same" apartment set.

Sami is still blaming Marlena for screwing up her life? That was over 20 years ago. Grow up!
Unbelievable! Thank god she's leaving Salem!!!

Thank you!!! I was recapping and I'm like - where the hell are they? At Wilsons? Daniel's? Theresa's? The place looked so familiar.... I think they even took stuff from Wilson and Daniel's to redress it.

She sounds like Nicole. Never learning that the only person capable of screwing up your life is the person in the mirror. :whip:

Right off the bat:

Positives: Julie/Hope/Gabi/EJ, Kate/Sami/Marlena
Negatives: Nicole/Dan, Jen/Eric
Don't care: JJ/Cole/Paige
That is pretty much everyday for this show.

I'm okay with Eric yelling and judging her...HE'S the ONLY one that should be doing it. The other two clowns should take a long ass seat.

Eric says the church was a victim of Nicole. He is worried about the children and the parishioners. The scandal. St. Jenn Jenn asks he will go back to the priesthood.
 :drunk:
The CHURCH was a victim of NICOLE?? I've officially heard it all. I'm a victim of bullshit. Does that count for anything?

St. Orange says he would have made Nicole tell. Jennifer says YOU ARE SO KIND AND WONDERFUL but she knows Nicole better. Nicole twists things. Daniel says he would have stopped the elopement. Jennfier says you couldn't have. (I'm feeling sick)
