Eric says the church was a victim of Nicole. He is worried about the children and the parishioners. The scandal. St. Jenn Jenn asks he will go back to the priesthood.
 :drunk:
The CHURCH was a victim of NICOLE?? I've officially heard it all. I'm a victim of bullshit. Does that count for anything?
I love you. :)

I just adore Julie! :wub2: SSH is just fabulous! Her interactions with the other characters is so enjoyable to watch. She is just so fun & feisty! I would much rather see Julie than Ruffles Jonas.

Nicole continuing to blame Dan and Jen for the predicament she finds herself in is beyond pathetic. She is where she is because she and she alone chose to lie to Eric and everyone else claiming she found no evidence at Chyka's hideout. She even shredded that evidence. She deserves all of Eric's anger and scorn along with everyone else's. I have no sympathy for her at all. Maybe if she would finally admit that what she did was wrong and stop making excuses for herself and stop blaming everyone else ... then maybe I can feel for her again.

And the teen scene ... continues to bore! But I am curious, are Paige and JJ actually going to do the deed?

I can see it already and I don't like it ... Dan and Jen are going to go around in circles now for weeks talking about the same thing just like Dan and Nicole have done the past few weeks. I'm bored already and they're just getting started.

I don't know ... the Kate, Marlena, Sami scenes fell flat for me. I blame that on today's script writer.

I wish Hope or Gabi would have clued Julie in on just how delusional and evil Nick was in the end. I don't like this vindictive side of Julie at all. Sure he repented for what he did to Melanie et al but then he turned around and did worse to so many other people. So Gabi didn't take his second chance - more like his third or fourth try. Julie has blinders on when it comes to Nick.

I don't like that Marlena isn't defending what she did at Brady and Kristen's wedding. Sami and Kate make it sound like Marlena knew that it was Eric in the video having sex with Kristen. Didn't Marlena think it was Daniel in the video? Why isn't she defending herself?
But, that would mean the writers gave Marlena an opinion and feelings and such...

Julie doesn't understand. Gabi articulates that she felt like she was in a suffocating grip. Gabi apologizes and Julie doesn't get it and says I hope you hate yourself for the rest of your life. Julie takes no stock in her own delusions.

If Julie had an emotional attachment to Nick, it follows that she'd be angry at his killer without knowing ANY of the story.

But once Julie learns of the abuse, she should at least consider the fact that Gabi felt cornered. She might not agree with Gabi killing Nick, She might not forgive it. But she should understand it.

Julie is supposed to have a brain.

Edited for grammar/clarity.
Exactly. Gabi had not right to kill Nick, but Julie repeatedly pushed Gabi at man who abused her and blackmailed her. Hope's response is appropriate because she doesn't excuse the killing but she understands that Nick's behavior was a huge factor.
I'm starting to think that Julie might be totally losing her mind. I won't be surprised if somewhere down the road she has a complete mental breakdown and starts killing everybody. She seriously needs a therapist.

I agree. I know that Julie told Hope that Julie got back in town "a couple of hours ago" -- but I don't understand why Hope hasn't talked to Julie on the phone about this.

After watching the clip of today's Julie/Gabi/Hope scenes, I have these comments:

I like that Gabi was really trying to see things from Julie's perspective.
Gabi said to EJ, right before Julie came in the room:
"Julie must be in so much pain. Nick collapsed in her arms that night in the square.
I can't ... I can't keep hiding from the people I've hurt -- people who loved Nick".

This kind of empathy, and trying to see things from others' point of view --- that is a significant character development for Gabi.

I hated Gabi for ages, so this is big for me to have this change in perspective about Gabi.

I don't think I've ever seen Sami show that kind of nuanced compassion for her victims.

I think Gabi did a good job of explaining to Julie what happened -- yet Gabi was not trying to excuse murdering.

I think Julie did a poor job of listening to Hope, and a poor job of listening to Gabi.

I think Hope was awesome.
What did Gabi really say that should have convinced Julie that it was okay to murder Nick? And apparently Julie had somehow just learned that Gabi was the killer. I love Hope but she should have let Julie know herself.

I never said it was okay to murder Nick.

I said "I think Gabi did a good job of explaining to Julie what happened -- yet Gabi was not trying to excuse murdering."

Gabi was telling what happened.
However Gabi was also directly admitting to Julie that the murder was NOT okay.

I think Julie was relatively mellow today. I love her but she's always had a spiteful side. One of the first storylines I remember her in was when she married Scott Banning mainly to spite her rival Susan Martin (who had killed her first love and the father of her son and got off by reason of insanity).

Gabi didn't really tell Julie anything though. She was very vague.

Long Live Stefano (RIP JOE)

The spoilers were a little forced.. Nicole didn't really ripped into Jennifer nor Daniel she basically pouted to them dear lord can we move on from this s/l..Marlena didn't really ripped into Kate and Sami..You can't really win when it comes to Kate Roberts anyways.. Love Lauren..I always cringed at Deidre Hall's dear in a headlight, in a dazed acting..Lord Alison and this Sami Character (pitty me, pitty me, your judging me) only to 5 minutes later judge and have it out with every Salem citizen lol Gosh be gone already oh Dear you would think Susan's character would have hauled off and smacked Gabi I wanted more with those scenes. The writers aren't really using their brain with the teenage s/l no h/s prom from hell or anything :shame:

As expected, Julie annoyed the hell out of me today. Nothing that Gabi or Hope told her sunk into that thick, Nick-loving skull of hers, and she continues to make excuses for him and act like he was the victim instead of the abuser. It's going to be a long time before I can start to feel anything other than disdain for her. I wouldn't be surprised if newer viewers don't even realize that Julie is related to Will and Arianna. Hell, she seems to have forgotten herself.

Marlena also annoyed me today -- I can't help thinking that what she is doing is borderline unethical, if not blatantly so. I've suspected since her conversation with Gabi that she was going to either break Gabi's trust or manipulate the situation to find a loophole so that she would be free to talk about the river incident with Sami and Kate, so I'm not surprised that the latter happened, but the fact remains that it does feel like a manipulation to me.

And just once, I want to hear a character thank another character for not confessing a crime to them and consequently burdening them with the task of keeping it quiet instead of constantly hearing characters whine about how the person who committed the crime should have confided in them about it.

It did feel flat. No real emotion in those scenes at all. The same way with Marlena/Sami. My goodness. How many times do we have to hear a grown ass woman whining about someone else being the reason they are the way they are. Give me a break.

I was thinking that same thing. Seriously? The CHURCH? Shows the "faith" this priest has. I wonder if this actors sometimes gag on their lines.
Poor, poor Catholic church. However will it ever overcome the horrible, horrible, horrible thing Nicole did to it?

Come on Ron, We are counting on YOU !!

I suspect if the show does what GH did for their 50th anniversary (get new writers, focus on core favorites, bring back the right characters for short arcs and write great dramatic stories with a little bit of camp and a lot of soapy goodness) they will be just fine for the renewal after the 50th.....
