Will is upset about Gabi being involved in Melanie's kidnapping. He says that' crazy right? Sonny gets a look. "You knew didn't you?" Will says there was always something about Gabi you didn't like...how could you not tell me you are my husband. (Boy did that reveal go fast) and Sonny says "Not this time."

I know that honeybees didn't get to see the opening ten minutes of the show due to a news preemption. Was this reveal all a quick scene, or was there something during the opening minutes of today's episode?

Three words for today's show....

Fuck off Marlena.

OK maybe a few more - her value of human life only seems to extend to those she feels worthy of human life. Where was her regret over what she did to Stefano? Does it not matter if it's a Dimera? Or will the excuse be that Stefano tortured Marlena for years? And her family? Funny - that's pretty much what Nick was doing to Sami and her son. So whatever. Marlena is such a sanctimonious hypocrite - ugh.

She used to be rootable a long long long long long time ago.

Even though I oddly agreed with Sami this time, I don't believe that Marlena was totally wrong about the things she said about Sami rarely feeling regret or remorse over her actions.

Will, you are home now, it's time to take off that sweater.

Is Mystery Science Theatre 3000 airing anymore? I thought that went off the air ages ago?
Still available to watch on youtube and dvd collections
I want NEW episodes, LOL
So do I. What a great series!

They could maybe do a segment on Sami's hair today looking like a facehugger from Alien. <g> I can imagine the comments, LOL.

Melanie? Are you serious? Daniel doesn't have enough people giving him constant overexposure now we'll have to deal with her on top of the rest? Figures of all the returning character choices they pick Daniel's daughter.

Ben and Abby were cute. I like the match so far.

Jordan your man's on a self destruction mission. Besides giving the audience a heads up Melanie's return is imminent, I felt the purpose of Rafe's conversation with Daniel was a way to knock Rafe around a little more. They are setting the stage for Rafe to have his little pity spiral.

I liked Marlena and Hope's brief conversation. I also could see Sami saying what she did about not feeling sorry. She had a moment with Nick where she felt compassion and reached out to him only to have him turn the tables and laugh in her face. That was his chance for her and he didn't want it. I think it in character and fit with her experience of the guy to rejoice he's dead. Eerie though Marlena's words "It's the people who don't have regrets that should concern us."

The whole thing with Kate, Ej and Sami is full of WTF. If this is the lead in to a super duper fantastic twist they've already screwed up the introduction.
Rafe is definitely on a downward spiral, and while Daniel has a right to be a little bit pissed - Melanie knew all of this. She's an adult that Daniel did not raise. If she didn't tell him, she didn't want him to know. As far as I remember, she wasn't under any legal agreement not to say anything before she left town?

Rafe, on the other hand, was protecting the baby sister that he raised. Yes, it turned out to be the wrong decision, but Rafe's motives should pass the Daniel-God's purity test. Oh right, only Daniel can keep secrets and/or lie for noble reasons. Nobody else can. There is no moral complexity in the Daniel-verse.

I fail to see the purpose of Gabi's past to be revealed at this point . The only good thing about it is that no one will ever be able to use it against her ever again unlike Will's past who will most likely resurface at one point or another. I don't see why Gabi needs to still be dragged through the mud when scum like Sami, Kate ,EJ and Stephano are still coming out smelling like roses when they've done so much more than Gabi ever did.
Hated that Rafe had to go explain his sister's actions to Dr Dan of all people and shudder at the thought of Melanie returning. Might be time for this gal to take a break from this show if that whinny little brat is returning. My only interest now is to see EJ's and Sami's downfall.

When Marlena was talking to Sami she could've said something about being driven to take drastic measures and living with the regret. Instead, she sounds like someone who's never done anything like that.
I don't disagree. I think they're writing her horribly and where Deidre used to act some subtext in things like that, she's not doing it anymore. I feel like this regime is relatively decent and pointing out certain parallels and hypocrisies, but really really bad at pointing out ones that would actually be useful to their stories and provide character development. They like to use surface level history and forget what the actual stories were and it drains from all character interactions, IMO. My disagreement with you wasn't based on today but on what you said happened before.
Yes, I do agree that -- as happens frequently with many characters -- the writers never delve deep enough. I find it especially egregious in Marlena's case, given her DOOL character stature and rich relationship history. They just will not give Marlena the focus she deserves, that would allow more pivotal connections to be made and could provide really memorable moments with her for a whole host of characters...Sami included, of course. And, for whatever reason, Diedre no longer seems to be trying to provide nuance on her own to the level she can. Maybe in this case, it's because AS is leaving? IDK. So perhaps there should have been additional beats hit in Marlena's conversation with Sami.

That said, I do not think that the point of the conversation today was about Marlena's reactions to Sami's bad actions at the river. Marlena was horrified about that, but she wasn't going to be diverted into a discussion of all the dire circumstances that she and Sami and other Salemites regularly encounter. I think Marlena was much more appalled by the callousness exhibited in the aftermath and her daughter's utter disregard for the loss of Nick's life and its impact on his family. When Marlena tried to probe for some shred of conscience in her daughter, she got only Sami's bitter snark about her failure to drown Nick and regret that someone else pulled him out of the river. By her own statement, Sami has no remorse. I do not think she gets that from her mother. I have never seen Marlena as a remorseless person.

To me, Marlena's musing remark to Hope that 'it's the people without regrets that we have to worry about' did not come across as judgmental condemnation of what Sami did. Instead it sounded like the true worry of an insightful mother about the void in what Sami feels. The lack of conscience in her daughter and the further damage to herself and others that lack may provoke should make Marlena's (or any mother's) skin prickle...and she doesn't even know about EJ's hit man...and that Sami placed the call and was ready for EJ to rub him out, too.

So I stand by my OP that JMF and LB did a great job today in the segue of the Marlena scenes between remorseless Sami and guilt ridden Hope. I think it was both about character and then was a plot cue, when Marlena told Sami: "I don't want you to turn out like Kate."

Not perfect stuff, but better than a lot of other scenes, IMO.

Yeah Daniel, your daughter left you in the dark about all this and left town on her own.

So you lay into Rafe because your daughter could have come back to Salem sooner if he had just forced his sister to leave town for prison back then.

So yeah, is that how it all worked? Then this is what I have to say to Rafe about all that:

:hail: :hail: :hail: THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

Melanie-free years. Such precious time in Salem.

As for today, I liked the Ben/Abby scenes. Especially the conversation about Jack's book. With Eve's upcoming return, I'm wondering if she is the one who files the lawsuit against the book.
Hmmm. Eve and Jack were once married. Maybe there was a paperwork error, and Eve and Jack were never officially divorced. If so, Jack's marriage to Jenn would be considered invalid. And since the law would view Eve as Jack's legal widow, Eve could sue Jenn for the profits from Jack's book and the upcoming movie deal. I like this idea a lot better than Jack being sued because he plagiarized his book (although I wouldn't be surprised if DAYS chose the plagiarism route in order to throw Jack even farther under the bus).
I don't like the idea of Jack/Jen's marriage being invalid but I definitely prefer this scenario over Jack being accused of plagiarism. Maybe Eve could falsify some paperwork to make it look like she and Jack never divorced. I could totally see Eve pulling something like that.
I've been wondering about who files that lawsuit as well. We haven't heard about a casting call for a veteran or journalist character who might challenge what Jack wrote or claim that he made everything up. (Which viewers watching back then know is false, because we got Jack's POV on what happened to him, and his panic attacks, nightmares, and PTSD flashbacks were definitely real. And IIRC, Marlena and Jack's support group had some input in his manuscript too, and their veracity is not in question. Plus, what's the point of having some faceless entity sue Jennifer over her late husband's book?) So that leaves someone who's probably after money--a chunk of the profits/royalties/advance if it gets made into a movie. Eve claiming that, due to some clerical error, she and Jack were still legally married when he died and she's therefore entitled to some of his estate might be the most plausible scenario.

Marlena did tell John in September 2008 she regretted the Stefano poisoning, but then John reminded her WHY she did it.

But putting a person in a coma is different than murder.
Plus, what Stefano did to her and John then and in the past was eons worse than anything Nick did.

Sami showing no remorse and delighting in Nick's death shows how completely amoral she has become. She's now a full-blown sociopath. A human life means nothing to her unless it's someone she deems worthy of having a life. The sooner she exits the better. They've completely ruined her character to try and justify a Sami / EJ relationship IMO. It's not that I disagree with anything Marlena said but I think the better argument for Marlena to make would have been is that two adult women who had the capacity to think clearly should have calmed down a hysterical Gabi and called the police. Heck, they could have lied for Gabi saying they came along just as Nick was attempting to rape her. They could have backed up her story instead of telling her the police wouldn't believe her and convincing her that they had to get rid of the body. I just wish Marlena would have brought up something like that.
This!

AND Stefano was FAR more deserving of her wrath and hatred than Nick was from Sami IMO.

Stefano did FAR more atrocious things to Marlena and her family than Nick did to Sami and her family.
Amen! The time she put Stefano in a coma, he had just had John killed by a hit and run and then made Marlena think john was dead, then brought him back with a different personality. Talk about putting two people through hell. How that is equal to Sami suffering at the hands of Nick is laughable.

Exactly what did Nick do to Sami? Blackmailed her to get Gabi a job at CW. I know what Nick tried to do to Will, but that's nothing compared to the crap Stefano pulled on John and Marlena.

If that's what's keeping you watching, I'm afraid you'll be disappointed. I don't think there will be any kind of downfall for those two. They will probably be heralded as the king and queen of Salem with everyone showering them with gifts as they skip out of town holding hands.

Director: Herb Stein
Scriptwriter: Jeanne Marie Ford

Segment 1: Kate is in the square talking to Stefano on her cell. When are you coming home? That long. I suppose I can manage. I understand you have to have all your ducks in a row for that big board meeting and then finally you will show everyone exactly who is boss at DiMera Enterprises. She turns around and EJ is there.

Will tells Ben and Sonny that he just filled Abby in on Gabi's plea bargain. They are all at the club including Ari. Ben goes to unpack a shipment. Will asks Abby if she's upset that the judge accepted Gabi's deal? Julie wanted Gabi to go to prison for the rest of her life. Abby - No, I wouldn't want that but Nick is still family and Gabi is not the friend that I thought she was especially after I found out what she did to Melanie. Will - What did she do to Melanie?

Dan is at home looking over a medical file entitled Vocal Cord surgery. He sets it aside and recalls part of his argument with Jen. He gets up and stares at a picture of Jen and then picks up his cell.

Jordan - Rafe, I'm so sorry. I know how hard it must have been to say goodbye to Gabi. Rafe - I let her down just like I let my sister Ari down. Jordan - You didn't. Rafe - You keep saying that but you weren't here, you have no idea. Hope returns. Sorry to keep you waiting. I was briefing the Mayor. Rafe - So what did you want to talk to me about? Hope - Gabi's case. Rafe - I thought the case was closed. Hope - I'm afraid there's still one last issue we need to deal with.

Sami is in the pub when Marlena comes in. Sami - Mom. I was just filling Grandma in on Gabi's situation. She ... Marlena - Julie told me that the judge accepted the plea bargain and Gabi is headed off to prison. Sami - Let me guess, you think I belong in the cell next to her.

Rafe tells Jordan she should get going because this looks like it's going to take a while. Jordan doesn't mind staying. Rafe - I appreciate that but this is something I should deal with on my own. I'll call you later. Jordan leaves. Rafe - So you were saying. Hope - There's something you need to know. When Gabi confessed to Nick's murder she admitted to committing another crime against Melanie Jonas.

Abby - Melanie hired this guy Andrew to pretend stalk her to get Chad's attention. What she didn't know is that Andrew decided on his own to kidnap Melanie. Will - What! Abby - And when Gabi found out she didn't say anything because she was too afraid of getting caught. Will, I'm sorry. I thought you would know this. Gabi said it was going to come out in court. Will - I had no idea. Abby - Gabi ... if she would have come forward then maybe none of this ever would have happened and Nick would still be alive. I'm kicking myself because ... Will - For what? You didn't know. Abby - Yeah but I knew that something wasn't right and if I had paid more attention or just asked a few more questions then ... things could be a whole lot different now. Sonny - Abby, don't do that to yourself. We all could have made different decisions. Ari starts fussing. Will - She must be hungry. We should get her home. The guys leave with Ari.

Kate - I can't wait to see you too. Bye. She looks at EJ - I'm so glad I ran into you. EJ - I'm sure. Since when? Kate - I wanted to thank you for getting Gabi such a decent plea bargain. EJ - I think we can dispense with pleasantries, don't you Kate. Why don't you tell me what it is you're really up to.

Marlena - That was an interesting thing to say. Do you think you deserve to be in prison? Sami - No I don't but I know how judgemental you've been about what happened just like you are about everything else. Marlena - What happened was you and Kate tried to murder Nick by throwing him into the river hoping he would drown. Were you expecting a pat on the back for that? Sami - No, after all I failed. Who knew a dead man would be such a good swimmer. Mom, I was helping Gabi and I know Gabi would say the same thing too. Marlena - She doesn't blame you or Kate. Sami - But you do. Marlena - I would like to see you take responsibility for your actions. Sami - My God, you want me to turn myself in to the police. You think I should go to prison.

Segment 2: Dan is talking to Melanie filling in her on the Gabi situation. I know that you and Gabi were good friends ... Why didn't you just tell me this was not a good time. Really, you want to come for a visit? You usually come up with reasons not to visit. It would be great to see you. No, everything's fine. I just miss my little girl. Bye sweetheart.

Ben watches Abby fretting. He gets a call from Jordan. Hey, I heard Gabi's plea bargain was approved. How did things go with Rafe? Jordan - It was a mistake going to the courthouse. He needed more space. Ben - He's not upset with you. It's the situation. You can't take it personally. Look he may need space but he also needs you. You've got to keep letting him know you're there for him. Jordan - Yeah I guess. Ben - My shift's almost done. Do you want me to come and keep you company? Jordan - No, it's okay. I'm fine. Thank you for being such a great brother. Ben - I learned from the best. We'll talk soon.

Hope - The guy she hired was the guy who kidnapped Melanie. She never came forward with any information about that. Rafe - Alright, listen Hope ... Hope - Stop. None of this matters now. I consider this case closed. The reason I'm telling you this is because it was part of Gabi's confession and also because it's going to become public knowledge very soon. As far as Melanie, apparently she found out about it before she left Salem and decided for own reasons to keep it to herself. Rafe - Yeah. Hope - But there are some people who need to be filled in. Rafe - Before they read it in the paper. Hope - Exactly, like Maggie and Daniel. Rafe - Yeah. Listen if it's alright with you I'd like to be the one who tells Daniel. Hope - I thought you would. Rafe - Thanks. Hope - Rafe, it doesn't do any good to blame yourself for what happened to Gabi. Rafe - Yeah, right.

Marlena - No, I don't want to see you go to prison. Sami - Then what do you want! Marlena - I want to see you show some regret for what you did to Nick Fallon because it was just 6 months after you shot Bernardi. Sami - To save Rafe. You act like you want me to apologise for my whole life. Marlena - You know what I want. I want you to have a wonderful life same as you want for your children and I don't want to see you end up like Kate. Sami - Well that makes two of us. Marlena - Then please show a little remorse for what you've done. Sami - No, I won't because we're talking about Nick Fallon. Frankly the only regret I have is that he was pulled out of that river before he died.

Segment 3: Ben goes over to Abby. How's it going? Abby - Going. Ben - My shift just ended. Do you want to go for a walk? Abby - I'm not sure I'd be such great company right now. Ben - If you're not in the mood to talk that's okay. It might be nice to get out and enjoy the day. Abby - Yes. Let's go.

Will - I thought at this point nothing would surprise me but finding out Gabi was involved in Melanie's kidnapping, that threw me. That's crazy, right? Sonny - Will, there's something I have to tell you. Will - You knew, didn't you? I knew it. There was always something about Gabi that you didn't like. What have we been talking about; no more secrets between us. You're my husband. We're supposed to share everything with each other. Sonny - I'm sorry Will but not this time.

Kate - I don't know what you're talking about. Oh, are you talking about the phone call with your father. Were you eavesdropping on me? EJ - No, I could hear your conversation from the other side of the square. Kate - Then why are you suspicious. We were just catching up. EJ - You were having a conversation about DiMera Ent. Kate - Well your father has always appreciated my business sense. EJ - I always thought it was rather different assets that my father appreciated. Kate - I thought you'd appreciate that your father and I are getting along. Aren't you the one who pressured me to forgive him. Aren't you the one who told me you'd never seen Stefano happier than when he was with me or am I just imagining those conversations? EJ - Was I imagining when you said you'd never forgive him in a million years. After what you've been through the idea of you two actually ... Kate - Your father and I are not the kind of people who hold grudges. EJ scoffs as do I. Right. Kate - You should learn from that.

Marlena - You can't mean that. Sami - I absolutely do. Nick Fallon almost got Will killed. He tried to take Arianna away from her home, her father and he was trying to do it again. Marlena - He was a human being. He had a family and nobody had the right to kill him. Sami - He didn't have the right to do what he was doing. Do you have any idea of how sick and twisted he was! Marlena - I do and so did he. He was asking for help. She hands over her cell phone. Listen to this. She plays Nick's message to her. Can you hear the desperation, the torment in his voice. But there was hope because there is always hope. He needed help. He was trying to get it but he never had the chance. Sami - What are you talking about! He had plenty of chances and he blew them all. What were the rest of us supposed to do? Just still around letting him torture us while he figured out he needed to make a change; a change that btw was never going to happen. I'm sorry Mom. No way. I know what you want to hear me say right now but I'm not going to. I'm glad that monster is dead for good this time. She gets up and leaves.

Dan opens his door and is surprised to see Rafe there. Rafe - Sorry to show up without calling. Dan - No worries. It's great to see you. How did it go with Gabi this morning. Come in. Rafe - Okay. Dan - I left you a message. If you need me to write a letter; if there's any way I can help ... Rafe - Thanks but the judge already ok'd Gabi's plea agreement. Dan - She got caught up in a terrible situation. Rafe - There's actually something else that I need to talk to you about. Dan - Did Nicole call you? Rafe - No, why. (The audio cuts out for a bit). Dan - What's going on? Rafe - It's about you and me and Gabi.

Segment 4: Ben and Abby are in the wooded area of the park (the shrubs are all in bloom). They sit on the bench. Ben - I know you don't feel like talking but can I ask you a question, it's kind of personal. Abby - Sure. Ben - What was it like living in London? You're looking at a person who's never been out of the U.S., not even Canada. London's near the top of my bucket list. Abby - You're way too young to have a bucket list. Ben - It's long enough that I need to get on it. Abby - Alright what do you want to know about London except that you absolutely have to go there. Ben - Well I'm not really interested in the touristy stuff but when you were there what were your favourite things to do. Abby - Oh God, well my Mom and I would go to the Theatre nearly every week. It's not nearly as expensive as it is here. With my Dad, it was the museums. (She lists them). I totally sound like a guide book. Ben - No, it doesn't sound like you were doing those things to check them off a list. Abby - No, not it all. It's really great. My Dad taught me so much about art, history and Shakespeare. I wish I had paid more attention. Ben - I heard somewhere that your Dad wrote a book. Abby - Yeah he did. He wrote a book about his time as a hostage in Afghanistan. Ben - A hostage! Abby - Yeah. It's really great that he got a chance to tell his story. It's important and it's selling really well which is great because it means a lot of people have heard about it. I don't know if this is going to happen but a studio is negotiating to buy the rights to turn it into a film. Ben - That's awesome. Abby - Yeah. My mom is giving all the proceeds to some veteran organizations. It's just so nice to know my dad's legacy is contributing to such an important cause. Ben - I bet. You're family's so ... Abby - Complicated. Ben - Every family's complicated. I was going to say accomplished. Abby - I don't know a single thing about your family. Why don't you tell me about them?

EJ is on his cell in the square. I want to know every move my father makes especially anything that has to do with the upcoming board meeting. Sami joins him. EJ - How did your grandmother take the news about Gabi. Sami - Not well. She's upset for Gabi but she knows that it's better than if she had gone to trial. You want to tell me what was going on with that phone call. EJ - Not much. I overheard Kate having a conversation with my Father. Sami - What did she say about me now? EJ - Nothing. I have a feeling this may be a bumpy ride.

Sonny - And then Nick forced Chad into signing a legal agreement stipulating that no one would know Gabi hired Andrew. Will - So how did you find out? Sonny - Chad blurted it out. Will - So he broke the agreement. Will - He didn't mean to and I wanted to tell you so badly but my Dad's the one who drew up the agreement and he told me I couldn't tell anyone, not even you. Will - So you felt like if you told me ... Sonny - I would be betraying Chad and my father and I swear to you if I thought for one minute that not knowing this information could hurt you I would have told you. I never wanted anything to happen to you. I hope you can forgive me. Will - Of course I do. So much makes sense now. Nick always had this over Gabi. Whether or not he used it against her he always had this control over her from the very beginning of their relationship. Sonny - I was angry with Gabi for a very long time but I do know she felt horrible about what happened to Melanie. Will - And now she's admitted it to the police. Everyone knows and it's going to get ugly.

Rafe - You should know that killing Nick wasn't Gabi's first crime. Dan - You really don't have to explain this to me ... Rafe - I do. You see Gabi got involved in something a while back and it was pretty serious. It was around the time that you and I were helping Nicole hide her pregnancy from EJ. We actually became good friends. Gabi should have probably gone to prison for what she did then. Dan - I don't know why you feel the need to tell me ... Rafe - Because it involved Melanie. Dan - What do you mean? Rafe - What I mean is that Gabi was responsible for hiring Andrew, the guy that kidnapped Melanie.

Segment 5: Hope is with Marlena at the pub. Marlena - How are you holding up? Hope - I was his family and I let him down. Marlena - No you didn't. Hope - Yes I did. I wasn't there for him not nearly as much as I should have been. Marlena - You know what, when tragedy strikes we all try to figure out what we all could have done differently. Maybe that one little thing might have changed everything but that sort of thinking is counterproductive except when it makes us do things differently in the future. Hope - I hope so. Marlena - I know so. And it's people who don't have regrets that should really concern us.

Sami - There's no way I'm going to let that woman come between us. EJ - Neither am I. What Kate wants more than anything else is money, power and respect. Sami - Well good luck to her. EJ - During the conversation my father talked about how this upcoming board meeting would be the opportunity to show everybody who is really in charge of DiMera Ent. Sami - You are EJ. Stefano better not try taking that away from you; not after everything you went through ... EJ - We don't need to worry about that. My father and I are on solid ground. I don't think he'd do anything to unsettle that unless ... Sami - Unless he's that desperate to get Kate back.

Ben - My family's boring. Abby - Somehow I doubt that. Ben - We haven't lived in South Africa, Ireland and ... which one did you like best? Abby - Definitely London. Not just because of the city but because it was also the last place my whole family was together. You didn't really want to ask me about London though. Ben - What makes you say that? Abby - Because I think you were doing that to distract me from thinking about everything with Nick and Gabi. Ben - No, no. I just really wanted to ... Abby - Ben, thank you. Ben - You're welcome but I honestly did want to hear about London and it was nice to learn a little bit more about you. You've had a really interesting life. Abby - Well I wish it were a little less interesting especially the last couple of weeks. Ben - I bet. Abby - You know Nick was ... yeah he was the smartest person I ever knew. And Gabi, she has this beautiful child and a bright future ahead of her. It's such a waste you know. Ben - What do you think happened? Abby - I think one bad decision led to another. It's crazy how fast things spiralled out of control or how easy it is for something like that to happen. Ben - Abigail, they made a lot of bad choices. Look at me. That is not going to happen to you. Abby recalls having sex with EJ at the cabin. Abby - What if it already has.

Rafe - Gabi was desperate to get Chad's attention and Chad only had eyes for Melanie so Gabi got this crazy idea to hire Andrew to stalk her. As it turns out Andrew was mentally unstable obviously and without my sister's knowledge or consent he decided to kidnap Melanie. When my sister found out she didn't say anything. Dan - Melanie could have been killed. How could Gabi ... Rafe - I do not know. Dan - Does Melanie know about this? Rafe - Yeah Gabi told her. Dan - When? Rafe - Not long before Melanie left town. Nick also knew about it. He was using that information to blackmail my sister 'til she shot him. Gabi confessed to all of this which is why it's all coming out now. Dan - So that's why Melanie was acting so strange when I talked to her on the phone about Gabi. I thought she was upset that her great friend was in prison. Why didn't Melanie ever tell me what happened? Rafe - Melanie agreed to keep quiet about the whole thing. Obviously she never forgave my sister for what she'd done. Dan - Of course not. Rafe - Listen, I'm really sorry. Dan - It's not really your fault. You must have been as shocked as I am. Learning all this top on top of your little sister having shot Nick. Rafe - Yeah well, I didn't just find out. After Gabi told Melanie she told me. And I also encouraged Gabi not to tell anyone else.

Segment 6: Will and Sonny are cuddled up on the couch. Sonny - I keep thinking Gabi's going to come home. Will - Me too. Sonny - We talked about having our own place one day but not like this. Will - No, her not being here is strange. Sonny - I keep thinking, who's going to tell me when the Kardishian's break up again. Will - I think they already did. Sonny - See. Who's going to watch Mystery Science Theatre when I'm up with Ari at 2am. Will - Me. Sonny - Who's going to bake brownies when we get the midnight munchies? Will - You. Sonny laughs. Will - I think I'm going to even miss her yelling at us for leaving the toilet seat up. Sonny - We really did have a good thing going, didn't we? Will - We still do. They kiss.

Dan - You're a cop. How could you advise Gabi not to confess what she had done. Rafe - I was protecting my little sister. Dan - What about my daughter? She had to deal with all of this on her own. Her friend betrayed her and that's one of the reason's she left town. She said it was because of Chad but I knew there was a reason. Rafe - You're right. She was upset with Chad because he did not tell her the truth. She also couldn't stand the sight of my sister so ... Dan - Now that Gabi's in prison Melanie finally decided that she might come visit. I could never understand why she'd stayed away for so long. If you had just told Gabi to come forward, take responsibility for what she had done my daughter may have never left in the first place. Rafe - I get that now. I understand that I made a huge mistake. I understand that if Gabi would have paid for what she did then Nick would still be alive. Listen Daniel, I'm really sorry that I caused you and Melanie all this pain. You've been a great friend to me. I know it's a lot to ask but if you can find it in your heart to forgive me ... Dan - I don't think I can talk to you about this. I need to speak to my daughter. Rafe - I understand. He leaves.

Sami - I just don't understand why Stefano would try to freeze you out to make Kate happy. Nothing makes that woman happy. I don't understand what he sees in her anyway. Don't answer that. She just wants the power of being the lady of the DiMera mansion. Now that I'm in her place it's making her crazy. EJ - I'm sure it is. Sami - She's going to do anything to stop us from getting married. Now that she has Stefano's ear she's trying to undermine your authority at DiMera Ent. I swear ... she sees Kate ... speak of the devil. EJ - Where are you going? Sami - It's time to put that bitch in her place. Let's go. EJ just shakes his head but then follows her.

Segment 7: Ben - What are you talking about? You haven't murdered anyone lately, have you? Abby - No but I did make my share of terrible mistakes. Ben - Really, then I'm not sure I should be hanging out with you because I have never made a single mistake in my entire life. She chuckles. Ben - I'm kind of perfect. Haven't you noticed that? You figure that's funny. I'm serious. Abigail, I am a perfect person who always does exactly the right thing at exactly the right time. It's a curse, really, yeah. Abby - Sounds awful for you. Ben - You believe me, don't you? Abby - Yes, of course, totally believe you. Ben - Good. Then trust me when I say this is the right thing to do. He kisses her.

Dan - No Melanie, I just wish you had confided in me when you found out. Of course I understand. Sometimes you just have to handle things your own way. I just have a hard time wrapping my head around it. Yeah, I can't believe Gabi would do something like that. I am so sorry you had to go through this. It is, it's hard when someone you care about, who you think you know so well ends up disappointing you.

Rafe is at the club having a beer. His cell rings. Yeah Mama. The sentencing's over. Mama, yes I was just about to call you actually. The judge accepted the plea. 10 to 20 years with the possibility of parole. I told you, this is good news. Please don't cry. This is the best we could have asked for. No you can't talk to her right now. She's already on her way to prison. Mama, please try not to worry. I promise you I'm going to check on her. I'm going to make sure ... Jordan is there ... Rafe - I know that I promised you that I would make sure that ... Mama ... He puts his phone down. Jordan watches.

Sami with EJ trailing behind follows Kate out the gates of the square into the park. Sami - Kate, I don't know what game you're playing but be prepared to lose just like you always do. Kate - This is exactly why Stefano should be running his own company before EJ runs it into the ground. When Stefano has a problem he takes care of it unlike his son who just goes running to Sami. EJ - Do you really think I'm worried about the likes of you ... Kate - Why are we having this conversation! Why do you think Sami's about to explode. Sami - If you do anything to try and stop our wedding ... Kate - I don't give a damn about your wedding. Sami - Really. Then way are you running around telling everyone in Salem that EJ's making a mistake marrying me. Kate - Why do you care so much about what I say. Is that because the two of us know that I'm right. You know from my past experience, and I know Stefano would agree, there can be only one Mrs. DiMera in the mansion and rest assured, that won't be you.

Dan is INCENSED. Quietly, breathily ashamed at Rafe. He is a cop and Melanie had to deal with this all on her own thanks to Rafe. Rafe is deeply ashamed at betraying the Daniel God. The Daniel God must speaks to Melanie and Rafe slinks away in shame.
Oh holy crap! Saint Orange has lied - BALD FACE LIED - for how many people that aren't EVEN family and he's giving RAFE crap? Hmmm, hasn't he lied repeatedly just for Nicole alone? And JJ? And Teresa? But Rafe lies to protect his SISTER and HE'S the villain? No.

Die, Daniel. . . just die. I hope Eve gives him some awful disease contracted while she was a prostitute and he dies a quick, yet painful death. But can we have something that will render him speechless so we don't have to listen to any more prattling platitudes? PLEASE?!?! :soapbox:

Like Rafe could've fixed anything. Plus Melanie is alive and well (unfortunately), so what's the problem? Daniel acts like a pouty little girl. He didn't get to tell a biggie wiggy secret to his bestie best best Ewic and Jennie Jen didn't think he was a good boy (after she called him great nice wonderful and amazing IN ONE SENTENCE!!!!) and now he finds out his wittle baby is alive and well but could've had some bad boo boos so now he's vewy vewy mad! Waaaaa. At this point I hope Eve sits on his face for three weeks straight just so he will shut the fuck up!
Oh he's just mad because it was a story he couldn't/didn't interlope on. :blulaugh:

Oh wonderful. Days interrupted locally here in dallas for live coverage of a deliberate house burning :frustration:
THAT was the stupidest thing ever (well, only slightly behind Dannifer). I wasn't home and then came home to THAT crap on my DVR! I'm sick of the coverage for that stupidity - what was our affiliate thinking? How is that news that is worth being covered for OVER an hour? HOW??? :soapbox:

I'm in Oklahoma City and I swear the local news interrupts daytime programming here AT LEAST 4 days a week about a house burning. Why can't they just scroll that shit at the bottom of the screen like everything else? A house or tree is burning. What do ya want me to do about it!

And thanks WaterLilly. It's been a hell of a month. It's either something with my gallbladder, pancreas or liver. Having all these tests done. I'm like "way to narrow that down. Thanks" lol. But thank you ;).

Ok back to the regularly scheduled snark. Daniel sucks. ;). Lol
This coverage was a controlled burn that was scheduled, so they CHOSE to cover it. And we literally watched a house burn for over an hour and were told that if we wished to continue viewing it we could log on and watch it ONLINE at the end of the Days hour!?!? Really? :drunk:

Now granted it's at least burnt to the ground unlike Dannifer's relationship and there was more progress than Jordan's secret, but still . . .
