Paige says she's worried about finals. JJ knows it's more than that. Did you talk to somebody about me? What did she say about me?
Lucas tries to help Rafe but Kate calls him on his insensitivity. Lucas apologies, tells Rafe to call if he needs anything and leaves. Kate sits down and says she doesn't want to talk, just drink.
Wow, that Lucas and Rafe scene sounds like it doesn't play out like it was spoiled. The spoiler made it sound like Lucas attacked Rafe for not being a good brother to Gabi. Sounds more like Lucas just ends up innocently putting his foot in his mouth.
Maybe Lucas should go comfort Jordan
So from the looks of it....it does seem like Rafe doesn't break up with Jordan officially when he sleeps with Kate...wow they really are portraying him to be an ass aren't they? He actually has less of an excuse than EJ. At least EJ can use Ross Geller's "We Were On A Break" excuse.

Why should Brady and Theresa appreciate that their parents chose to rescue others over them? They're entitled to be bitter about their parents choosing "a mission" over them. Look at what Steve did with his kid and his wife. It's not admirable.

Look at what Steve did with his kid and his wife. It's not admirable. It's not as if they wanted for anything. With Steve, it is different. He was missing for nearly two decasdes and he chose the mission over his family. John & Shane both have been around more than not. And when they were around, they were kick ass dads. The writers really need to - as I said - take this as a grey more than a black and white.

Actually, for me, the fact that they're still in school and it's mid-June isn't that bothersome. In NJ we easily go to school past the 20th and even as late as the 30th to make up snow days. It's has happened. Our schools are definitely still in session.

So sick of Brady and his revisionist history tale of woe. Can he just overdose already?
This is the first time it didn't feel revisionist. John & Marlena were constantly up in their neck in something when Brady & Belle were kids: Maison Blanche, Possession, Aremid, Paris, Secret Room. The nanny line made me cock my eyebrow, John-style, and that's a fact. John & Marlena were definitely more there for their kids when they could be - but they certainly weren't 9-5 working parents, either. I wish we would see more of the grey area of you weren't there enough over you weren't there. Same with Theresa vs. Shane/Kim. It's more interesting that way.
But being that Brady is 40 something now, shouldn't he have realized by now that his parents were usually gone because of Stefano and it wasn't to spite his sorry butt?
Thing is, I'm not convinced he is supposed to be 40. Martsolf is, yes. He's probably 30s and before the Kristen mess, Brady seemed to have had a fine relationship with John & Marlena. John doing what he did was beyond out of character, but he still did it - so I think its an example of old issues coming out. I wish Brady would have issues with John not being there as an adult the last few years. Mardar created this ideas that they are grown apart as ADULTS and I'm still waiting for that story to happen. My problem is that he LOOKs like he's 42. He was so miscast. Plus having him be with Kristen emphasized that a lot. I have no interest in that story because it's dependent on inventing history that neither happened on screen or off. Brady's entire sorased life has been based on false history and nonsense. It's why I have a hard time with anything that is written now about his childhood or past, because it all comes across as ridiculous nonsensical vitriol. I fully expect this story to go on like this for a while until Brady comes to his senses and gets off the drugs again and we're back to him and John and Marlena being fine with each other. It's pointless and a waste of time. How many times do we have to watch this same story?

In Theresa's case, I thought she has an issue with the parent who was there than with the parent who was rescuing the world. She lumps them altogether sometimes. The argument has been that Shane was off playing hero so Kim had to be both parents and she was too busy being a therapist parent. Which is BS because she was married to another guy (likely Phillip Collier) since about 1994 until 2010, so its not as if there wasn't another parental figure around.

it's interesting the show is paralleling the negative fallouts of John playing superhero & Rafe playing hero in the same episode

As someone who enjoyed those stories I'm not the least bit interested in listening to their children now whining about something I enjoyed watching. It doesn't make them interesting characters in the least.

NO wonder GG was criticizing this story on twitter...I can see why.....with Sami leaving, his sister being carted off to jail, other sis dead and bro in Argentina....there really is no use for Rafe anymore....it does seem if they continue to write him this way by September a good amount of viewers will be wishing he was gone.....when is GG's contract up again? I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he's let go.
