Yessss! This is awesome. The only reason that I didn't want Eileen Davidson to play Susan at all last time around was because I didn't want her to get burnt out and leave again. Knowing that she's already gone and was only around for 12 weeks anyway, I can fully back this move. I bet Susan Banks is home for Spoiler: click to toggle EJ's funeral and death. I just hope they get to share scenes before EJ dies, but not sure what would bring Susan back to Salem. I was kinda thinking that EJami would reunite after his "death" in London or wherever Susan lives now so that could still play out. or even better EJ could really fake his death and go stay with his mother while not letting Stefano or Sami know that he's alive.
Has Elvis even mentioned Susan since returning to Salem?
EJ's mentioned Susan a few different times. Several years ago, EJ told Sami that he wanted to take Johnny to visit Susan and Edmund in England. And when EJ and Nicole dressed as Elvis & Priscilla for a Halloween party, Nicole took some pictures of their costumes and said that she'd send the pictures to Susan. Also, when Kristen first returned to Salem, EJ got angry at Kristen and said that she tried to rip him from his mother's arms. EJ's backstory has been changed several times, but I don't recall him ever saying anything harsh or negative about Susan. He seemed a bit embarrassed by Susan's obsession with Elvis, but I always got the impression that EJ had a soft spot in his heart for his Elvis lovin' mother. I am super excited at the possibility of EJ and Susan appearing in a scene together! This has totally been at the top of my wish list ever since we learned that EJ Wells was actually EJ DiMera. Thanks!
You mention that his backstory has changed... I was always under the impression that it was actually Stefano that raised him.

no one knows who won except the academy and accountants. I dont think it really matters what soap or media press thinks. Regardless if Heather Tom does win, the public thinks Eileen should win. I think the voting system is flawed. If it were up to soap fans, Eileen would take home the emmy. No question about that.

The problem is we have two "darlings" both with status and friends and great reels. The shocker will be if neither Tom or Davidson wins because they end up canceling each other out. That will be an interesting twist if it happens. This category will be the epitome of Must See TV.....online. ;)
lol. OMG Kathy Griffin is going to have such a good time poking fun at the fact that they're streaming online. Anyway, to what I was really quoting you about, I agree, this category has a lot of anticipation around it. I'd be okay if AZ won (though I'd feel terrible for ED), but idk about KKL. If AZ won, I'd have a big smile on my face because she's been robbed before and I adore her work as Nicole Walker. It's a tricky one, this years Emmys. My vote is for E.D. but if her and HT split a vote and AZ walked away with something I wouldn't be upset. But I still say Come On Eileen!!!!!!!

Thanks! You mention that his backstory has changed... I was always under the impression that it was actually Stefano that raised him. It's gone back and forth. When EJ was originally revealed to be Elvis, the story was that he'd been raised by Stefano and in the best boarding schools. But over the last few years, except for once, the story has been that Susan and Edmund raised EJ to adulthood.

It's gone back and forth. When EJ was originally revealed to be Elvis, the story was that he'd been raised by Stefano and in the best boarding schools. But over the last few years, except for once, the story has been that Susan and Edmund raised EJ to adulthood. Yeah, DAYS has been inconsistent regarding EJ's childhood. EJ said he grew up in boarding schools, but then he also said that he grew up at Maison Blanche (which wouldn't explain why he has a British accent). EJ also said that he and his mom moved around a lot when he was young (and I think it was implied that Susan was trying to keep EJ hidden from Stefano). And DAYS has never explained how young EJ ended up reuniting with Stefano. (When EJ was a baby, Stefano believed that Kristen was posing as Susan and that Kristen was raising baby EJ in England. And Stefano thought the safest thing would be for "Kristen" to continue raising EJ. But we never learned how Stefano realized that the real Susan was raising baby EJ and that Kristen was actually trapped as a sex slave on an island.)
It's hard to believe that Susan would willingly let Stefano raise EJ, so I'm hoping that the DAYS writers use Susan's return to give some clarification on her backstory.

I thought he was raised by Susan and Edward up until the time that he could go to boarding school ( I assume around 11 or 12).
There is a quote somewhere (probably in an EJole scene) where EJ is talking about living in this buccolic fantasy and then his dad came along and plucked him out of it. I'll go hunting.

You can go digging, but it's really not necessary, since as Carly said, there are several different and conflicting back stories.

What a mess! He couldn't have been raised at Maison Blanche. That burned down. Sami EJ and Lucas went to Maison Blanche in 2007. So it's back.
I just remembered that EJ told Abby he grew up without a father. Either Edmund doesn't count or, more likely, EJ has gained yet another childhood history because the writers can't be bothered to be consistent.

I usually don't even watch any/all of Alison Sweeney's millions of interviews, but that was really great. I enjoyed the hell out of the whole thing and the host somehow made her more likable than I think she has ever been. The hourglass trophy/gift was AWESOME and I want one.
And yeah, she is definitely playing everyone when it comes to knowing about the EJabby affair.

OMG! Awesome! I loved the little crumbs that we got of Kristen's impersonation of Susan last summer, but to actually have the actual Susan Banks back for a little bit will be SO much fun. Ugh! I hate that this mess of the show is giving me one more little reason to keep watching....
