Does Stefano really always say that about revenge?
Yep, it's an old Klingon proverb, and we all know what a big Trekkie that Stefano is! :D It was used in The Godfather, so I'm guessing that's a little closer to home. :blulaugh:
Although the thought of Stefano in cosplay at Salem Comicon makes me giggle.

LOL.
According to this, the phrase has been around since 1846. http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/revenge-is-a-dish-best-served-cold.html

That's just not true...and no matter how many times it's said it will never be true. Marlena has a lot of faults but she does care for Sami....problem is that Sami was hell bent on ruining other people's lives for shits and giggles....the majority of her early years in Salem were spent making Carrie, Austin, Marlena, John, lucas, etc miserable.....why would her family support that type of behavior....seriously.....if my son upsets or disappoints me I will tell him flat out that I'm disappointed, but that never means that I don't love him...and Marlena has continued to tell Sami that same thing....being disappointed with your kids doesn't mean you don't care about them...actually it means the opposite. If one didn't care, they wouldn't even bother bringing it up int he first place, because the actions wouldn't bother the person in question as they don't give a crap.
This is why I asked for examples last week, lol.
Yeah, I know but I'm not going to go on a mission hunting down clips to prove a point to those that just refuse to believe the truth even when presented with the proof.
You do not need to go to that kind of trouble for my account. I have been watching Sami faithfully since the first day AS set foot in Salem. It is just that I have a difference perspective of their relationship. I think a lot of people see things from Marlena's POV because they love her and relate to her. On the other hand, I see it from Sami's POV for the same reason. At the end of the end, it is just my opinion based on what I have seen over the years.

Because SAMI does care? I know you wish she didn't but Sami totally cares. And if her family didn't care why would they bother with her still?
It's ingrained in who Sami is..she cares about her family....deep down they are her rock....it's true
Yup! She's a truly flawed human being, who loves her family and her children deeply yet she can't seem to do the right thing by them or herself. She's a human conundrum.
I think I am going to save this post forever LOL. I do believe it is the first time I read you write something nice about Sami LOL. I do agree with your post by the way.

So Super Jen can just feel the vibe that Eve is back in town?
Are these writers even trying.
Seriously. There are ways they could have set it up and made it believable without ruining the surprise for the spoiler-free audience. Like, having Jen meet Paige and saying, "You remind me of someone I used to know" - always having this nagging feeling like there was something so familiar about Paige that she couldn't quite put her finger on. It would make sense then that she would go through her yearbook, trying to figure out why she was feeling that way, and Eve could have been brought back into the picture then. That would require Paige and Eve be remotely similar -- which they aren't. Now I could see Paige reminding Jennifer of Frankie; she is sufficiently prudish and sanctimonious.

REALLY good show today! This is the SL I wanted for Sami for SO long! To be the independent, both middle fingers up, HBIC. Who knows where this will end up, but if Kami come out on top & EJ is left whimpering in the corner, I will be beyond pleased!
So far, I'm loving KDP. I look forward to her chewing up Jennifer & spitting her out. Just wish it wasn't over Daniel.
And I'm FINALLY seeing some of the Nicole I love & missed. Sure, she messed up, but so what? Love her being a bitch to Marlena. Now if she would just tell Eric to go get screwed, I'd be in Nikki-heaven.

Are you a fellow speechie? :D I just wasn't sure that a nodule surgery would be elective rather than medically necessary. That kind of stuff always confuses me!
It's technically an elective surgery since it's not REALLY necessary. In fact, the writers picking nodules to be what Eve's ENT problem is is stupid from the "going to Dr Dan cause he's an awesome surgeon" perspective. Eve being a singer and having nodules makes sense, but they really shouldn't be being resolved via surgery. That's not the usual course of actions. Of course, we're probably getting too technical. lol. ;)
Seriously, Kristin Chenoweth won't have surgery to fix a debilitating disease, because there's like a 1% chance of damaging her vocal cords... is there any singer who'd really opt for surgery? Why not have Eve sing in a bar (apparently, character being singer is a forced part of the deal when one hires KDP) and Daniel drinking, have them meet that way? If they so absolutely have to do this shit? Didn't Adele have vocal chord surgery?

Sadly you are right, she does care. If there is any justice in the soap world, she won't have any more f@ck to give. I just don't understand why Sami is expected to go out of her way to help these when they would never do it for her. Where were they when she was rotting in jail last summer? Marlena was bent on bringing Kristen down and she was too busy to fight for sami. Who stood by Sami and fought to save her? Elvis. Who went to the DA and offered to give up his freedom for her and kneeled down and kissed stefano's ring to save her? Elvis. What was Eric doing? Saving Nicole. If I had seen Marlena to go stefano to try to help Sami like she went to stefano to help Eric, maybe I would buy her love for sami. I would say at least she tried. but she was scheming to get Kristen. that was her priority. So I ask why in the world would Sami turn on the one person who has been her rock (in spite of this one mistake) for any of her so called family? I am not here for Sami propping Jarlena on her last months in Salem. If Sami is going to take Ej down, she should do it for the cheating.
Hasn't Marlena gone to Stefano for Sami before? And did it work, NO, so it doesn't make sense that Marlena would have gone to him again. Well she did for Eric which shows you where her heart is. I know it would not have worked, but it would have showed me that she cared enough to try.
Yeah she went to stefano when sami was on death row which was the last time I felt she care about her.

We've responded to your points many times, and you seem to not be interested in actually having a discussion about any of it, which is frustrating on a discussion board in a thread labeled "daily discussion."

I just realized something. If Paige is Frankie's daughter, Melanie is her biological cousin and Theresa is her adoptive cousin and biological aunt. Sort of how like Rex and Cassie are Chelsea's aunt and uncle from Billie and cousins from Roman. Good Lord! I had to think WAY too hard about that because Carly's name was left out as the link . . . :drunk:

Didn't Stefano help with the stay of execution when Sami was on death row? As I recall, he did not help. Kate finally came through with a phony confession from a dying man which cleared Sami. That earned her no points in my book since she was the one who framed Sami in the first place along with her son Lucas. How I hated those two back then LOL.

I can't with porn star Nicole calling Sami trashy and saying that she went through a lot of men. Nicole you have been in salem for a shorter span of time than Sami and you have managed to sleep with over 10 men including boinking father and son and stepbrothers and grandson and grandfather and the godson for good measure. I won't even mention the multitude of men you slept with when you were a porn star. So STFU you doorknob and stop blaming other people for your actions.
I am glad Marlena told Eric what she said. He has the right to to see Nicole's true color. It is one thing to despise Marlena and Sami, but you are threatening to hurt the man you claim to love out of spite, you vindictive bitch. If you were truly sorry, you would do everything in your power to make it up to him and make amends. But hey it is not your fault, it is Marlena's sami's Danifer's and of course God's fault.
Nicole wasn't a porn star willingly. The abuse that Nicole suffered from her father and others in those videos does not make her trashy. She was a victim.
I am so tired of this porn star crap. Gah. Same here. I'm also sick of abuse victims being victimized a second time by being blamed for what happened to them.
And, frankly, I'm tired of women being judged on the amount of sex they do or don't have. There's not a damn thing wrong with a woman enjoying sex.
The last few weeks have had some of the worst portrayals of women and that's saying something for 'Days'.

Didn't Adele have vocal chord surgery? As did Julie Andrews, and it ruined her singing voice. It's really just a crap shoot to have it done, it seems.

Did Jennifer and Eve actually go to school together?
Short version: Yes. Long version: When Eve first came to town, she was hiding the fact that she was Shane's daughter (he didn't know she existed). One of the first people she met in town was Nick Corelli, local pimp. After some maneuvering and manipulation from him, she started working for him. Eventually she got out (and Shane found out she was his daughter), and she started going to high school with Frankie and Jennifer. She had a crush on Frankie, but he only had eyes for Jen. She also got picked on by someone at their high school (played by Steve Burton, no less) because of her past. Frankie ended up leaving town to go to college, breaking up with Jennifer when he left. Eve stuck around and eventually fell in love with her former pimp Nick. He loved her too (and let her sing at his nightclub, Wings), but he held her at arm's length by marrying someone else and then was killed. By the time Nick was killed, Jennifer was in love with Jack and they had found Frankie being held hostage over in "Lawrence's country" (it wasn't formally named Alamania until much later, something TPTB probably mimicked from fans who called it that). When Frankie came back, Eve fell right back into her crush on him. She served up some angst for JnJ first, though - Nick left her a trust in his will that she couldn't receive unless she married "for true love," and Jack needed money to save The Spectator. JnJ were broken up at the time, and Jack and Eve got married to get their hands on the money. Both Frankie and Jennifer flipped out, but eventually the couples sorted themselves out. Frankie fell for Eve and they exited the canvas together in 1991 (headed for, of course, Africa). Just to add a little. Eve only briefly attended the same school as Jennifer and Frankie. They were older than she was by a couple of years and graduated before Eve. When Eve got into trouble with Harris (played by Steve Burton), who seduced her, and Jake (played by Scott Reeves), who was involved in the car accident that led to everyone thinking Nick was killed, Eve left to go to a private school. By that time, Jennifer was already working at The Spectator.
So this whole notion of Eve being Jennifer's rival for Frankie in high school is really forced. Eve was the little girl who had a crush on Frankie, when he was with Jennifer. Frankie never was interested in Eve at the time.
Also, regarding Nick. At the time Nick was killed, Eve and Nick were together. He married April, but it was more a marriage of convenience. She was trying to push Mike Horton (who she loved) to get back together with Robin for the sake of Jeremy, and Nick was trying to keep Eve away (because she was too young and, at the time, he thought she was too reliant on her following Shane's apparent death). After April left town, however, Nick and Eve did get together, and she moved in with him. The day he was killed, she overheard him planning to kill Shane (to help Lawrence Alamain and Jencon).
Another thing. The money Jack got to save the Spectator was money Eve received from Nick's will, which required her to marry "for love." Nick appointed Julie to judge that Eve's marriage was legitimate. (During this time, Julie took Eve under her wing and served as a bit of a mentor, so the idea that Eve would have bad feelings for the Hortons is ridiculous.) In any event, when Frankie finally fell for Eve, she basically agreed to divorce Jack and gave him all of the money she had received from Nick. So Jack made out like a bandit in the process. He and Eve never slept together.
Any claim that the divorce was bogus is going to be pretty ludicrous. It was shown on-screen, with Jack and Eve signing, after being prepared by Mickey Horton.
As for Victor slut-shaming Eve. WTF??? He and Eve barely had any contact at the time. She was in high school during most of the time and didn't do anything that would have put herself on his radar other than as Shane's daughter and Kim's step-daughter. That was just ridiculous.
And, finally, what is this with Eve needing money for surgery? FFS. Would they please tell us what happened to the Donovan fortune if we're supposed to swallow that Eve can't pay for a surgery and Theresa has to find a sugar daddy to buy her a purse? It wasn't long ago that Shane had millions in stocks and bonds, plus the DiMera Mansion and the manor in England. This is like the writers telling us in 10 years that Johnny DiMera needs a scholarship if he is going to be able to afford to go to college.

Does Stefano really always say that about revenge?
Lysie, when she said that I wondered if Stefano had EVER actually said that. I wish that if he has said it in the past that someone could find that clip! I feel like he said it when he wanted Rafe's peen cut off. Can't find it though so maybe not.
I also thought one of EJ/Kristen said this recently as well, that Stefano always says this. Idk though, can't find mention of it.
Anyway Kristen does say it here around 7:30 though.

Editted to add: this is as close as I was able to find to Stefano saying it.
