EJ's a total idiot if he doesn't even SUSPECT that Sami might know.
Ej's never met this Sami...that is why it fits...she's been an insipid moron ever since they met....I'm glad that at least I'm seeing the Sami I once loved come back to Salem for her last final months.
I think he met her when she faked the amnio report, in the burning cabin and when Ejami was scheming against Nick.
Dr. Nicole Walker's diagnosing Eric's problems was just too much to take and a major WTF.
Victor talking about Eve like he holds a major grudge against her just doesn't make sense. Why does Victor have a grudge against someone he's last seen 20+ years ago, when she was a young woman in her early 20s? I didn't get the purpose of this scene.
Sami and Kate's weird hug. WTF was that and what was the point?
EJ plotting to take over DE. Haven't we seen this movie before? Didn't EJ kiss the ring and promise to be a good little boy. When did this feud start again?
Shit I hated with the fire of a thousand suns..
cake fight -- I found it juvenile
I didn't understand the hugging between Kate and Sami either. In fact it left me feeling perplexed and just totally confused =/
The cake fight they were acting like they were younger than the age of 12

Did Jennifer and Eve actually go to school together?
Short version: Yes.
Long version: When Eve first came to town, she was hiding the fact that she was Shane's daughter (he didn't know she existed). One of the first people she met in town was Nick Corelli, local pimp. After some maneuvering and manipulation from him, she started working for him.
Eventually she got out (and Shane found out she was his daughter), and she started going to high school with Frankie and Jennifer. She had a crush on Frankie, but he only had eyes for Jen. She also got picked on by someone at their high school (played by Steve Burton, no less) because of her past. Frankie ended up leaving town to go to college, breaking up with Jennifer when he left.
Eve stuck around and eventually fell in love with her former pimp Nick. He loved her too (and let her sing at his nightclub, Wings), but he held her at arm's length by marrying someone else and then was killed. By the time Nick was killed, Jennifer was in love with Jack and they had found Frankie being held hostage over in "Lawrence's country" (it wasn't formally named Alamania until much later, something TPTB probably mimicked from fans who called it that).
When Frankie came back, Eve fell right back into her crush on him. She served up some angst for JnJ first, though - Nick left her a trust in his will that she couldn't receive unless she married "for true love," and Jack needed money to save The Spectator. JnJ were broken up at the time, and Jack and Eve got married to get their hands on the money. Both Frankie and Jennifer flipped out, but eventually the couples sorted themselves out. Frankie fell for Eve and they exited the canvas together in 1991 (headed for, of course, Africa).
Just to add a little. Eve only briefly attended the same school as Jennifer and Frankie. They were older than she was by a couple of years and graduated before Eve. When Eve got into trouble with Harris (played by Steve Burton), who seduced her, and Jake (played by Scott Reeves), who was involved in the car accident that led to everyone thinking Nick was killed, Eve left to go to a private school. By that time, Jennifer was already working at The Spectator.
So this whole notion of Eve being Jennifer's rival for Frankie in high school is really forced. Eve was the little girl who had a crush on Frankie, when he was with Jennifer. Frankie never was interested in Eve at the time.
Also, regarding Nick. At the time Nick was killed, Eve and Nick were together. He married April, but it was more a marriage of convenience. She was trying to push Mike Horton (who she loved) to get back together with Robin for the sake of Jeremy, and Nick was trying to keep Eve away (because she was too young and, at the time, he thought she was too reliant on her following Shane's apparent death). After April left town, however, Nick and Eve did get together, and she moved in with him. The day he was killed, she overheard him planning to kill Shane (to help Lawrence Alamain and Jencon).
Another thing. The money Jack got to save the Spectator was money Eve received from Nick's will, which required her to marry "for love." Nick appointed Julie to judge that Eve's marriage was legitimate. (During this time, Julie took Eve under her wing and served as a bit of a mentor, so the idea that Eve would have bad feelings for the Hortons is ridiculous.) In any event, when Frankie finally fell for Eve, she basically agreed to divorce Jack and gave him all of the money she had received from Nick. So Jack made out like a bandit in the process. He and Eve never slept together.
Any claim that the divorce was bogus is going to be pretty ludicrous. It was shown on-screen, with Jack and Eve signing, after being prepared by Mickey Horton.
As for Victor slut-shaming Eve. WTF??? He and Eve barely had any contact at the time. She was in high school during most of the time and didn't do anything that would have put herself on his radar other than as Shane's daughter and Kim's step-daughter. That was just ridiculous.
And, finally, what is this with Eve needing money for surgery? FFS. Would they please tell us what happened to the Donovan fortune if we're supposed to swallow that Eve can't pay for a surgery and Theresa has to find a sugar daddy to buy her a purse? It wasn't long ago that Shane had millions in stocks and bonds, plus the DiMera Mansion and the manor in England. This is like the writers telling us in 10 years that Johnny DiMera needs a scholarship if he is going to be able to afford to go to college.
I can see Eve having a grudge against some of the Hortons for taking advantage of her (Jack for taking her money, Julie for not being a proper mentor and agreeing to the marriage with Jack, Mickey for the one sided divorce where Eve lost everything). I mean, she was young and impressionable. Jack married her and took her money. Jennifer's uncle represented both her and Jack in a divorce where she lost all her money and Julie allowed her to get into a marriage of convenience where she lost all of her trust fund. I think she has a valid argument that they took advantage of her.

Some random thoughts, now that I've seen the second half of the episode (although these are all about the first half, ironically):
I realize that I'm probably putting far more thought into this than it deserves, but Victor's comment about Aeschylus doesn't seem to add up exactly. Even if we assume that Victor had been paraphrasing (although that's not what he said), I still can't find anything online that would explain the reference. I think I know what story the reference would have originated in, but I can't find anything that cites it.
Anyway, Victor's comment about the "baubles" Kate had received from Stefano had made me think of something -- it would have been neat if Stefano had been sending Kate jewelry that contained hidden listening devices, allowing him to eavesdrop and find out Titan's secrets without anyone knowing how he was doing so.
I wonder if Sami's comment about the weather was supposed to be a hint of this storm that is supposedly headed to Salem? If there is indeed a storm headed to Salem, as opposed to that just being a metaphorical embellishment various sites made up to describe Hurricane Sami.
I've been meaning to complain about this for a while now, but Abby still hasn't acknowledged the fact that she's Arianna's godmother -- something that I've been waiting for her to do in the wake of Gabi's confession and imprisonment.
i love how dejected Harold looks as he walks away after Sami asks why he let Kate in and Kate replys b/c he'll be working for her soon. I'm pretty sure Stefano must have something on him b/c he obviously hates his job.
Remind me again why Sami should care about what anybody did to her family when they don't care about her.
Because SAMI does care? I know you wish she didn't but Sami totally cares. And if her family didn't care why would they bother with her still?
Sadly you are right, she does care. If there is any justice in the soap world, she won't have any more f@ck to give.
I just don't understand why Sami is expected to go out of her way to help these when they would never do it for her. Where were they when she was rotting in jail last summer? Marlena was bent on bringing Kristen down and she was too busy to fight for sami. Who stood by Sami and fought to save her? Elvis. Who went to the DA and offered to give up his freedom for her and kneeled down and kissed stefano's ring to save her? Elvis. What was Eric doing? Saving Nicole. If I had seen Marlena to go stefano to try to help Sami like she went to stefano to help Eric, maybe I would buy her love for sami. I would say at least she tried. but she was scheming to get Kristen. that was her priority. So I ask why in the world would Sami turn on the one person who has been her rock (in spite of this one mistake) for any of her so called family? I am not here for Sami propping Jarlena on her last months in Salem. If Sami is going to take Ej down, she should do it for the cheating.
Brandi storyline was very badly written storyline that trying pretty exclude Sami family from the story so Sami abuser will whitewash. In first time Sami was excused on murder marlena beg Stefano help with Sami and she will do anything he ask her while Eric go uncover to prove Sami innocent with Billie help when Roman each day find somethin to help Sami and Sami behave way worse than it unbelievable that Sami family w;ill do nothing for anyone watch the show for years

In this debate I am in the school of thought that believes Marlena loves Sami but she's a bad mother. She also did a lot of questionable things that negatively impacted her daughter. Like Sami, Marlena has bad instincts.

I missed Victor quoting the great Greek tragedian Aeschylus. What did he say?
Whenever Days writers insert a clever reference into one of their character's dialogue they always mangle the original or it's an inappropriate reference.
About Abigail and Ari, I find the whole thing really disappointing. I expected some ripple effect. But nothing of the sort, for the Hortons, Nick never existed and the Gabi thing is done with. Ari being motherless doesn't seem to matter or concern them, except JJ.
I guess the only complication from the reveal is Jonas/Maggie being affected and Rafe sleeping with Kate. Beyond that everyone pretty much moved on.
Here what they can do with eve. Eve hating Jennifer because of Frankie dump her because the only woman loved is Jennifer(in 2005 Frankie written he never loved anyone but Jennifer)and she does not ask father help because he would not approve her hiding Frankie child from him and that why she used her former last name so she can hide Paige from Frankie.Eve gave the money to help Jack but with Jack being dead all money goes to Jennifer which she hates so off course she will want her money back.and with Jack and Mickey being dead it easier to claim she still married to Jack even when is not true
