I bet Jane Elliot warned Deidre ...
Wouldn't be surprised if Nancy messaged everybody she had the number to, because that's just what you do as a human. That was a DISASTER. Train wreck. I mean, I feel violated, it was THAT horrid.

i just checked the # of views on livestream, and right now they're just over 7,000 :-/ that's not good

edit: i just mean for the future of streaming the telecast.

edit again: well they're climbing to 8K rather fast so maybe I spoke too soon.
Well, once people finish their episode of True Blood or Penny Dreadful then I'm sure they'll tune in to the stream. :blulaugh:
well now they're over 9K, so you may be right! lol

DAYS and Y&R split the acting awards 50/50....this has only happened ONCE before....20 years ago when GL and OLTL split the acting awards evenly.

At least Heather Tom didn't win another Emmy, I am kinda over her and her over-acting, well done to Eileen.
B&B won nothing tonight, if I am correct, Bradley Bell won't be happy.
Billy Miller, Amelia Heinle - yep, well deserved!
Chandler Massey? Not sure about that.
Hunter King? No comment.

Y&R winning the Best Drama award was pretty ridiculous, to be quite honest.

So has Massey made DAYS history? He's won the most Emmys for a role on DAYS, right?
Yes, Mac Carey won two for lead actor in 1974 and 1975. Chandler tied him last year and now has three, the most-ever for any actor on Days.

So he's the Heather Tom of that category?

When I was viewing, there were at best over 35,000 streamers at once.

I think the streaming peak was during the Jeanne Cooper memorial win, after that the stream started to slow down and pause for the first time for me.

Seeing Eileen as Kristen again was all I ever wanted. She's been my favorite soap character for 17 years and after missing her for a decade and a half and having her pretty much erased from the history of the show I would've been happy to have her back for just a day. To have her back for a year was unbelievable. Knowing she's back for a third stint has me over the moon. And now there's an Emmy win on top of it all.

Congrats to Eileen on her long overdue and well deserved win!

.
video behind the spoiler tag

Spoiler: click to toggle

Jason Thompson, Kelly Monaco, Michelle Stafford
present the "entertainment news" award.
It is a tie between "Entertainment Tonight" and "Extra".

Kelly Monaco is clearly -- um -- on something.

The Entertainment Tonight person has
a long, long, long .... speech and they have to pull her off the stage.

Mario Lopez come on stage to accept the award for Extra and he politely takes about 20 seconds.

But you have to watch the expression on the faces of Michelle Stafford and Jason Thompson!

To me GH was terrible in 2013 until the fall. Jane Elliot is great but I didn't think her reel stacked up well against EH's and AH's. Lead Actor belonged to Billy Miller. So the only chance GH had was with Bryan Craig, who while I think he is good (especially considering it's his first year), the hype has been a little OTT. I heard Jamey Giddens saying Bryan Craig could be competing in the Supporting and Leading categories, LOL.

I am so happy for Eileen!! I was worried that Heather Tom was going to win AGAIN.

Eric and Chandler winning was great too! I wonder who put a clip of Guy Wilson instead of Chandler? What a fuck up!

It's a shame that the Daytime Emmy Awards are so poorly put together every year though. It was better than last year, but compared to other award shows it was terrible.

Acceptance Speech
"I snagged it! First of all, I have to thank Heather [Tom] for sharing this year. I have so much affection and gratitude towards everybody at Days of Our Lives. Ken Corday and Greg, Lisa [de Cazotte] and Albert [Alarr], all the directors and the writers, of course, Gary Tomlin, Chris Whitesell. Thank you for letting me bring it, and then bring it again. To the crew, who has our hearts. My cast, Dee [Hall] and Drake [Hogestyn], [Eric] Martsolf, you're so much fun. I love you so much. For my sons, Duke, Vinny and Jesse, I adore you. And my husband, Vincent Van Patten, thank you for supporting me my love, in whatever I want to do and whatever I don't want to do and whatever I'm not sure I'm going to do. And thank you for being my partner in creating a life I've always dreamed about. Thank you."

Acceptance Speech
"My wife said, write a speech, write a speech. I'm like, baby I don't need to write a speech. She's like, write a speech. I don't need to...It's got to be hard being right all the time, baby, you are right all the time. Days of Our Lives...it's been tremendously good to me. This past year, it's been like Christmas for me. I was given this beautiful, tragic storyline to portray...My co-star at the time was some girl named Eileen, you might know her, Davidson...She's really tall. She's very pretty and she's a veteran that doesn't act like a veteran. I love you for that, where are you? She brought out the best in me, thank you, you really did. You really helped me step my game up and I'm holding this trophy and I want to attribute some of that to you. I really do. That table right there, you stud muffins you...Ken Corday, Bruce [Evans], Joseph [Mascolo]...you're legends. You've created a legendary show and my affiliation with it. I'm very humbled by it every day, I don't take it for granted at all. Thank you for taking a boy from Passions and bringing him on to your show. That was brave and I appreciate it. Thank you to my agent, Ellis Talent Group, Marshak & Zachary for your guidance, you folks are beautiful. My Mom and my Dad, they had the guts, and I understand this as a father now, it's now easy to tell your kid to go out and pursue your dream. It would have been much easier for me to be a lawyer, but, screw that! I'm having a pretty good time. And lastly, my little circle at home: Chase and Mason, I hope you are watching me on you're Ipads, but I know you're not. I know you're playing Minecraft and that's cool, but we're going to watch this when I come home, because this is important. And there's a little vision of white sitting right there, that's my rock, that's my girl, thank you. I love you more than I can say. You've been with me from the beginning and you taught me that the grass is not greenest over there. It's greenest where you water it and I'm going to water it for you as long as I can. I love you. Soap community, thank you, the resurgence of soap operas. Here's to it. Thank you."

"Wow, you see my reel? That was awesome. First of all I want to thank everyone at Days and NBC for this amazing, amazing ride. Four years, it was such an incredible experience. I'm so grateful for the opportunity. Also, I'd like to thank my Mom and my Dad, and my Mimi and Poppa, and Brian. My awesome manager, Scottie Beets...When I moved out here to go to college, I never thought...a soap opera was the last thing on my mind, but because of everyone on the show, the cast and the crew, I have absolutely no regrets at all. I love you guys so much. Thank you very much."
