I hadn't read that this stint ended in a cliffhanger. Awesome!

I hadn't read that this stint ended in a cliffhanger. Awesome! Actually, if we're talking about the comment she made saying that "She knew Kristen needed to be back after the cliffhanger ending, she was talking about the earlier stint that ended on November. She knew that she had to come back after that.

IDK, that is not the feeling I got, but I hope you are right!
I can't believe she wrapped her stint already. UGH. I'm just curious as to how you're getting that when she just said it was the best year of her life. IDK how she really feels about anything, but I do think that what we said (and what she said) about her contracts make sense. But I feel like every time she says something really positive about Days people pull from that that she hates Days, and I just literally do not understand that.

I'm torn, I kinda get both standpoints.
I wouldn't say she "hates" "Days", but there has to be something why she prefers Y&R. And it's not because she has friends there (To be honest, quite a few of them left the show. And it also looks like she really likes "Days" cast and crew). I'm not sure how to describe it but there was such a weird feeling in her interviews from 2013 that she idealized Y&R: after she taped there for their 40th, she was talking about nice fresh atmosphere on the show etc etc etc which in no way was true: I think, Griffith, Stafford and Miller leaving the show says a lot.
Maybe it's just money, maybe "Days" really can't offer enough for a normal workload. Or it also might be the dark (maybe too dark) direction for the character. I don't know what but something is really not ok for her on "Days".

I doubt they would even bother with a DOOL clause if there wasn't future storyline for Kristen and if this story arc is going to end with 100% finality in October.

She said so in one of the interviews. She said that "she knew she had to come back after the cliffhanger". But she didn't state anything about how this new stint would be ending. But it's pretty much a given that if she is able to do more stints in the future, she'll probably leave town again.

Why does it need to be something more than that?

I just simply think she feels Y&R to be more closer to her emotionally, I mean, who wouldn't, after she's spent almost 20 years there.

Right. But why wouldn't it be the things we listed? She has already stated that she makes less money for more work at Days. Why does it need to be something more than that? It doesn't have to be more than that, IMO. I could totally understand that as a reason to choose Y&R. But I remember her saying in one of the first interviews after she left that money wasn't an issue. I don't know if she really meant it or if she said this because it's still quite a taboo to say otherwise. I'm just trying :) to assume that people are trying :) to be honest about their feelings in their interviews.
One more thing, in her SOD interview (August or September 2013) she said her immediate answer to the question if she would come for shorter arcs was something like "no, no way would I do this" (I don't remember the exact wording), but then she thought it over and changed her mind. It was kinda weird that her first reaction was so negative.

Re: bolded. Idealizing Y&R? Character direction? Money issues? I meant the overall, that something is not okay for her on Days. I don't think it's about "not wanting to be at Days", but just about wanting to be at Y&R more. And yes, the money and easier work, of course. I mean, who wouldn't take that deal, really :D I know I would, lol.
Also, on the pay issue, I actually think it might have been a taboo, as you said. Because actually, until this year's interview, I don't remember her ever saying that before, and I really think she didn't say it anywhere in 2012 when she was making the transfer.

But... (Quote from SOD):
- Quote:
-
<...>Greg Meng [co-executive producer] said, "How do you feel about coming back for a short story arc?" And I was like, "There is absolutely no way I even could think about that." Then she thought about it, talked to her husband and said she was open to it.
How do you see this? Was she so fed up with the role?

Yeah, I mean, I think it would be natural for her at that point in time when she was actually quitting, to not even entertain the thought of someday returning. I mean, she must have been exhausted and if she really didn't want to do it anymore, I'm sure she had been thinking about it for a long time. But I'm just speculating as you know :D

sorry to loose Kirsten, she did a great job. Sorry to see her go. I have seen her in other soaps. Did she work in Santa Barbara? Does anyone know if she'll be replaced or will her character just die?

Yes, Eileen Davidson (aka Kristen) played (the last) Kelly on "Santa Barbara". Most likely, the role of Kristen won't be recast and there's a possibility that Eileen might come back for smaller arcs in the future.
