What was going on? There was Fafe & Ejaylor, both which I hated, but were they drawing those numbers? I would hope there was another better story that brought the viewers.

lysie, can you figure out what the average was last year this time? Pretty sure they were pretty much getting that viewership though I think the Network is more interested in demos
2,517,000

I can check the demos, too.
That's interesting that it's so close to last year. But it seems TY GH's numbers have been solidly ahead of Days, whereas LY they were more even. And I'm thinking TY Days is trending down as opposed to LY it was trending up at this point.

Those weren't good numbers then. That was down from 751,000 the year before and 854,000 in 2009 (again, this is just the first 7 months of each of those years. I should have just done the full year, lol).

wow I thought they might be slightly down from last year, guess not as they are actually up. Overall, the show is the cheapest produced and wonder if Tomlin/Whitsell took a pay cut too to come and write for the show. As long as the show does better than last year or consistent with what NBC likes for renewal there will be no changes.

What worries me is that Monday wasn't stronger for Days. Luckily Tuesday was strong. Friday usually isn't. People DVRing and not watching until Sunday is being blamed by some, but they eventually watch and then come back strong on Monday. If you look at the other soaps, Monday has the highest ratings.

People didn't see anything Friday to make them come back Monday. They heard Kristen was back and checked in Tuesday, then left again. I find the Friday number scary. If they don't get much of a bounce on Monday again for next week, they may have another drop in total viewers without anything new like Kristen to bring them back later in the week.

So, the yearly average is actually better now than it was this time last year? Well, that's surprising.

Wow Fridays ratings are horrid!
Monday
Kristen returns - and it seems she's up to no good!
Brady's fate is decided.
Marlena has a really bad feeling about John.
Nicole tells Eric that's she's made her decision. How will he react?

Tuesday
Kristen demands some serious answers from Daniel.
Eve blackmails Theresa into helping her out.
A vengeful Sami drags Kayla into her evil mission to destroy Abigail.
Will strikes back at his mum.

Wednesday
Abigail is furious when she learns of Sami's latest stunt. has Sami pushed her too far?
Kate has a mysterious proposal for Victor.
Daniel is horrified when he realises exactly what Kristen has in store for Brady.

Thursday
Abigail and Sami have a major standoff!
EJ is left stunned by a revelation from Victor.
Kristen uses force to get what she wants from Daniel.
Rafe is curious when he catches Jordan with Clyde.

Friday
Daniel takes action to make sure Kristen pays for her crimes.
Sami drops a bomb on Jordan. How will she react?
Clyde issues Ben with a very stern warning.
Well, I remember that this Friday was pretty bad...

That's a pretty rough week overall. And there's Mitch's dip below 2 million!
Ok THAT must be pretty damn close to the all-time lowest daily rating.

2013 - 565,000
2014 - 595,000

And that's why we haven't heard anything about changes yet.
How about the average since end of February sweeps? Seems like numbers were really inflated for the first two months of the year for all soaps because of the polar vortex, and have dropped significantly for the last five months or so. Maybe it's a stretch, but I'm still trying to find some hope for a regime change, LOL.

I wonder if it's Corday pushing Daniel? I saw it listed on Wikipedia that KC is credited with creating Doctor God. Of course that doesn't mean it's true but these writers have all been better in the past.

Days is back to being just background noise for me 90% of the time. I just don't care that much about any of the characters they shove in my face day after day. Of course, the few I still love (Hope, Lucas, Kayla, WilSon) are hardly seen. There's no couples/love story to root for (I love Haiden, but I can't totally root for them until these hacks stop dicking around with the Bo situation), my beloved Kristen WASTED on stupid Dan & I can't even with what they've reduced Nicole to! :flipoff:

Corday is credited with a lot of things he has nothing to do with.

And I fail to figure out if that's a good thing or a bad thing. When he gets involved, things get stupid....when he doesn't appeared to be involved, things get awful. After many years with this show, I've never fully understood what he does and doesn't do. I do know, however, that he's a train wreck, albeit an entertaining one, when he does those "Plan To Save Days" cover stories.
