KKL Absence let reality slap Brooke in the face http://soapcentral.com/bb/news/2014/1229-lang.php B&B's Brooke is baaaaack, and portrayer Katherine Kelly Lang says she's in for an eyeful when she returns to L.A. After months of being in Europe to deal with Forrester Creations business, The Bold and the Beautiful's Brooke Logan (played by Katherine Kelly Lang) is finally returning to the States. And in typical soap opera fashion, her reentrance in January of 2015 will be anything but typical. Brooke left the canvas several months ago so Lang could compete in Ballando con le Stelle, the Italian version of Dancing With the Stars -- which the actress tells TV Guide was anything but the wonderful experience she was hoping for. "I thought it would be fun to go over and compete on a dance program. Well, I was wrong!" she says with a laugh. "It turned out to be more of a reality show with dance involved and they really want to provoke you. They want to see your reactions. They want to see tears and anger. And they really want to see you fire back some retorts, which is so not my style. I don't like reality shows at all so, when I realized what was really going on, I was taken aback. I think maybe they thought they'd hired my character. They kept calling me Brooke. I kept saying, 'My name is Kelly!'" Unfortunately, Brooke's return to Los Angeles on Thursday, January 22, doesn't look to be any smoother. In addition to already knowing from Hope (Kim Matula) that Deacon (Sean Kanan) and Quinn (Rena Sofer) are a couple, the fashion executive is slapped in the face by the news that her son, Rick (Jacob Young), has been up to no good -- as has his wife, Caroline (Linsey Godfrey). "While she was away in Europe, she did hear that Rick and Caroline were having problems but she's hoping the marriage will be fine. When she finds out why it's not fine -- and that Ridge [Thorsten Kaye] was involved -- she is not happy. It's kind of funny how she deals with the situation, which I will not spoil." No matter what goes down upon Brooke's return, Lang is of the opinion that her on-screen absence was necessary. "When I left B&B to go do the dance show, I felt that Brooke was starting to spin faster and faster in a circle, so my [exit] was good timing," she says. "It was an opportunity for her to get away, tend to Forrester business in Europe, and let reality slap her in the face. She really needs to wake up. When she comes back to all of these problems in L.A. she has to ask herself, 'What is happening to my life? Who am I at this age? Is this what I want my life to be?'" |

Brooke and Hope are both delusional in their own self importance. I am sure Brooke will be more pissed off at Caroline and Rdge, and coddle her son by excusing or justifying his actions while blaming it all on Cridge. The show has been good without Brooke and Hope. JY and KM are doing a great job as Rick and Maya. I can't wait for these 2 to go down Cridge and Batie style. |

Hate Brooke beyond words and I don't think KKL is a very strong actress but this interview made me kind of like her ..... though not enough to want her back. |

I've been watching since the beginning, too, and Brooke really is pivotal character. She started out as a kind of Cinderella character, smart, beautiful, kind, hard working and poor. I don't care for some of the paths she's taken, but I think she was intended, originally, to be the character that the average viewer could identify with and root for. Too bad Bill Bell Sr. isn't writing the stories anymore. Even if I didn't like what a character was doing, I cared about what they did when he ran the show. |

The show has actually been better without her and KM. Ratings don't lie. |

This wouldn't even still be a show without her feud with Stephanie and love of Ridge. |

Exactly and with the returns of Brooke and Steffy in the middle of this Forrester battle ground storyline their presence will be felt in it. Right now it's just heating up it's going to be smoking once we get Bill, Katie, Brooke and Steffy completely involved. The Bold and the Beautiful from episode 1 has always been the three core families the Forresters, Spencers and the Logans there is no getting around that fact. With the departure of Stephanie, Brooke and Eric are the two most pivotal characters needed on this show since they are the only two around from episode 1 that were there. (I'm not counting the recast of Ridge) although I know Ridge is a huge factor as well. Edited by Fafokahw, Jan 7 2015, 10:56 AM.

And the ratings hit a four year high after Steffy and Taylor left. Does that mean Steffy isn't needed? |

Nobody misses the triangle, Hope's has been in a triangle with Steffy and then she was between brothers. Not many enjoyed it because it lasted way too long and we saw no growth from Hope. Before she went to Italy, she played the blame game again. |

We can agree on that. The triangle sucks. It sucks the life out of everyone. They should've just gone with Steffy/Liam and Hope/Wyatt since they actually seem popular. |
