Things don't look that bad when you look at those quarterly numbers.
Exactly, as much as I think the show has gotten stale, their quarterly/season to date numbers arent that bad or enough to warrant a change.

It's the yearly comparisons that I'm counting on.

I don't know why but i feel like no matter how low they go there's no hope for new writers.
I was thinking the same thing. These Days writers suck so bad, but Corday loves them. Days is pathetic now.

I think Sony and NBC were expecting lower ratings because they had a great fall/winter last year and they just lost Ali Sweeney and James Scott. I don't think they'll make a change until the ratings are down the toilet and they are in real jeopardy of being canceled next year.

^ My face watching DAYS

They dont necessarily HAVE to make a change....they just have to start doing their damn jobs and stop trying to have a "new character revolution".

but they'll discount them because of the weather last year...just like people were discounting the bumps in Jan and Feb of 2014 and blaming them on the cold weather.....I think we have a better shot at 'real' number comparisons by comparing year to year from March on....then again this week it's brutally cold in about 90% of the country....but the difference between last and this year is that we aren't getting any major snow that would close down schools, jobs and have more people staying home stranded to watch soaps......so who knows.

Maybe. My understanding is that they don't really care about that. They certainly didn't attribute it to weather at the time.

I get the feeling they are running with these guys until they go over the cliff.

I think with KC it's going to be a case of you don't miss the water until the well runs dry. He's not going to realize what he has loss until Days has been cancelled and then he'll give some interview where he talks about how he now realizes all the mistakes that were made and how he was foolish to not listen to the fans more in an effort to get the fans to fight for the show.

I am sure they just wanna go to 50, as it is auspicious.

That said, I think it ok to note J&M day drove non-counted ratings. So DDH and DDHer are dealing with air dates/ratings that dont count. And yet-- I stopped watching when they left and came back (to utter disappointment) when they returned....
