Good Lord. Ok, every show lost viewers, Days didn't lose the most for the week or the most for the year...so there's that. But DAYS is in bad need of some changes. Too bad they won't listen to viewer's ideas. I just noticed Y&R had double the viewers that DAYS had...that's pretty pitiful. |

We Still Need It To Crash More! Days never makes any changes until it seems like it almost too late, and we are there right now. The show is boring, irrelevant, and it lacks that essential element that makes it "Days Of Our Lives". I don't want it to be perfect, but I would like it to feel like the show I grew up watching when I tune in. Until the show gets down to around 2 million viewers, I'm afraid they won't completely overhaul it. Corday likes TomSell, as does Meng, so it will take a few more viewers dropping off before they fire them. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope so. |

Here's an idea. Why don't the writers post here asking for story ideas. They can read them and if they don't want to use them that is fine. At least they can hear our ideas  |

These ratings are lower than DH/Tomlin & MarDar had. I don't get it. Why haven't we heard any mass changes behind the scenes? The only answer I can fathom is KC is trying to unload the show on another buyer. |

I honestly don't think they care what we think or want. I think they feel they are writing what the fans want. Didn't one of them say on the NBC site that they are writing stories that the fans want to see? I don't know who is feeding them that bullshit, but they are sorely misguided. |

The demo is really close but we are still about 100K+ higher in total viewers than at Days lowest point with those writers. I always thought that the demo is the striking point for KC, but maybe its a combo of both? The writers knowing that AS and JS were leaving in the fall should have jammed packed Nov sweeps with excellent drama packed storylines...instead they didn't and it seems they waited for NOW to start something....it might be too late |

NBC ratings are generally down and NBC knows that they wouldn't get more eyeballs with the Fifth Hour of Today. The show is renewed until September 2016, so there is not widespread panic, especially since the formula seems to be: Hire inexpensive talent and work them heavily Reduce in-house costs as much as possible Go for the "bang" only during the four sweeps periods Feature wildly "popular" returns every 3-4 months Stepping back from the daily drudgery, it's rather remarkable that two of the featured stories are a gay romantic triangle (controversial) and a stolen baby embryo (sci fi). From afar, those are gangbuster storylines. It was just barely a year ago that the DOOL Facebook page was deluged with torrents of hatred, vitriol, and anger about featuring a gay wedding. Now we are seeing a rather explicit triangle being played out. And they are going to milk the stolen embryo storyline until the kid is in grammar school. Corday isn't trying to sell the show. He is trying to make affordable programming that gets acceptable ratings, make money for the network, and persuade them that the Fifth Hour of Today is a worse programming option. |

I honestly dont think they will do anything unless they dip to 2 million or below and why would they with their budget? The show is making NBC money regardless because of their piss poor budget and taping schedule. |

The show needs to drop another 200K-300K viewers and another 75-100K 18-49 viewers before ANYTHING is done IMO. |

I'm telling ya, I think they look to Facebook for feedback/ideas. When FB majority was for Dannifer, that's what we got. Then when t changed to the majority wanting Dicole, look who we're stuck with?! Every FB thread from Days, it's dominated by talk of Dan, Melanie, Brelanie & WilSon/Paul. It's rare (at least for me) to see people on FB asking for Jarlena, Rafe, Nicole sans Dan, etc. The only story they discuss that I like, is Wilson/Paul. |

I'm a Jarlena fan, and I don't chat about Days on facebook. I didn't even like the Days official page on there. I like twitter better. |

Getting a representative feedback can be a serious problem for any show. It's really difficult. You can read Facebook, Twitter, boards, and still don't know the real tendencies, because 1. only a small part of viewers use social media (so it lacks representativeness); 2. those using it usually express different/opposing opinions (depending on social media type etc.). There's also a tendency to negative feedback. If they don't want to spend money on research (and they don't), there's no way they can have an idea of what really their fans want. They only see ratings and can guess what's working and what's not. But taping so far in advance even seeing it they can't change the direction soon enough. Hopefully, they watch what they film and discuss how they feel about it (maybe they ask the crew, idk) and I hope someone at Days reads what some of the soap columnists have to say. And there's not more they can do about it because of their budget. That said I think it still could be of benefit for Days if show's head writers joined social media. So do I. Plus, the opinions on Twitter are more diverse. I don't actively search out Days on FB (the comments give me a migraine :D ) but if I happen to see a post from them on my newsfeed, I always make a point to leave a comment asking for more vets, less Dan & Mel, a GOOD story for Nicole & I make sure to thank them for the Wilson/Paul story. |
