i'm shocked Ari & Eileen weren't even pre-nom'd unless they didn't submit. What the heck, I'm rooting for Lauren Boles and Blake Berris. I love Camilla but she's gone. |

I wouldn't count Peggy out either. It's just ridiculous lol. Does anyone know why the lead actress category only had four nominees last year? |

The person who wins the most votes from the voting after the pre-nom list is the winner. The final 4/5 is just a list of the top 5, winner's already decided. And the Daytime Emmy's said #5 in the lead actress had gotten so many less votes than the top 4, that they decided adding a 5th wasn't necessary. Edited by blueskies, Feb 4 2015, 12:38 PM.

Peggy McCay? I supported her nomination two years ago, but she really did not have material to warrant a prenomination. And her status as a Lead Actress is only due to her status of an acting veteran. I'm not being ageist, but let's be honest: she was barely supporting last year. My prediction: this is between Maura West and Gina Tognoni. Congratulations to Daniel Cosgrove for landing that prenom! And I'm kinda surprised to see Justin Hartley up there. He was on Y&R for only a month in 2014, wasn't he? Kim Matula and Linsey Godfrey both took a huge risk by going Supporting, especially as they were eligible for Younger Actress. I hope Chrishell Stause is writing 'thank you' notes to her AMC friends as we speak. The Supporting Actor category is extremely weak. Like, Blake Berris could actually walk away with a trophy if that is his competition. Congratulations to Lauren Boles and Connor Kalopsis on their prenominations. This is the first time in years kids under the age of 18 got prenominated. But, it also kinda points to the lack of eligible candidates. I want Camila to win, but Camryn Grimes might steal it from her. And Ashlyn Pearce was also fantastic in the first part of the year. Younger Actor is pretty much what I expected. The only surprises are Max Reed (awww, that cutie pie) and Connor Kalopsis. |

Bregman, Collins, Lang, and McCay just weren't leading actresses on 2014. Plain and simple. All were supporting at best. Christopher, Davidson and McCook weren't leading actors either. I'm sick of McCook getting the "veteran vote" for B&B. He hasn't led a story in years! Heinle should be in the leading actress category, not supporting. Same for Matula. Boles, Kalopsis and Ransom did nothing deserving of an Emmy nomination. Not sure why DAYS chose them. Especially Boles over Kate Mansi. My final nomination picks: Lead Actress Sweeney Tognoni Tom West Wright Lead Actor Bergman Geary LeBlanc Miller Thompson Supporting Actress Grahn Hendrickson Hughes Locicero Stafford Sullivan Supporting Actor Berris Clifton Duell Martsolf St. john Young Younger Actress Banus Grimes King Pullos Pearce Younger Actor Craig Ehrich Moss Richmond Smith |

Well, These Were A Bit Underwhelming. Should Not Come As Much Of A Surprise, Considering Last Year's Soaps Weren't Exactly On Top Of Their Game. |

Mansi's too old. According to data Jason47 has, she became eligible when she turned 26 in September 2013. |

She didn't have any material anyway. Despite how much she was on and whether or not she did it well, none of her stuff was Emmy bait. |

Ah, I didn't know she had passed the 26 year cut off. Wish they'd start writing Abigail as a late-20something. |

of the Outstanding Lead Actress, the following should never have submitted themselves. Laura Wright - I didn't know if hooking up with a psycho was work of substance. Katherine Kelly Lang (B&B) - being a walking mattress does not qualify as work of substance and Emmy worthy. Jessica Collins - where do I begin? As there was nothing worth talking about. Tracey Bergman - menopausal storyline was not Emmy worthy. It was a big blur.... As for Kim Matula (B&B), when did hair-flipping became work of substance? Jeez, the entire list is a joke....... |

LW had the confrontation scenes between Carly and Michael at her wedding. I don't know if that is what she submitted, but both actors did a great job with their scenes. :) |
