Days recovered well after a really bad Monday. But those numbers are still not good enough. |

These aren't great, but they're not that far off from most of 2013. |

Even though the numbers look similar, the main difference between 2013 and 2015 is that in 2013 they were (mostly) gaining viewers (with some small exceptions they were mostly up from 2012), now they are loosing them. There were weeks when Days was 3rd in 2013, not that it means much. However, it looks like the remaining three shows made some kind of progress and the gap is getting bigger.

It's true that Days doesn't look too bad compared to some of the previous seasons (averages from September to next September) but ratings usually go lower in the sping and summer, so we'll see... 2014-2015: 2'452'000 viewers (516'000 W18-49) 2013-2014: 2'546'000 viewers (588'000 W18-49) 2012-2013: 2'476'000 viewers (555'000 W18-49) 2011-2012: 2'419'000 viewers (539'000 W18-49) 2010-2011: 2'475'000 viewers (672'000 W18-49) |

Loosing 72'000 in W18-49 in the first half of the season doesn't look well. |

It's true the numbers are similar, but even though the total viewers falls in the middle of the years shown, the numbers for the 18-49 demos is the lowest, by a lot really. 20,000 less than the lowest viewers year in 2011-2012. I agree that even if they are up slightly, with GH gaining more, it's making the gap between Days and the other 3 even bigger. I don't see GH catching Y&R and BB, but they did have a few days where they were closer to BB then they've been in a while. They are poised with several s/ls that are transitioning into new phases. I do think that their numbers will hold. They have an anniversary episode coming up and the Nurse's Ball. Two good ratings boosters for them. It will be interest to see how Days ratings will change over the next 5 or so months. The new writers are on Twitter, trying to get people excited about what is down the road and the 50th. That's all well and good, but it doesn't keep people from tuning out until those scenes air. The gap between the top 3 and Days, just might get bigger. |

Eh. Days was having increases recently when they were all bombing. Their ratings are doing pretty much what I had hoped for at the end of last year. They look bad because they're being compared to a good year. Spring/Summer will definitely be the real test because that's when Days started crashing last year. Of course none of it really matters anymore since they've already replaced the regime. |

I agree that the show is going downhill since Summer 2014. They had a perfect opportunity to write big powerfull exits for AS and JS. And they did what? Murder, no one cared about (not even a decent WDI), it wasn't even investigated. And a lame Hollywood tale ala Cinderella lite  . Speaking about ratings, status quo isn't necessarily the perfect vision for the future of the show. The fact that they had a good year (season) in no ways prevented them from having another good (or even better) year. We have an example - GH. IMO, even though the regime change has happened ratings are still important (just not re: changes but) in general, because that's where the new regime starts and if they are in a deep hole by then, it can be crucial (I hope it won't happen). |

I agree, I just don't think it's quite the doom and gloom being implied. They still have a Kristen return coming, and then they still have the 50th at the end of the year. If neither of those does anything to ratings, they may be in trouble, but otherwise, they're in a place that in 2013 we thought was pretty good. It looks bad compared to last year, though, and of course it also doesn't help that the other soaps are doing well right now. But that's all perspective. It hasn't had the crash that some people seem to think it has. And if it stays where it is, in a few weeks its comparisons to last year aren't going to look so bad either. |
