I just can't agree with the thing about her getting material to deserve a nomination. The morgue scenes were horrendous and the fakeout episode was like a spoof of a soap opera. If she gets a nomination then good for her, but PLEASE not a pity win. |

It'll be interested to see if AS gets nominated. In order to get nominated, you need good work, but you also need friends in the industry. Not so much maybe in Younger Acting categories, but definitely in the Supporting and Lead Acting categories. One good thing (or bad thing, depending on how you see it) of so many soaps getting canceled is that getting nominated has become much easier. Katherine Kelly Lang couldn't land a nomination no matter what she did for 20+ years and then ended up getting nominated two years in a row. If AS cannot get nominated after so many years and so much publicity, that may be a telling sign about how well-connected she is in the community. That may not necessarily mean she's a mean person or whatever; it may also mean there's some jealousy because she's the only soap star who has been able to have a primetime career and become a recognizable household name next to her soap career. |

Please tell me AS didn't submit the fake-out episode in ANY way, shape, or form?! That episode was just awful. If Sweeney had ANY decent material in 2014, it was with the EJabby story, and that was barely material. The confrontations of EJ at the jail and Abigail at the Horton house were Sami's best scenes last year, IMO. Blake Berris and Camila Banus better not get snubbed. |

Having no clue who actually did get nominated for Supporting Actor, I know that's always a tough category. A lot of really great actors usually. |

Well I still say it could be seen as a pity vote for Sweeney since it took her "leaving" to get a nom but whatever. She had a couple decent moments this year....some horrid ones but oh well. |

I'm super bummed about Blake. Happy for my man FS but Blake deserved it 100 times over Freddie. Hate it but it's true. |

That was my reaction to her nom too. I really don't understand that one. I'm sure Ali is squealing with delight somewhere. Blake not getting nominated pisses me off. |
