I'm glad that while Days is doing this poorly it happens to also be very "younger character" oriented. |

Poor GH, I don't think the show is that bad. |

I don't either. Seems a damn sight better than Days right now...at least on most days. |

Well TomSell would surely be fired if they weren't already. They're in the danger zone. GH is pretty bad right now. They have their moments. I like about 60% of the show. I think the writing is severely lacking and repetitive but the acting is top notch for the most part. |

Not sure what to say about GH's skid. The year to year makes sense. This was the week of the Ben reveal. They had a 300K increase in viewers for the week. |

Hopefully now that most of the Fluke story is finally over things might start to pick up again on GH. That storyline and the super slow pace with Jason reveal finally got to a lot of viewers I think. They keep dragging out things people are tired of and it's getting old. I'm all for a slow burn at times but the constant way GH has been trying to extend stories that needed to end is just idiotic and crazy. |

I think some viewers got tired of the Fluke story and St. Sonny/Jason worship. |

Some other stories aren't compelling as well. Kiki/Morgan/Michael and custody battle - annoying, Maxi/Spinelli/Nathan - stupid, just to name a few. I love Maura West but the sudden cancer story does nothing for me. Don't know what to think about Nina/Franco, it's better than Carco, but I still don't know if it's enough to like it. But it's still less boring than Days, at least GH has stories. A lot of people liked April 1 episode. They will have live episodes in May. I hope they get better ratings, their biggest problem is demos. |

They aren't posted, but the day to day for GH was what was odd. Monday was 3M and Friday was 2.9. It was Tues-Thurs that was 2.5 and brought the average down. You're right, that this week should look better. Wednesday and Thursday were both good and after today, it seems like we are finally getting movement on Jason's memory. I guess they will finish that up now that Fluke is done. The weekly to week hasn't really been bad. They've just been flat after the drop a few weeks ago. That's what been hurting them. I do have to wonder if people are checking out of Days and waiting for the new writers to arrive. They've been making big promises of things to come. So what's the point to watching what's going on now? |

Most of the stories on GH are stale rehashes designed to stall for time and to remind viewers of things they already know by heart from a decade or more of the same trash (Sonny is a hero and a good father, Jason is a sensitive, sexy stud who has a harem, Ric is real mean, Michael [formerly AJ] is evil, rinse and repeat), and the show is clumsily made up as it goes along. Geary even all but admitted the Luke story was written on the fly. They broke the bank to pay for names from other soaps like Howarth, Easton, Stafford, Miller, Budig, West, without particularly caring if GH viewers would accept them or if they fit into the show. Most of these actors are utterly superfluous to GH, other than Miller, who has just been dumped into the middle of the show and as a result feels too important. GH fans don't care if it's better than DAYS or Y&R or B&B. They just want a show they know and care about. Who cares about Nina and Franco jumping around on a bed? No wonder the ratings tanked. These characters are the epitome of showrunner egomania. We're supposed to love them and they'll keep telling us so until we get it. |

GHFan and Carl you both gave good summaries as to why this show is in such a frustrating state and as you already mentioned it doesn't seem like Ronnie is doing much to change that. I forgot to mention all the Sonny worship because I now watch after it airs so I can zip right through that crap. The return of the hardcore Sonny praise and the mob wars are other good reasons for the ratings to take a hit. The mob stuff is just ughhhh and I hate the way they've been wasting Duke and making him yet another worshiper at the altar of Sonny. I wish that rumored extended break Mo was supposedly going to take had come to fruition. |

YIKES! Monday was their only descent day. I don't remember what happened exactly, I think a lot of Daniel figuring out that JJ slept with Eve and Nicole looking desperate running after him. Also Clint drugging Theresa. I don't blame the viewers for not tuning-in. |
