They were in the parade and SOD had their special magazine. They also have been talking about the different actors that are returning. I just worry that the new writers we're just brought back for the 50th. It's like all the other times. Days is putting all its hopes in this one thing. People might be excited, but if when things start in August, if things aren't as great as they thought it would be they may tune out before the 50th even happens. |

Days isn't talking about people returning at all. But they don't have to promote the 50th now to promote the show. They need to be making a big deal about Eileen. Also, they should do those mini plot things again. |

Thank you JCP.

For me personally, I tried to tune back in from time to time, but it seemed like the "Daniel Hour" and stopped trying to watch. If either Peter or Stephen are back for a short time, I don't know if I will even bother to watch. JMO. |

We know about Peter and Steve, but you are right about Eileen. They need short term fixes until the new writers material starts. I still feel that people are checking out, because what's on the screen now doesn't matter. They can just come back in the fall and see if there's a change. |

personally, I think many have seen Days as a sinking ship, what I mean is Days have relied on that viewers are loyal, but it clearly viewers have become tired to see a non interesting stories after another, and do not let me start with the characters, they lost two complex / bad aka Sami and EJ who was leading for a long time even though they knew well in advance . They did not seem to have a plan how they would fill the void left by them ??? How idiotic, quite honestly who wants to see lame characters and dull stories ??? And they are not even trying to promote something exciting so that viewers coming back ?? Bo and Steve ?? so what? old veterans can not save a show who apparently lacks elements which are attracted to today's television viewers? specific for fans who missed them it is okay but it's not enough. IMO |

That is true. There was excitement about Kassie and Melissa joining the cast, but they haven't done anything with them. What's thd point of Patch and Bo returning, if there isn't anytjing compelling done with them. A teen rebelling against his father is the story JJ was suppose to have and Bo is just going to start trouble for Haiden. I'd rather the intrigue that they use to have. The days when Stefano held people so that their returns where dramatic. Instead we have Stefano meddling in his son's love life. What a bore. |

They may do something compelling with them. I don't know. That's beside the point. I'm talking about publicity and promotion. They didn't do that with melissa or kassie either, and it's something they need to be doing...especially now. |

Same thing here. I watched (and loved) the show as a little boy in the 1970's and early-1980's but stopped watching when I discovered the ABC soaps as a teen. Was considering watching during the anniversary week in November. If I was an actor on Days of Our Lives, I would seriously be asking around if any of the other three soaps are in need of talent ... heck even a telenovela or a web soap. This show is near death. |

They must be making promises to the actors. Wally just signed a contract. He was in the middle of a storyline on GH. If he really thought Days was on its last leg, I doubt that he would have walked away. |

Wow, the ratings sure went up after Sweeney's departure. :sarcasm: And Days' hope for a brilliant future is Dena... :mutley: Sorry, but this is well deserved. |

Wally was recurring on both soaps, so I would think having a contract on one is better than recurring on both. |

I dont know, Days seems to have their ups and downs. next week, the ratings will say something else. So its kind of hard to pinpoint the real problem on that show. Unfortunately, in my opinion I think many stories are a dull. They could be compared to watching an ant cross the street. Even with some of my faves being on, the stories are dull. |

The demos are clearly terrible, though I'm not positive that the traditional "target demo" is still what they look at. But. Days isn't that far off from last year. There must be something doing decently in their time slot that's making it look even worse than it is. On average, they're only about 100,000 viewers from last year's average. |

For me, I was excited about GH's 50th because I knew they were bringing back the Nurse's Ball and I had never experienced one before (and I ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would). And I'm trying. I'm really trying to muster some excitement about Days upcoming 50th but it's hard. Even with Nichols and Reckell coming back. I think I'm just utterly burned out on the show which is sad cause I've been tuning in since the Aremid days when John and Marlena drew me in to their love story. After they left I kept watching for awhile then stopped. Then I bought into all the hype and got excited about MarDar's reboot. Then that fell apart and TPTB brought in TomSell who took a giant ugly wrecking ball to Jarlena. So I'm feeling a bit of twice bitten, thrice shy. |

I realize that he was recurring on both. He was really enjoying his time at GH though. Even if you're offered a contract, you're not going to take it if you don't feeling that it's going to lead to something that you're going to enjoy. You won't want to be tied to something that you may regret. That's why I said that they must have told him something that made him feel comfortable. People don't just take contracts because they are offered. It's also interesting to note that this happened after the writer change. |

It might help that GHs anniversary is more towards the beginning of the year, while Days is at towards the end. Nov seems so far away. Plus knowing that there's still 4 months of what we're getting now to go. |

Oh please, the show is not close to death and it is not going anywhere. All shows go up and down, even your precious ABC daytime soaps have. |

Even if the show is not canceled next year, those bad ratings could mean more bugdet cuts and that's really scary. |

I do not know but if a show can not entertain an audience, it's no wonder that viewers stop watching the sum of this is that the ratings drop and the show eventually needs to end. Quite honestly I have no problem seeing that the show disappears considering which matrial they use both when it comes to stories and characters, there's a lot more exciting stuff shown on TV and other soap operas. It's clearly annoying to see what choices Days done over the years with both characters and stories and it says a lot about those who have power ??? they have hired writers who have been a disaster, forcing the characters to the audience who are completely uninteresting not listened to feedback from viewers, and when they had something which was exciting they have written crap stories with those characters. Sorry but too much fail one after another makes even the most loyal viewer finally gives up. |
