They actually went up a little. LMAO. I did actually expect them to dip below 2 million, though.

DAYS actually isn't down that much from last year either. I didn't want to see them dip to below 2 million. I'm glad they rebounded. As much as I'm not really enjoying the show (with the exception of Paul/Sonny and Kristen), I don't want the show to have cancellation bound numbers.

Days is really bad, but I didn't want to see them go below 2 million. With TomSell already gone, I don't get any joy from these horrible ratings. Those demos need Jesus.

Yep. Yet people are still blaming the decline in ratings on all of those actors leaving (and all of them were on the show last year at this time except ED). Days wasn't doing much better with all of them on the show.

Actually they were. The demos were at 2.0 or up, and the occasional 1.7. Now they're consitantly 1.7 or less. Days has been last for a long time now, so that's no surprise but the demos were better.

Dena brought the show to 1.4, 1.3 under her poison pen years ago. She's coming back. Hopefully she'll do better this time around.

GH is the only one that had a drop, but they were interrupted on Wednesday. In Chicago they were pre-empted for baseball. The same thing happened today. Since that's going to happen periodically all season, I can see this affecting weekly numbers.

Recent articles have led me to believe those demos aren't as important anymore (though it's still not good that they're dropping). But what you're saying isn't at all accurate about the demos. Are you talking about the HH rating? The demos were definite not that high. I'm not sure what 1.4 and 1.3 you're talking about either. If you're referring to the HH rating, they tied they're all time low last week and it was 1.6, so no, they didn't hit a 1.4 or 1.3. As for the demo ratings, when the show was doing well early last year, they hit a 2 year high with a 1.1.

Last year, their HH rating was a 1.8 average. They had 2.2 at the very beginning of the year, then 2.1, then 2 and then for the rest of the year minus one week in the Fall, they were below 2.0. In 2013 they had a slightly better average (1.9) but never hit 2.2 and only had about 15 weeks spread out through the year that managed higher than a 2.

No one is trying to claim they're doing well, and no one is denying that they're doing poorly. But this myth that things were so great before, is just that - a myth. Last summer in particular was terrible. The proof is in the fact that the gap in their comparison to last year is starting to get smaller.

Also, I didn't say I wanted them to dip below 2 million. I said I thought they were going to.

I clicked on this thread and said "surely we've gone up"....well we did but it still is what it is. Nothing to brag about. Y&R had a great week and I've been curious about them with Pratt's hands all in it so that's interesting. Back to Days, this summers rating are going to be a hell of a watch. Could be a cruel summer indeed. Thankfully, we WILL get Days50 and there's no way in hell Dena will be able to screw it up. I'm on their side this time. If I jinxed it, I'll accept the stones. lol

I actually have to admit that I really enjoy Pratt's Y&R. Despite the fact that he tends to overdoing (too much of disasters at once, one more Doppelganger etc) I still like what is onscreen because it's finally interesting and suspenseful, it looks like everyone is involved in some kind of a story. I also like most of his new directions regarding pairings (Abby/Ben, Sharon/Dylan, even Avery/Joe is much better than Avery/Dylan).

I'm glad to see Days rebound a bit, those numbers are still bad but at least they're not getting worse week after week.

If you have already forgotten, at the beginning of that week Daniel and Jennifer were arguing about Eve/JJ/Paige and at the end of the week Paul confronted his mother after Sonny told him about her lies.

Hopefully we'll see another bump with Kristen's return next week. It would be good if the show could get to 2'400K viewers and 500K women 18-49 again. They are not that far.

Wow, B&B is looking good.
For an half-hour soap, its doing well against the hourly soaps.
Maybe Days should consider becoming an half-hour soap instead.
But then again, that may not work, because Days ensemble is too large and some people wont get air time for weeks.

Well, Days definatley still bad ratings, no wonder with what is shown on screen, lol and clearly has it affected that they lost Ali and James I am totally convinced of this and the combination with bad stories and no real star quality in the remaining cast, this means that many people don't tune in.

I was talking about the demos when Dena was writing for the show a few years ago. Dena got fired because she bought the show to its knees with 1.4 demos.

The ratings were 2.0+ with the occasional lowest 1.7 (usually on Fridays) in 2013/2014. Still in the last place, but the demos were better. That's all I was saying.

Where are you getting those demo numbers? The demo ratings in that area are from when the show was doing well. I understand what you're saying but I think you're using the wrong numbers.

I have lots to say but I will sum it up quickly, if tptb read these boards and reacted to the posting dool would not be in the toilet. kc don't give a rats ass about the show. if it were my show and the rating went down after a month major changes would happen. stop taping 6 month ahead. what needs to happen get rid of kc... no chance of that he owns it. keep Wilson storey going get fs back. kill Daniel now ! start new taping to adjust the failing storey although its taped and it the can, discard it. drastic measures are needed now if the remaining viewer gotta watch 6 more month of whitsell writing I hope the plug get pulled on the show. the stupid pearl storey can be end in 3 episodes kill it now. turn Nicole into the biggest super bitch u can create and with lots of power and money. a female version of victor and stefano use j and m more . get away from everyone hoping in the bed with everyone give good grounded storey. get rid of 25 per cent of the actors give remaining actors good storey. end jj and eve it turns my f-----g stomach. hope needs her home back. use rafe dear lord running a f-----h night club. isn't j a retiring he is turning 80. isn't jm/stephano only working a few shows now and then . get rid of clyde and ben. get rid of Jennifer and that daughter of hers. with brady end the silly baby switch storey. give him something to do beside sleeping with all the females of the city. dool is like a porn show rather that a good in debt storey with drama and good grounded storey . look at y and r it is turning around since there were changes over there . dool can succeed but kc needed to have someone run the show. he needs to go in the back ground stay there and see if someone can save days . bring in ed scott . I stated in a post about 14 month ago I could see dool down to 1.6 in rating but I saw 1.49 on one site. I never thought I would see it . why didn't kc step in months ago and take drastic measure. better yet sell the show to cbs at least they know how to do things right. as for sony I an totally discussed with u all. enough said . as for nbc I can't think of words strong enough to express my distaste for the network brass for allowing such a great show as dool is to fail where it is today. have guts back the show turn it around, prove you people can do it. what in hell is the person running daytime doing ?with the salaries u people make don't ya think you can try this. I have watched the show from its opening scene which was in black and white with tom and alice Horton. it was such a beautiful show now you have allowed it to become the gong show. how about turning this show around like cbs did for y and r. kc sell the show go on the frigging golf course and bat the balls all over the green hopefully u r better at that.
I AM PISSED KC / SONY / NBC I AM TOTALLY DISCUSSED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What's your explanation for the bad ratings last year?
Yeah... I think ratings depend more on the quality of the stories than on the actors/characters who are front and center. Things took a turn for the worst after February 2014. I thought TomSell were doing a pretty good job until then. A year of bad storytelling is the reason why the ratings have not been good since last year. Some fans stick around for a while until they can't take it anymore. I hope they'll come back.

Sorry for the late response :) ok bad ratings last year, was probably due to poor storytelling viewers were fed up :) Either way, something needs to capture viewers, and Days fail right now with this. And I believe that Ali and James had a strong pull on many viewers more than the remaining cast, it seems that some tune out for good after they left, but I could be wrong? this is only my opinion.
