Is Ashley Benson still working? Maybe they will bring her back.
I never saw her in the role of Abby, but if they do recast Abby again I hope it will be with someone that will compliment what BF/KM have built chabby up to be.

Hmm. I thought the original call said the role was contract. Now it says it's recurring with the possibility of going to contract? If that's accurate, and not something to throw people off, I can't imagine it's for Abby.

They also changed the age range from 25 to 24-28.

well the age group change is not that big of a deal. I just hope they let us know soon whether there will be a recast eventually.

I agree on the age thing. I was just noting the change.

Maybe Abby will come back as a visit to start, if they're having trouble finding a recast they're confident in.

Kind of interesting that they are taking so long to cast this one. I've been under the impression in the past that soap casting is usually pretty quick.

That's the part that makes you think it might be for Abby. But then there is the recurring with the chance to go to contract thing that cord08 mentioned, so who knows. They said something similar with the Lani role, but she has been contract the whole time (though she should probably be recurring at this point, lol).

It is interesting, and I guess it means that there will not be an immediate recast for Abby if the casting call is for her. I'm okay with that since immediate recasts oftentimes struggle.

Maybe they're having trouble finding someone that they think works really well with Billy? BF has good chemistry with lots of people, but if you really want a pairing to work, the chemistry needs to be solid.

I wouldn't be too thrown by the "recurring" bit. Maybe they want to leave their options open if they sense that the actress isn't working out. Best to rip the Band-Aid off quickly instead of being saddled for too long with the wrong actress. Of course it's also a bit unfair. It's sometimes hard to acclimate to a soap at first, let alone having to hit the ground running in terms of chemistry with your screen partners. Lots of Days actors started "bad" but were given time to come around. But the show has less room for error these days.

I read this too and the "recurring" bit gave me pause because if it is indeed Abby, she would not be recurring. Could be to throw people off I suppose. But it is now coming clear to me that Abby will be off the canvas for a time.

If it is for Abby I am glad they are taking their time with it. Its is clear they still want Chabby and the chemistry has to be be there.

It took them forever to cast Chad as well.

Thats is true But I think whether or not the actress has chemistry with Billy will play a a big part too. I am sure Billy will fight for who he feels is right like Kate did for him.

I am still so torn on the recast idea. On one hand I feel Chabby needs to continue and they should find the right recast for Abby. On the other, Billy and Kate have created something so special that I don't know how it will be be with someone new as Abby. Sigh lol

I've been watching all the new Chabby mvids tonight and it's finally hit me hard that Chabby 2.0 is almost over. Man, it sucks. ITA, Billy and Kate have created something really, really special.

Despite my BF/KM love, I want an Abby recast and I still want Chabby + Thomas.

DAYS apparently saw over a 1,000 people for the Chad recast so I'm going to remain optimistic that they will work just as hard to get the right Abby recast. I think the show is pretty committed to Chabby and BF/Chad.

So yeah...I'm going to take this new casting tidbit as a good sign that they're not rushing into a bad recast and ruining any chance Chabby 3.0 might have.

MM said it on her talk show when she was interviewing BF last Feb. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong about that info.

I thought it was insane amount as well.

Not sure if they were being literal but you may be right. It seemed excessive but I really don't know how many people try out for contract roles.
