I am imagining what those dreams will entail and I am horrified:

A Rope love scene.
Ava dreaming about the family she never had with Steve.
Nicole dreaming of the wedding that never happened, with Daniel flashbacks included.
Abby's genre will probably be horror with Ben included.

Fuck. Dena.
Just when I get myself calmed down, I read your post.

If they bring back Ben for Abby's Valentine Day dream which should be romantic and ONLY about Chad right now...I'm not sure what I will do...

Josh writing by himself the first few months and now Dena in complete control just doesn't make sense to me.

I can't wait for the end of Feb. to get here to see if the show has a different feel to it.
It doesn't make sense to me either which is why I'm so confused.

I think they were under a lot of pressure to make the 50th in November great and now they just don't care because they've secured a renewal. That's all I can come up with.

I checked IMDb for the Feb 12th episode. We have:

- a delivery man: Not sure who's dream that would be. Could be several of them.

- a doctor: Ava's probably dreaming about giving birth or the doctor saying the baby is dead. So, she probably gets the horror dream.

- a teen: Ciara's dream. Probably takes place at school or something else stupid.
So RSW definetly isn't in this episode? I didn't think they would waste him on this but knowing this show you never know.

Less annoyed but still hate this dream crap as a V Day episode.

I guess they felt they didn't have enough couples truly together and in love to do a real V Day show.

That's pathetic.

They have enough couples but they chose this crap instead.

John and Marlena
Chad and Abby
Doug and Julie
Victor and Maggie
Brady and Theresa
JJ and Gabi
Philip and Belle?

Steve and/or Kayla could have been given a flashback thinking of the other

Dena, Dena ... I quit DAYS when she was head writer in 2003. I quit because the news came out that JER was coming up but I also quit because she had Bo & Hope together yet I still found the show tedious (I faintly remember a Taco Boy obsession).

Josh?

I was watching OLTL when Josh was co-head writer, associate head-writer, and the show was chit good especially during 1992-1993. All soaps were the chit in 1993 but none more than OLTL. Yesterday evening I was watching a Bo & Hope clip from November when Hope got out of the hospital and that felt like Josh Griffith's OLTL time writing [it's the episode where Hope comes home from the hospital and Hope, Ciara & Chase's trauma & awkwardness was palpable in a really good way, most every beat was being played with each of them subtly ... JV sucks in general but this was a good episode for her as she so carelessly like father-like sons Chase and breaks down with Hope].

And although Josh and Michael Malone could write some crazy chit (Luna), most of their material was very strong BUT part of that IMO was Linda Gottlieb (Dirty Dancing) being their executive producer. I remember not liking what either-or were doing when she wasn't at the helm BUT it was actually Michael Malone's solo reign sans Gottlieb that turned me off OLTL.
I've watched a lot of different soaps in my 30+ years of watching them and not many could beat OLTL during that '92 to '95 time period. That was some damn good soap (minus Luna)!

MM coming back in 2003 was a disaster especially since it forced Roger Howarth to quit over what his horrific plans where for Todd and Blair (my OTP of OTP's). Malone's obsession with rape is even worse than this current crap at Days if possible.

I wasn't thinking Thrady cause I thought Brady was away. I may be wrong about that. And like S & K they could still do something with them thinking of each other.

I wasn't including anything Phelle or Shelle.

I totally forgot about JJ & Gabi and Victor & Maggie...like completely.

I was only thinking J&M, J&D and Chabby.

I wonder if we're going to go a whole month without a Kayla spoiler. (I mean a spoiler where she does something, not where she's mentioned to make Steve do something gross.)
I don't think that will be the case.

A movie genre is like: Action, Thriller, Romantic, Comedy, Western, Fantasy, stuff like that (there are a lot of genres besides those). Personally I think it might be fun.
I'm curious which script writer wrote this episode. I'll be looking to see if it was Mark Higley.

Well, at least this time they're spooofing movies during the Oscar season, not 5 months after the Oscars.

I wonder if Steve and Ava are told this kid is dead, Ava dies (hopefully) and then maybe later Steve finds out this kid is at Winterthorne. I mean John was a supposedly dead orphan too. It would be a way to bridge the stories together later and even better, without Ava. And John made a big deal saying he didn't want anyone else's identities kept from them.

I don't want Steve and Ava to have a kid but if Ava's dead it's not as bad lol. And Kayla wouldn't hold that against him, he had amnesia. And he has bigger things he does soon to be worried about her being upset about happening.

Years ago their was a lady in red dream sequence with Steve and Kayla and they actually used the popular song by Chris Deburgh I believe. Kayla looked absolutely stunning and she was dancing with Steve. That was my favorite Days dream sequence. I wish they could do something like this for one of the couples on Valentines Day.

It was actually MM's 1995 run that turned me off, he was already showing his rape obsession back then (turning Powell, the only one who originally had a conscience in that group, into a serial rapist). I also just didn't like the show turning Todd into a romantic lead.

It would probably be used for Nicole dancing with Daniel's shrine.

DAYS hasn't been able to afford much in terms of popular music for at least the last 15 years if not longer. That goes for all soaps. It can cost up to $10,000 to lease a popular song for play on television.

The last time I was watching regularly (the early 2000s) I know they were doing Faith Hill's "Breathe" for Bo/Hope semi-regularly. Besides that one-of "All of Me" for Nicole/Daniel, has the show dished out for much main-stream popular music since?

Yeah, I haven't seen all of the original Todd/Marty rape story, but what I have seen looked riveting and quite well-written. It's just a shame that they had to keep going back to the "rape well" and destroy parts of that story.

Weren't Griffith-Malone also behind the story about a teenager named Billy (played by Ryan Phillipe) being gay, which eventually expanded into a story about HIV/AIDS and the real-life AIDS Memorial Quilt? I think that was around 1992 as well. EDIT: I just checked, and yes he was.

Soaps just don't write socially relevant (and timely) stuff like that anymore.

Andre using Chase is actually interesting since he had that very specific conversation with Aiden about staying away from Chase. Whether he had options or not, Aiden thought he had to kill Hope to protect Chase from Andre. And now Hope went and put Chase directly in the line of fire with her nonsense.

Remember Steve was thinking about Kayla and the fact that he was going to prison for ten years to cover up that Adrienne had killed their father. After dreaming about dancing with Kayla, he looked down at the pool table and there was a piece of something red that looked like it came off Kayla's red dress. I loved the way they used to show a lot imagination in special scenes.

That's right the scarf on the pool table and he had that puzzled look on his face. Days was so good back then. I am just not a fan of Higley type cheesy dreams. Can't wait til this woman leaves the building she is destroying all my favorite couples with the exception of Chabby. Even though Thrady are together I can see the train wreck she has coming with these dreams and mystery woman.
