It has nothing to do with "knowing something". People keep saying that Freddie has to have just started back because he moved to Florida with his gf. Well, I have seen two pictures showing Freddie in FL since she moved and they have been dated 12-27 and 1-20, both of which were during dark weeks according to Jason. Although he very well could have just started back filming, I'm just pointing out the possibility that Freddie has been back longer than a week or so. I mean, his gf instagrammed that she arrived in LA yesterday yet we know Freddie has been here filming so maybe they aren't attached at the hip like normal people. |

I'm hopeful that last week wasn't Freddie's first week back because Jason and Michael didn't seem blinsided when the picture was leaked. And also because Christopher tweeted "great news coming" back in December. But maybe I'm wrong. |

If Freddie is, indeed, back for good, I'm ready for all those that called Griffith and company homophobes to jump back on the bandwagon and start watching the show again because gay characters are being shown. |

I kept watching but it was very hurtful to see the show turn on the gay community after the great progress made those past few years. I don't know who is responsible and if they trully had bad intentions but the way they handled the whole situation was terrible. Not just the writing but the lack of communication with the fans too. It seems that they only started to make positive changes in the fall, once Higley was out of the picture and they got the first feedback about the reboot. |

Some time has passed now, and I've settled on my own personal conclusion that while I don't think the abrupt end of the gay characters was homophobic, it surely was extremely insensitive. The fact that they obviously didn't realize this is what makes it so stupid. Seems more like a huge lack of self-awareness. Edited by Luce, Feb 10 2016, 10:34 AM.

It was never homophobic. It was "Guy"phobic. Guy Wilson was not truly accepted no matter how the character was written. They could've recasted, but they bombed with Guy, plus, Freddie chose to leave. Knowing what had happened with the Will recast, I'm sure DAYS was afraid to recast Sonny. They also knew Freddie was open to returning. They could've written Will moving away, but I feel they killed him off to create future story. If Will had lived off canvas they wouldn't be able to utilize Sonny in the way(s) they will soon be doing...Viewers would be asking " Where's Will?" each time they see Sonny or "Shouldn't Will know what Sonny is doing, now?" Also, killing Will may have been a move to make Chandler Massey want to resurrect him. They let Guy go a few months early as they did Chandler. Ken Corday said "There were just too many Will recasts." |

...? I haven't seen anybody use "has to" but maybe I missed it. It's been more likely/probably and "I think" and stating what we know, which is that Freddie has been in Florida at some point recently. Which he has. I'm also aware that Freddie is not physically adhered to his girlfriend, but I appreciate you pointing it out just in case someone didn't. Personally speaking, I was also using his buzzed head as an indicator that he probably hasn't been filming recently, but that's not definitive proof either, I realize. I'm perfectly happy to be wrong, mind you. Perfectly. I'd love to find out he'd been back longer, or has made frequent visits at least over the last few months. It's certainly possible, as you said. Your posts in response to people just seemed very sarcastic to me, and I didn't see a reason why. I don't think anyone is asserting that there's absolutely no possibility Freddie has filmed or made any visits that will show up on screen sooner than 6 months. It just seems somewhat unlikely at this point. |

It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Freddie on the show in May and Chandler/Will appear for the Summer Olympics cliffhanger (08-05-16).

I disagree with your blanket statement about Guy. I realize that there were many posts at DR about disliking his acting. However, speaking for myself, I *preferred* Guy Wilson in the role of Will Horton. I preferred him to Chandler. And there were posts by others who liked him, too. I don't try to analyze who liked whom best, because that just leads to generalizations and fanbase arguments. I can say only that I liked Guy Wilson's portrayal of Will, and I wasn't the only person who did. I liked Chandler okay, too. |

Wow, okay. Previously, I brought up that maybe Freddie has been filming longer than the picture in question indicated and it was pointed out that Freddie's gf had moved to Florida and Freddie had been there with her. Since that fact has been mentioned multiple times since then, I just wanted to say that, much like Melissa Reeves and Kassie DePaiva who aren't based in LA, Freddie being in Florida during Days dark weeks might not preclude him from having started back filming prior to the posting of the pic. A little bit of wishful thinking on my part probably, and I did say that the other posters could be right, but I thought I'd share it with other Freddie fans who are also hoping they don't have to wait another six months for him to show up on screen. My bad. As for the sarcasm, I didn't know that had been banned from the site. That's my favorite part of being here. Edited by stormymac, Feb 10 2016, 02:58 PM.

Well, it is the internet. I can only respond to the tone I perceive in posts, and well, sarcasm is generally used to mock. It has zero to do with policing your posts, I'm not an admin. |

A lot have already said they're not watching unless Will comes back. Most of those people hate Paul, though, so  |

I don't think it had anything to do with Guy. He was there for like two years lol. If they thought he was that bad of a recast they would've done away with him before two years. |

I did find Guy a little better on the gay scenes than Chandler but I preferred Chandler's portrayal of Will to Guy. |

Yes, this is definitely great news for CS. He'll probably actually get to be in episodes and act and stuff now. Has he even been in 10 episodes since August? Edited by jb1183, Feb 10 2016, 02:21 PM.

I think he's been in 12 episodes since the writers changed and he barely spoke in half of those episodes. I'm shocked they treated the character/actor like that, it feels intentional. |

I'm shocked they kept Paul at all. They wrote out every other newer character that came on under TomSell. |

I'm not shocked. Other actors/characters have gotten similar treatment in the past. Judi Evans is a prime recent example. |

I think it was interesting that Christopher mentioned at Day of Days that NBC supported / cared about his character. I suspect that Griffith and Higley were forced to keep him. That would explain the passive aggressive writing for Paul. |
