Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
There's a lot that looks bad. That just happens to be something that doesn't matter. Today sucked. It's sucked for weeks. Days' rankings still don't matter.
something matters and I've seen lots of shows canceled for this...lots My beloved show...and you can guess what that is was once tried to be canceled for lack of viewership, they truly believed no one was watching...the viewers got outside the main building wrapped around it, stood in big lines raising hell...of course we know how that turned out. Okay. But in a world of four soaps it doesn't matter. We've seen proof of that with the other soaps. The ratings aren't amazing now, but they're also not bad. The most important thing is whether or not the show is profitable, and at the moment it still is. I'm pretty sure the decision has already been made, but any hang up would have been on how to keep it profitable, not how to get it to #3 so that GH would now be 4th. Because ranking isn't relevant.

Well technically as far as we know, she's still on that leave.
Does someone (that is not her) want her back? Or maybe she has a clause that she can be fired (contract not extended) only if the ratings go down to a specific point? Not that I know of. But that still reflects their issue with stability.

but I'm afraid viewership does, though was up, it's still the lowest.
Yes, but if you look at things historically, this was the first time "Days" had at least a 2.0 for households for all 4 weeks of November sweeps since November 2009. So, that's a nice step in the right direction, even though it's still last place.
I don't want to be a pessimist...I am but who wants that...I just think it looks bad And I watched today... and thought....Lani & Abe...who cares! With only 4 shows on the air, the rankings don't really help.
Compare these two weeks of November Sweeps households, 2014 vs. 2015. Yes, "Days" is in last place in both years. But look at the gap between Days and GH. GH was almost 5 points higher than Days in November 2014 sweeps, but GH is less than 1 point higher than Days in November 2015 sweeps. Also, for these two weeks in November Sweeps, "Days" is the only soap to have gained viewers between 2014 and 2015. The other 3 soaps had less viewers in 2015 during these two weeks than they did in 2014.
NIELSEN RATINGS: WEEK OF NOVEMBER 10-NOVEMBER 14, 2014

NIELSEN RATINGS: WEEK OF NOVEMBER 17-NOVEMBER 21, 2014
1. The Young and the Restless CBS 3.61/12 2. The Bold and the Beautiful 2.72/09 3. General Hospital ABC 2.31/07 4. Days of Our Lives NBC 1.88/06
NIELSEN RATINGS: WEEK OF NOVEMBER 9-NOVEMBER 13, 2015
1. The Young and the Restless CBS 3.55/12 2. The Bold and the Beautiful 2.66/09 3. General Hospital ABC 2.13/07 4. Days of Our Lives NBC 2.05/07
NIELSEN RATINGS: WEEK OF NOVEMBER 16-NOVEMBER 20, 2015
1. The Young and the Restless CBS 3.46/12 2. The Bold and the Beautiful 2.53/08 3. General Hospital ABC 2.03/07 4. Days of Our Lives NBC 2.00/07

With only 4 shows on the air, the rankings don't really help. Compare the two middle weeks of November Sweeps households, 2014 vs. 2015. Yes, "Days" is in last place in both years. The more people watch, the more the commercials are watched...more items sold...and so on.

They may be fourth, but they're significantly higher than they've been for a while. I understand what you're saying. It's just not accurate. You missed the improvement. It happened. You can't look at one week's ratings and get a feel for how it's doing.

Personally I want Days to stand for Nostalgia reasons as well as...ok maybe just that...but they've got to do more than this.

I mean I knew it was really bad when the only commercials on were Alison Sweeney advertising things. They still have a ton of advertisers. Looking over today's rundown, there were 26 different companies who paid for ads today:
Allergan Amgen Bayer Bluestern Bush Brothers CDC Chattem Church & Dwight Clorox Colgate-Palmolive Dannon Glaxosmithkline Hillshire Johnson & Johnson Kimberly Clark Kraft Heinz L'Oreal Macy's Merial Pfizer Proctor & Gamble Revlon SC Johnson Sun Products Sunsweet Unilever
And tomorrow's episode includes ads from 7 other companies: Ashley Furniture Beiresdorf AG Ferrero USA Georgia-Pacific Mars Nature Made Nutrisystem

You're not bringing us new information. wasn't trying too, this is probably some of the worse I've seen. Even with the nasties of the past there was at least one viable character, this show is lacking that, IMO.

Compared to AS and JS doing several commercials in between, that was depressingly funny.

:poof: but it looks bad. IDK why you're so worried about us thinking you're pessimistic. I don't care about that. I think there are plenty of reasons to be pessimistic, even though I think the renewal is already a done deal. Your take on the ratings just isn't accurate. It's one of the things currently in Days' favor. I actually am bummed that they're as high as they are because the current content doesn't deserve it. Regardless, they're still good and they still have shown a lot improvement over the last couple of months, particularly in January.

Not that I know of. But that still reflects their issue with stability. That's good. Are there signs that NBC wants to have someone "they trust" in the writing team with JG?
