Haha, I love Michael and Lysie. [twitter=TheMikeGoldberg/status/697157918261714944] What in the world is DC doing over there? Actively trying to lose their credibility? |

Well, even if DC were right, it's not that they are saying the show won't be renewed. |

Yeah, that article is definitely confusing. I thought NBC/Corday was responsible for the large tape-to-air gap because of how cost-effective it is? It seems odd that they'd now be the ones calling for a smaller gap. I certainly wouldn't complain if that happened though! I wanna know how long Days' pending renewal is for. I hope somebody makes a statement soon. |

Oh so that's what this was all about?? Makes me feel a a bit better but Also conflicted! can Days afford to do this with all the budget cuts? I feel like there's way too much drama going on. And when do we get an official confirmation to the renewal? |

They had to adapt that model when NBC changed the licensing fee. So unless NBC has decided to give them more money to work with (yeah...right) then that doesn't make sense at all. As mentioned yesterday, the licensing fee is probably the hold up again, and they're probably trying to figure out how to manage any changes without doing what they did last time. And changing the production model isn't the only thing they did. |

You know, It's one thing to break news that has happened. But knowing how worked up fans are right now about the future of the show, I find it very sad to worry people like this. How different is this post from the day before? And I think Jamey is great, a good guy, and would tell him the same thing myself. He has always been very nice to me. I do have a soft spot for DAYS of course, and that may be my issue. I know I do blind items, but I find this to be much different when it comes to causing people to freak out about the show getting renewed or not. |

I think news like that has some positive impact as well, it makes us appreciate more what we have - our show. ;) |

I hope they find a way to slow down. It's crazy to think that right now the next 120 episodes have already been taped. If they can lose a little bit of that advance every year like 20 or even 10 episodes, one day the situation will go back to normal. |

The Judy gif gets me every time. Haha! I don't know why, but I'm thinking sometime next week. Maybe next Wednesday. It's obvious they're trying to work out the details, and even though DC is posting all this stuff now, it seems as though these rumors/bits of info have been floating around for a little while. They're probably closer to finishing the deal than these reports make it seem. |

I guess I'm confused about whether there is truth to the report about them wanting to cut down the production timetable. I would certainly prefer that and it seems like it would be beneficial in terms of ending stories that aren't working. I guess it's just a matter of WHO wants to reduce their production schedule? I do appreciate Michael an awful let for letting us know that we shouldn't worry. I'm not sure why anyone would intentionally want fans to worry. That doesn't seem very nice, but maybe that wasn't the intention. |

Wednesday seems to be the day things happen, we got that update from NBC last month and the past 2 renewals in 2013 and 2014 on a Wednesday. The update was on a dark week and next week is dark. So fingers crossed for tomorrow, I don't want to wait another week. |

I think everyone WANTS to. But anyone in that industry should know that it's not that simple. Even to cut back to a three month lag time, they'd have some major issues to work out with the crew...who they'd basically have to lay off and risk losing. The gaps don't affect NBC nearly as much as they affect Corday Productions. |

That type of schedule shouldn't be an issue under the union agreements covering the crew. As long as the workers have a date certain to return to work within a few weeks, they are still employed and getting paid for the work they do, which is usually per hour. The only concern I would have is if the workers wanted to work more and took other jobs and then were not available for Days. I assume Days would still be shooting quickly to avoid overtime, so it helps a lot to have crew members who know each other and are familiar with the process. The contract actors may be a problem. If they have guarantees, a hiatus during which the show is not filming could be an issue, because the show might not be able to meet the annual guarantee numbers. I guess they could do more group scenes or more episodes where contract cast members are glorified extras like John and Marlena recently were. |

I agree with the slowing down of taping, it lets them see how well the s/l is being liked. |

I wonder if they could just slow things down a bit then. Make it a very gradual transition over the course of a year? or more? |

Remember when they actually did that a few years back and we were all up in arms because they were three months ahead and not 6 to 8 weeks? I would take 3 months back in a heartbeat.... But frankly I am not sure why DC is reporting some of this stuff....it's obvious to any of us that have followed DC for a while now that JG got pissed that some super secret stuff was given to other outlets that at one point DC would have gotten the exclusive for. Since the new regime, it seems he's gotten nothing...at first after yesterday's report I thought that changed, but now with the reassurances from Lysie and Michael, I wonder what is going on over at DC that they feel the need to do this at this moment. |
