How much do the DHs, KA, MR, TP etc make? What about the younger ones like KM, BF, MM, JPL, BB?
Here's an article from a couple of years ago:
http://soaphub.com/general-hospital/how-much-does-your-favorite-soap-star-make/
And here's one that was posted in 2009:
http://onelifetolive.about.com/od/articles/a/stars_salaries.htm
It's the same numbers, maybe the most recent article just took them from the old one.

Basically, most soap stars on contract have a six fugure salary. If it's you first year and you don't work much, it's probably less than that.

I think AB also gets a stipend for his living expenses as part of the prize package.
I agree while $1000.00 an episode sounds great if you only work 4 x a month that is not much
to live on in LA lol
That is not much to live anywhere...but I would imagine you would have to live on the fucking street in LA at those rates.

I would love a job that paid $1000 for a days work. They're filming epis at the rate of about 7-8 a week. He might not even have to be there a full day to do his scenes. He has plenty of time to do other jobs when he isn't shooting Days.

The easiest way to cut back the schedule is to add an extra day or two, to the dark weeks and schedule one or two extra dark weeks throughout the year. Then once a month have an extra Friday or Monday off. That way yes the crew takes a cut but not a severe one, no one gets laid off or is forced to take off months and they could/should cut back the sheer number of episodes to get to a total 3 months/2 months/6 weeks ahead, whichever they prefer.

Then you can let go of 5-10 actors, streamline the show and not have so far ahead a taping schedule that fan feedback, editing, and retakes can occur to create a better show.

Kate, Theresa, Brady, Rafe, Roman, Caroline and Lani could all go and the show would be better.

Regarding writing staff I have not seen anything exciting or killer dialogues with current, writing team and former team, personally I found that Hogan had the best writing staff, the dialogues were so damn good during his time as HW, after he and his entire writing team was sacked, it has been mediocre for the most part. It has not felt fresh and modern, it's mostly boring and hackneyed lines.

I would love to know especially for some of the vets that are
rarely on .

I think I read in a soap mag back in the 90's
that Missy R was making $1,000,000. a year.
I know when Tomlin took over in 2008
salaries were cut by a lot.
Yeah & who pays their salaries? Sony? Corday?

So I can't actually tell you the numbers, but DAYS stars were making obscene amounts of money. This was during the Hogan tenure. Everybody would be shocked at how much some of them were making. Corday was always very generous lol

Remember the discussion about Patsy Pease and some of her BTS issues? Well, this might shed some light on that. (I'm not saying this explains it totally, but there might be some hints here). Very honest and brave blog post from her. I wish her all the best and hope that this is a big step forward in her life.

Im still pretty sure Days is getting their renewal, Im barely worried about it. But just out of curiosity, if they were cancelled rather than renewed. How many months would they have to write an "ending" so to speak? Like to wrap up the show?
We have the differing "last" airdates, so it would be dependent on that. They have about 25 episodes left to tape if we base it on the September 2016 last airdate. If that were the case, pretty much all of the episodes would be fully written (full dialogue) by this week. If we go on the possible March 2017 last air date, then there'd be another 6 months left to write. But, hopefully none of that will matter and we'll get the official renewal announcement soon.
I've heard it's definitely a last tape date. And I believe they were already writing the time period where it would be ending a few weeks before this stop supposedly happened.
FYI...I have now heard differently. Which means I'm now not really sure, lol.

It makes more sense, IMO, for it to be "last tape date". If it was intended to be "last air date", the writers would've been asked to hold the writing well before they got to being days away from starting to shoot September episodes.
If it is "last air date", then I would think that NBC would at least give the show a few months extension in order to wrap up the show. (otherwise the show would need to rewrite & reshoot shows in order to end at some point in September, which wouldn't make any sense.)

It makes more sense to me as a last tape date for a lot of reasons, and I've definitely been told that before. But I've now heard something else, so...be prepared for either option I guess.

We could always simply be optimistic and say that it doesn't matter which it is, because a renewal will happen.

I know this doesn't necessarily mean much since different networks don't always do the same thing, but the last four soaps to be cancelled (2 CBS, 2 ABC) all ended in September.

EDIT: Scratch that: I think OLTL ended in January.

Well at any point in time when they're up for renewal, lol. I've still heard there's no cause for concern.

I thought it made more sense for it to be the last air date because it seemed to me that NBC was paying the license fee for episodes to air in a year (but I need to check the WikiLeaks), not to tape.

I think if they decided to cancel the show and the show was written to the last airdate NBC should extend the contract for whatever they need, not Corday Prod. to rewrite/re-shoot. I mean why should Sony/Corday make pointless investments in case of cancellation?

Good for the actors who worked on Days at that time. :)
