If that's what lysie meant, I could see them having a problem with the breakdown writers because some of Griffith's stories could have been much better if they didn't miss a lot of interesting beats. It feels like some things get lost in translation. There's also all the scenes that get cut, it's weird. |

RH coming to Days would be awful. Watching her on GH all these years has been pure torture. She does play a good bitch though. I don't know how many times I've wanted to jump through my screen and slap her. |

I really don't think there is a cause for concern. Serial Scoop will not be reporting on this :) |

Right and, really, they may want to halt things so they can make any necessary adjustments in response to any changes that need to be made. I am not shocked or worried about this. I always thought this would stretch into February because the ratings for Days have been very inconsistent. This is not like the previous renewal where the show had several resurgent periods. I think the renewal is basically agreed to but they keep going back and forth on numbers in terms of the licensing fee. I think it's a given the fee will get slashed because NBC needs incentive in case Days can't maintain the ratings growth it has shown given it's inconsistent performance over the past 2 years. How much the fee is slashed is the question and how much will dictate what Days has to do budget-wise. That is always the hang up with this and it's more of a hang up now because Days has already cut significantly over the years and likely doesn't want to cut anymore cast or production costs. I bet they will cut from the writing team and will likely cut from the breakdown/script writing groups just as a starting point. As for Herbst, Days wanted her the last time she nearly left GH. I think I remember both Days and Y&R going after her. She would be a great pick up. The writing for her on GH has been horrible for years now. She should just walk away because I feel like Elizabeth could use a rest. I just hope if Days brings her in that she is cast as a character like a Sarah Horton or something. Not some new character that will just flop. |

Personally I would love it she's a great actress who always seems to get crappy writing but, she still manages to pull out some amazing performances. Especially this past year when her scene partner BM has been sleep walking why she does all the work. If she comes to Days I wonder if she could play Chelsea or Stephanie. I know she's a little older but, it seems like Becky hasn't aged in years. |

Im still pretty sure Days is getting their renewal, Im barely worried about it. But just out of curiosity, if they were cancelled rather than renewed. How many months would they have to write an "ending" so to speak? Like to wrap up the show? |

I for one really like Josh. He is no where near the crap writer that Dena and Tomlin are. |

Yeah, the breakdowns and some of the scripts have been a problem for quite a while, so I wouldn't be terribly upset if they brought in some different people. In fact, I thought it was kind of weird that there wasn't more turnover down the ranks when the new headwriters came in because that's what usually happens. The only major downside is that big shakeups like that have the to potential to really mess with the stability of the stories and the show as a whole. Edited by cord08, Feb 8 2016, 04:37 PM.

Well its rumored their contract is to air through September, so unless they wrote a last minute ending, they have already wrote through their contract. |

I think someone mentioned mentioned around March 2017. It would remain on air at least until March. |

I predict a writing team shake-up, not headwriter necessarily. |

I don't think they would bring in any new ones. I'm thinking they may just trim the team down a bit and that could actually help with continuity and such because you have less writers in rotation and the more they do, the more likely it is there is a bit more stability. I've always found it better that way. From 2009-2011, Richard and Carolyn Culliton sometimes wrote 3-4 scripts in a row. I think we got that a bit in 2013 too with Melissa Salmons as well. I found the continuity and flow was much better when you had that than under Higley/Griffith when every day seems to feature a different scriptwriter. |

That's what I was thinking Chelsea or Stephanie. I know BH does have a lot of fans the Liaison vs.Jasam fan wars are always going back & forth. If Days gets her it could bring Days some more viewers since many are already saying they will leave GH & go where Becky goes. |

We have the differing "last" airdates, so it would be dependent on that. They have about 25 episodes left to tape if we base it on the September 2016 last airdate. If that were the case, pretty much all of the episodes would be fully written (full dialogue) by this week. If we go on the possible March 2017 last air date, then there'd be another 6 months left to write. But, hopefully none of that will matter and we'll get the official renewal announcement soon. |

Seriously there only 4 soaps left!! The ratings have been improving and steady despite the crappy SL's courtesy of DH. I have my own issues with DAYS and so do other fans but I don't think anyone wants to see it end. Funny I always though that if one of the soaps was to get cancelled first it would be GH cause it's a serious snoozefest over there and all the fan favorites/ veterans are leaving. NBC has never hesitated to renew DAYS as far as I remember they always got 2-3 year renewals. I wonder what's going on now!? |
