Couldn't they bring Chandler back without making Corday a liar with his "all deaths are final" line? All they would have to do is say that Guy Wilson's Will was an imposter from the time he came back from Los Angeles. Everything viewers felt was completely OOC for Will -- the infidelity, the whining, the insecurity -- could be tossed aside. It seems pretty easy to do.
Hasn't Corday lied repeatedly to the audience, about character deaths in particular? I think he's fine with the title.

Various publications picked up on Ballard's first facebook post. Each article wondering what this is about.
In response, Ballard is making new posts on facebook and twitter, posting links to these articles about his first facebook post. I'm not sure if he's trying to energize the speculation about Chandler; or if he's only enjoying being reported about.

Ballard: I can't comment

Press: Ballard said he can't comment.

Ballard: The press wrote about me saying I can't comment.

Repeating.

And then Ballard: I'm trending!

Someone at DR suggested that idea a while back. It makes the Wilson marriage valid. It's just that Will was kidnapped while he was in LA, and an impostor was sent to Salem.

Just curious: Does anyone know what kind of back-from-the-dead stories Josh has written on other soaps?

If all these characters coming back aren't ghosts, I'm wondering what kind of stories we're in for here. Sigh.

I don't mind somebody coming back from the dead, really. But if Aiden/Will/and Steph are all back from the dead? I call shenanigans!

Congrats to Days of our Lives and Executive Producer Greg Meng on the renewal by NBC for your 51st season!! 👍 However, I've been getting quite a few calls about this -- so for the record -- I can neither confirm nor deny that my former client and good friend, three-time Daytime Emmy Award winning actor Chandler Massey will be returning to his role of Will Horton on Days of our Lives later this year. 😜 I guess you will all have to keep watching!!

^ Ballard's facebook post from Feb 11th.
This is the original facebook post that started the current round of speculation.
He refers to Chandler as "my former client and good friend"

One Life to Live.

Al Holden - Michael McBain.

Al Holden's spirit was stuck after Al died. He hung around communicating with the woman he loved. Only she could see/hear him. Eventually an angel arranged for Al's spirit to inhabit the body of someone who was dying (Michael). Michael's body came back to life, with Michael's mind but Al's spirit. Eventually Michael's mind fell in love with the same woman. So then Al's spirit knew she'd be okay, and he left into the hereafter.

Much more complicated than that, but that's a summary.
I just re-watched most of it a few months ago, when the actor who played both roles died (Nathaniel Marston.) I stayed up all night and watched it all.

It was actually quite awesome.

Everyone is saying Higley is doing the Daniel-into Brady's heart thing. But it reminds me of Josh's idea for OLTL. Yet the Daniel/Brady thing is being written terribly (so far) ... we'll see.

I think the OLTL Al/Michael story worked because it was about love and transformation. The subplot was that the character Michael who almost died was a selfish jerk. But having Al's spirit inside him helped to open his heart, and he changed into a better man.

It was primarily a love story between the man(men) and the woman. And she was overweight but loved just as she was.

This wasn't a dark ghost story. This was a love story.

I'm still not convinced Deimos wasn't working with Stefano or Andre. Deimos handling Bo and the DiMera's handling Hope with Aiden
That was my belief. Maybe Stefano had a debt to Deimos. But then Thaao recently said he hasn't worked with Vincent. You would think if Deimos/Stefano are tied in through Aiden/Bo that Vincent and Thaao would have shared scenes to "continue the story."

I am really hoping the Malcolm scenes air later this month (re: IMDB) because I want to know who killed Malcolm. IMO, whoever killed Malcolm was behind the kidnapping or working for the person behind the kidnapping (I think) and hopefully that reveal will make the source clear finally (be it Stefano or Deimos or... IDK).
I don't believe Thaao lol. He could be covering.

I also think Deimos may have used winterthorne to get people to capture Bo. So odd they're bringing John in the Deimos thing. That seems the likely connection.
I wonder if Bo's kidnapping was originally going to be connected to the land that Abby was supposed to inherit in Ireland. The "Abby's land" storyline began when TomSell were still headwriters, but the land was mentioned a few times even after the new writers took over. But then the "Abby's land" storyline was dropped, and Andre started pushing Chad to dump Abby and get close to Belle in order to find where Sami had hidden the DiMeras' money.

Maybe the land in Ireland had a plant or flower that could be used to make the drug that cured Caroline. If so, maybe the storyline was going to be that Stefano kidnapped Bo in order to get the specific formula for the drug. And then Stefano could've used the flowers/plants on Abby's land to make the drug. But at some point, the storyline took a turn, and then Deimos (and not Stefano) became the villain who was obsessed with the drug.

FWIW I see Fran, Freddie, Vincent, Arianne, Peggy.

I'm confused by Jeff Ballard. Why spoil that Chandler is back? Maybe he's just trying to get him re-hired.

I think they shouldn't have killed all these characters but if somehow Aiden, Will and Stefano are all alive, it will be really stupid.

Almost Alpha

Speculating as I'm typing....

All speculation....

If Will is not dead and back and Aiden is not dead and back and Stefano is not dead and coming back and of course we know EJ's not really most sincerely dead and The Sween's return (whether permanent or visiting) has been speculated....was the whole 50th "event" someone's nightmare/daydream like Bobby's dream from Dallas?

And Corday's "anyone dead after this point is dead for real" was some type of red herring?

And if all these people can return, GIVE ME MY XANDER.

Again....all speculation.

ETA: And what if Bo's not really dead and he's still in prison and this is his nightmare?

I feel like OLTL hadn't done many true back from the dead stories, in general. I know there was Sarah (at Bo & Cassie's wedding) and Tina (at Cord & Kate's wedding), and Mitch Laurence as well as Carlo Hesser (super villains). None of those were Josh Griffith. Well, Josh was a associate head-writer during Sarah's return (Michael Malone was the head writer). It was a generic kidnapping story (and they killed her off again in a car accident the following year). Crazy Alex found her and brought her back because [Alex] was in love with Bo and she thought [Bo] would be indebted to her for bringing back Sarah [on his wedding day to Cassie].

Al/Michael = kinda but kinda not a true back from the dead. Michael Malone was head-writing the show at the time too along with Josh Griffith.

That's how you do PR for yourself these days? Sad.
Whether his former client CM is back at Days or not it's not for JB to announce. He's probably short on clients lately and wants to attract attention.

I think you are one of the bravest men I have ever known, and I am exquisitely proud of you.

Has there ever been a story or stories where a character's past, something they've done or that has happened to them, where a certain time period of their story has been forgotten? Explained that it didn't really happen? On soaps or in TV general? I'm just curious how they'd possibly deal with for example Will coming back.

All these returns... I'm a little bit scared. Their contract cast is already huge. Well, some of them are probably short-term but still. How will they handle this? They have to go down to traditional 30-32 or so. Or are everyone's guarantees and rates so low that they can afford such a big cast?
Who would they fire if they had to make some cuts? Newbies? Vets? Established characters but still not vets?
