hat worries is the crap that's playing now hurting any thought of a renewal
Luckily for them, somehow and someway this crap is getting them the best stretch of ratings they've had in a very long time. I don't know how long that will last for but for the time being. I doubt anybody at NBC is paying attention to the quality of the actual show.
sad isn't it?

Unfortunately, advertisers care about how many viewers watch their ads, not about the quality of the show.

I really don't think there is a cause for concern. Serial Scoop will not be reporting on this :)

Interestingly, Serial Scoop *is* reporting the DaytimeConfidential piece about Rebecca Herbst,
with the comment "stay tuned".

What worries is the crap that's playing now hurting any thought of a renewal
Probably not. The ratings aren't bad anyway. What probably hurts them is the fact that there was some headwriter turmoil in the first place. Doesn't bode well for stability.

I just looked, viewership is the lowest of any soap...ratings lowest of any soap.

? I don't pay a lot of attention to the ratings but haven't they been pretty
much up & down since the fall? There seems to be a lack of consistency .

Right. I look at viewership constantly. This is not news to me. That's not actually relevant information. Ranking means nothing in a world of four soaps. The actual numbers aren't bad right now.

Lowest-rated, but improving. Since March 2014, the overall households had been declining from 2.0's to 1.9's to 1.8's to 1.7's to even some 1.6's. Since September, they haven't gotten below a 1.8. And during the important 4 weeks of November sweeps, they had at least a 2.0 every week.

As for being in last place, that's the spot "Days" has been in consistently since August 2013. They finally broke out of last place the week of 10/26, when they placed 3rd for the week.

It feels like the show will continue, the unknown is how bad it will look if the budget is trimmed once again.
If we had to loose some characters who would you pick?
I wouldn't be sad to lose Rafe, Brady and Theresa, I'm tired of these characters. What do they bring to the table, really?
I've been wanting Rafe to leave for years.

Low ratings
Bad s/l

isn't good...but I called this back when the put Higley

It was like the good news TomSell out....the bad news Higley in

It doesn't. The actual numbers are what matters. Not their rankings. Not their rankings in ratings. Not their rankings in viewership. Need proof? The last two soaps that were cancelled were not last in rankings in either of those categories. That's not the relevant information gathered from the ratings.

I guess I just expect more, and if they could get some kind of s/l off the ground, the might have a chance

But,

no current s/l is really working...

I love Thrady but the haunting of Dan's heart is just nasty
Chabby is just doomed and we know it, therefore that s/l isn't staying afloat, IMO
Rope...there are no words but it could be worse it could be
Steve/Kayla/&Ava
IMO, the teen story sucks, I hoped for more and got less.
Demos is being underplayed when it should be front and center, it might be the saving grace...but instead it's Rope, Steve's Rape Story, & Dan's heart to heart... I just don't see any joy in whoville.

I thought the situation stabilized after Dena's LOA. Apparently not.

Yes, but if you look at things historically, this was the first time "Days" had at least a 2.0 for households for all 4 weeks of November sweeps since November 2009. So, that's a nice step in the right direction, even though it's still last place.

Well technically as far as we know, she's still on that leave.

There's a lot that looks bad. That just happens to be something that doesn't matter. Today sucked. It's sucked for weeks. Days' rankings still don't matter.

something matters and I've seen lots of shows canceled for this...lots

My beloved show...and you can guess what that is was once tried to be canceled for lack of viewership, they truly believed no one was watching...the viewers got outside the main building wrapped around it, stood in big lines raising hell...of course we know how that turned out.

Does someone (that is not her) want her back? Or maybe she has a clause that she can be fired (contract not extended) only if the ratings go down to a specific point?
