I don't think so? It's been almost a month since he's been back onscreen. Ridiculous. |

No. Not yet. But BB tweeted earlier in the week that a Hope/Shawn scene was coming soon. |

I wanted to comment about the script writers. Danielle Paige wrote today, and I've really liked her so far. However, idk that any scripts have really stood out to me much since the fall. And that might be a good thing. When TomSell were still around it was relatively easy to guess who wrote which script. Now, I can't guess. I can't guess who writes the good ones or who writes the bad ones. That's actually a good thing I think. Idk that there have really been any particularly good ones since November, but even as bad as the stories are, it does seem like there might be some more consistency within the team. |

I would agree. I really hope they keep Danielle Paige. Her dialogue doesn't ever seem to rely on the same lazy, conventional soap dialogue. I mean, her scripts aren't exceptional but I do feel she tries to put different twists and turns on things and I always feel as though her scripts are more contemporary. |

Today's show had a bad beginning and ending. Why was it necessary to replay the entire Steve/Ava puke fest? It was only the other day not days or weeks since that happened. I doubt anyone needed a refresher on it. The fire was stupid. Let's all just stand around in this smoke filled room, okay? John and Marlena were good, but how strange that only now was John telling Marlena about that box and what happened in N.O. It was like the writers said, "Oh shit, we forgot about John and Marlena, we better write something and throw it in somewhere." |

Not yet. Just skimmed through the logs... Only people in his scenes so far have been: Belle, Claire, Philip, Roman, JJ, Rafe, Lani and Fynn, plus Andre lurking and Theo/Eduardo/Gabi/Kate/Deimos in background. Marlena in 1 scene at townhouse, but forget if she was gone by the time Shawn showed up. |

I just finished watching today's episode. . . what did Hope mouth to Andre in the monitor? I couldn't tell what she was saying? |

Another random comment but I'm waiting for someone, lol. I don't think it's fair to compare Days or daytime soap writing to other television mediums. They're schedules and expectations are just so different. But. Someone mentioned me tweeting about Downton Abbey today. Now...I know some people would disagree, but I'm not really here to debate Downton Abbey. However, for me, it's one of the only shows I've ever watched where nearly every character is at the core, a good person. They do horrible, dreadful things sometimes, but they still seem human to me. This, IMO, is where days screws up big time. They're capable of doing it, but they often don't even try. Currently, Hope and Rafe are the most obvious victims of this. But nearly every hero or heroine has been through it. Hope could have killed Stefano, and heck...there's probably a way they could have covered it up and framed Andre and still not be made to look as despicable as they do. Higley banked on us just loving Hope and not caring if her actions could really be supported. As annoying as it is with the heroes, they regularly do it with villains and then expect us to just forget and move on. If they'd make them real people with moral centers and legit motivations, they could take these characters much farther, IMO. I've said before that I don't really think there are actions that are out of character. But there are reactions and motivations that can be out of character. "OOC" actions are what drive story. If everyone did everything perfectly all the time and always acted within certain limits, they wouldn't get to do much. I think as long as we see where a character is coming from (and it makes some sense), they ought to be able to do anything and not be destroyed. That's something Dena doesn't get. I hope Griffith does. |

This is very well said. And I agree that something doesn't have to be out of character. For me, if you show me why a character does what they do. Show me the buildup. Give them a reasonable motivation and play the beats of the fallout as it suits that character...then it's fine. It's all about taking the audience on a journey. You have to actually show us and play out how a character goes from point A to point F. Soaps air 5 days a week, all year round. That gives them the luxury of more time to focus on character development so there is really no excuse for not playing the beats and showing us the true scope of a character's journey. Even if they want to operate under a quicker pace, they can still do it effectively. Dena just sucks at it. |

The way they've set it up, I think they really have to play out both tracks now. |

The best part about this episode was the music when the fire started. |

No cuts really mentioned in the recap but I don't think John told Marlena he'd think about it after she said didn't want him to go get the bad guys. They discussed it but I don't think that was said. |

I agree. I still think Kayla's going to find out in the worst way possible, so her initial reaction is going to be based on that (as well as on the fact that Steve lied). But in a way I think that's the set-up for Steve having no choice but to open up and tell Kayla what really happened. And then I think the other side of this gets played. |
