I'm thinking whatever it is next week was the straw that broke the camel's back for Dena. It is pretty clear that we are getting to the end of her run and more and more Griffith is becoming obvious in the writing. As bad as things are (including Steve/Ava), I do feel like there had to be something really bad that happened and that may be what we get.
You may be right about it being what ultimately got her tossed. I just can't imagine what could be worse than what we've already gotten thus far. :shithitfan:

Back to renewal: Yay for Days! :)
They (TPTB) could have made changes if they thought it (whatever it is) was so horrible. Dena alone couldn't have done anything Corday, NBC didn't want. HWs aren't working in a vacuum.

It's probably something horrible for us, fans.

Looking at spoilers for next week, I tried to narrow down what could be so "terrible."

Something involving Chase. Spoilers says Andre manipulates a distraught Chase. Maybe Chase does something terrible to Ciara or Theo.

Something to do with the plan Hope and Rafe carry out against Andre.

Maybe the secret Claire finds out about Belle is considered terrible.

Eric's devastating news that leads him to seek comfort from Jennifer. Not sure, though, that it would be considered "terrible" since we kind of already know what's happening to him. Although I wonder if Jennifer and Eric are both under the influence and wind up doing something, and the next morning it's considered something it's not?

Kayla receiving a shocking message from Ava. Maybe Ava is pregnant?

The show may be a little crappy (in my opinion) right now, but I'd hate to see it go. So yay for good news!

I'm so intrigued on what could be worse that happens next week than Steve sleeping with Ava.
I think the worst thing to happen would be killing off a character played by a vet.

I was thinking that too. But there's no one leaving this soon right?

Corday is in and out. He steps in for anniversaries and when things get to the worst possible point and then he goes back to vacationing and golfing. That is why the show usually goes downhill for a very long time before he steps in. NBC could care less if what is going on pisses off fans as long as ratings are up and the show is making money and that is happening right now, despite the bad stories, so you can't go by that.

This is why I wish Corday would pass creative control to Meng or Alarr. Let them make writer decisions. They are always there but have to say over decisions like that. They end up having to deliver hiring and firing decisions but aren't allowed to make those decisions. Corday should just sign the checks and let the other producers handle it because the decisions would be made alot quicker if that were the case.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep

But it's very rational from their POV ;) .

I don't take fiction very seriously. For me a really bad thing would be firing an actor/actors, not some storyline-related decisions.

And here I was annoyed that next week Chad & Abby are back to their repetitive battle stations with Andre & JJ but now I'm okay with it if it keeps them safe from "something worse then Steve's rape."

Apparently it doesn't have to do with a specific couple. So I think that maybe rules out S/K, J/M, and T/B.

So is that the tweet that got us worried?

[twitter=lysie1984/status/697883106674503681]

Someone replied: "I'll throw up if Higley's back" and lysie replied: "you might throw up anyway."
She also added: "nothing couple specific. No worries."

It doesn't sound like it's about a spoiler, more about BTS changes? But I don't know.

They have had renewal deals like that before.

Most shows (daytime and primetime) get renewed like this anyway. I don't expect to ever see a multi-year renewal again, no matter how good the ratings are. I think it motivates shows more to do it this way.

I think B&B gets one year renewals as well.
