That promo is gross and not just because of the voiceover.

I know this won't be a popular opinion but I'll say it anyway because disliking posts make me feel passive aggressive but I don't really need or want to see Kayla help Steve through this "ordeal". I didn't consider it rape but I'd be fine if the show plays it that way, however, I do think there's lots of room here for Kayla to react to Steve's actions regardless of whether she believes he was raped. Especially in light of Joey being angry at Steve and that I thought they were pretty much on different wavelengths before Kayla's abduction, I'd expect this to exacerbate the issues in their relationship rather than bring them together. At least for a little while.

Also, given that Kayla's seeing Steve and Ava in bed and it looks consensual I think it's a bit of a rob to not play out her feelings towards him being with another woman. Even if she intellectually recognizes it's rape, emotionally it would still be a sting. (Sort of like Brady in regards to Eric/Kristen, but obviously on a less violent and vulgar scale since Kayla isn't a violent asshat.)
I want Kayla to play out her feelings. I like that they show her tears in the promo because of course this has to hurt. I'll be very happy if the writers play all the beats for Kayla and Steve dealing with this. But I hope over time, Kayla helps Steve thru this because I do think of this as an ordeal for him. I don't want this to be a 'break-up' moment because to me, it's not. He didn't want to sleep with Ava. He wanted Kayla safe.

Of course, I'd like it better if they'd showed Steve exhausting all possibilities on camera, but in the end, Ava had Kayla, and Steve wanted Kayla safe whatever the cost. If I thought for one second, he wanted that, I'd feel different, but throughout, I never once felt Steve wanted Ava sexually.

I'm actually relieved the writers had Ava release Kayla. I thought it was going to be a lie, and she was going to keep him hanging on.

I'm so tired of this story already. It's like this show is only interested in shock value and in getting fans riled up so we all waste our time getting upset. It's not worth it.

Cutting the scene of Steve looking for Kayla was a big mistake for me. They should have at least referenced it.

I don't think they cut it. If they cut it, it would have been Josh/Albert, not Dena which means Dena would have written which I don't buy. I don't think the scene ever existed. The article didn't quote Stephen on that part (that he looks for Kayla) so either the writer misunderstood what Stephen said, or just misunderstood the part about who Steve immediately starts looking for (kid v. Kayla). The same magazine also said that Steve went after Joe to try and explain things after Joe walked in, but there was no sign of that either.

I think they never wrote Steve trying to find Kayla on his own because that's exactly what Dena would do.

I don't remember exactly. After he had chained Ava to the couch, did he go out and then returned? If that's what happened maybe he went looking for Kayla (off-screen)?

He went out to pick up Joey who had called him from the park because he was too drunk to drive.

Ava taped her rape of Steve. I just...fuck it. This feels like a Eric/Kristen reveal redux.

Here is a thing though, if Days is not going by the rape, then its not a rape from the show, even though viewers are feeling its a rape. If Steve does say to Kayla, that he has been forced by Ava to have sex, then its a rape storyline. And it would be a good storyline for them to bond together because Kayla knows how it feels like to be raped. We also have to consider about when Steve and Ava was making love on the couch. If Joey has not walked in on them, they would have went further. Ava did pointed it out to Steve about this...so this is the dent of Steve saying, its a rape to Kayla...
