Someone on twitter PMed me the article about Chandler, it's titled "Back to school". It doesn't sound like he's coming back to Days. But the article doesn't explicitly say that he's not coming back either so I'm not sure.
He says he's in school full time and finishing up his degree, he's glad he's able to focus on that. He's involved in the campus life, joined some clubs. Casey Deidrick and him were roommates until a couple of months ago, they now each have their own place. He had to take the last quarter off because of a couple of job opportunities. He's going to be in a horror movie called "Hide in the Light" and a comedy called "The Standoff". About Days, he's grateful for the training and proud of the work he did. He says Will's coming out was the most meaningful story he got to play and he put everything he had into it. He's sad that Will got murdered and concludes that when you play a role like that, you leave a piece of yourself behind.
Thanks for the report. So it was basically framed as just an update on him?
I have my own copy of the magazine and just read the article. Hugo made an accurate summary. And yes, it's in the "catching up with" section.
Also, the front cover says "Days star reacts to being killed off". And the Table of Contents says "Life After Will". Inside, he specifically says "Now I'm in school full time".

I'm still not 100% convinced that CM won't be back in some capacity. We know that FS is back for an undetermined amount of time, and I wouldn't be surprised if Will shows up as a ghost -- at the very least. They're bringing back so many people from this fall's stories, and I'd be surprised if Will's not included in that mix.

I think it might be Sonny and Laura (GH). Maurice Benard once said he would like to work with Genie Francis.
Good guess! But I was also thinking of Billy & Phyllis on Y&R. The actors might be new, but the characters have been on the show for quite sometime and they never were involved romantically. Oh, Phyllis/Billy!!! Very possible, it wouldn't even surprise me.

Haha! I'm surprised he even responded. He's not really being used at GH, so I guess he wouldn't mind jumping ship too.

You know, the sad thing is, if nothing amounts in this whole "Will is coming back" speculation, it won't be Massey's crappy friend/former P.R. person who gets lit up on social media, but more likely DAYS and days writers will have their mentions in shambles due to some wishy-washy attention seeking tweets. What possessed that man to start this unprofessional game?

The 21 year age difference between SSH and RH, though... I don't see the issue. SSH is beautiful but I don't think there's any age gap that she couldn't play. Plus he's already played Scotty, so that's definitely not a big deal. I feel like Hope could benefit greatly from having someone like Scotty in her life. She just sucks now. Really needs a relationship like that one to fall back on.

Yeah, since he's already played him once before, the age thing wouldn't bother me in this case.
I'm just kind of surprised that he would even respond to a tweet like that about a rival soap. I mean, as far as I know he's still recurring on GH. GH twitter is so messy. :drunk:

Did he think that would goad the show into giving Chandler a better offer? If that's the case, they misjudged that one obviously, cause it backfired.
I just can't reconcile those two personalities in my head - Jeff & Chandler. Who else on soaps had such a visible relationship with a PR person, or even a regular agent, as those two did? I have always thought Jeff seemed like the douche he's being described as, but I'd understand it more if it was purely business. But they both have seemed to go on at length, about how good of "friends" they are. Seemed like Jeff took Chandler around with him all over the place. I guess maybe that was all always just PR too? I dunno.
And again - I blame Jeff directly for not ever letting Chandler do a single bit of press with Freddie. Of the entire list of reasons I can come up with as to why they'd avoid it, none of them are good.
Maybe now that Chandler's well into his 20s and doesn't need a pseudo-parent out in LA anymore, he's dropped the guy.

But if he's not returning (over the next 6 months) and someone like Ballard is misleading the fans on purpose, I need Jason, Michael or someone else who knows stuff to be our hero and tell us. Please :blowkiss:

He hasn't been seen in months on GH. He's basically free to talk about whatever he wants. It doesn't seem like he's in this regime's plans at all.

I listened to part of the podcast just to hear what they had to say about the Becky Herbst stuff and I caught a little bit of the Chandler discussion.
They didn't say why Jeff did that because I don't think they understood that move either. They said that lots of soap people have plans to move on, but are smart enough to not say that directly.

For whatever reason he was never a fav., reminds me of GV who has also always been underappreciated on the 2 soaps that I have seen him on. Rick had chem. with everyone and could make any story/pairing work.

lol he probably thought that because Chandler was so popular in the role and brought the show awards/good publicity then they wouldn't make him leave. Which is insane to me. I understand acting is different, but if I accepted an award based on the work I did at my current job and publically announced I'd be leaving to do something else I preferred to do, I imagine my bosses would feel a bit perturbed with me, especially if I had a groundbreaking project (in this case a whole wedding/marriage) and the success of it banked on my contribution to the project as one of the faces. I'm going to chock Massey announcing that to over-confidence because it boggles the mind till this day.

I would absolutely love it if Rick H. returned to Days! I love him. :) He's underused on GH.
