Abby is supposed to be 10 years older than JJ. They SORASed JJ, and the they SORASed (almost) everyone else except Abby.

Why not do it now?

There isn't any name for it, but I could make up a name
"Adult-Onset-SORAS" (AOSORAS).

Actually, it is pretty common soap aging. Kids go from kid to 16 one day. Then pretty qickly to 18. Then even quicker to 21. Then they spend about 10 years from 21-25.

My main argument against a major SORASing for Abby at this point would be that the show desperately needs her in the 20-something set. Her and Gabi are essentially the only 20-something females on the canvas right now. If you bump her up to the 30-something crowd, then you have Belle, Abby, Theresa, Lani, and soon to be Chloe in that age bracket. Granted, I don't know how old the show wants us to think Theresa and Lani are, but since they interact with the 30-something set, that's the bracket I'd put them in.

I really think RH can pull it off as Abby. Liz and Abby characters aren't that far in age and RH looks young enough to play Abby. Age really doesn't matter. IMO

When Martha M took over as Belle in the first place, she looked a bit older for the role, but in time, fans got use to her "Belle" so I think it could work, just a matter of getting use to her in that role.

Well yeah that's my argument. If They could SORAS Belle and Brady than why not Abby? She's meant to be the same age as Brady and older than Belle. And if you think about it Abigail was actually de-SORASed when she came back in 2011. Plus she's 10 whole years older than JJ.

I had the same issue many are having when MM took over as Belle and EM as Brady. But to be fair there is a bigger age gap between Becky Herbst and Kate Mansi than Martha Madison and Kirsten Storms. Plus Becky's always been known to play a mature character/ mother of 3 kids. MM didn't have all that baggage when she took over as Belle.

Agree but I imagine most are hoping she'll retain the same love interest ( character and actor) and want baby Thomas to remain in babyhood not be almost the same age as Johnny Dimera.

So it might be a bit too late to Soras her to a more correct age.

For me, the difference between MM taking over as Belle and BH coming on as Abby is that MM could pass as Deidre Hall's daughter. They're are 30 years apart so it didn't bother me as much, even though she did loook a lot older than KS. But BH and MR look like sisters. Becky may look younger but, like you, I'm used to her playing a mother of 3 for many years, so it will be very hard to accept her as a 20-something.

If they plan on aging a character for Becky, I would much prefer it being Stephanie than Abby. I'll still have a hard time with it, but it will be easier to accept SN/MBE playing her parents than MR/MA.

SOME fans might have gotten used to MM's Belle, but I never enjoyed her in the role. And I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one. Just because SORASing is common doesn't mean it's good. Can daytime writers not be creative and build story with those already on the canvas. I wasn't a fan of the teen set SORASing from this fall either. Still not impressed.

I still hate that Claire and Ciara are 15/16 I'd much rather see Lauren Boles and Alina Foley (2008, Claire) running Around Salem as sassy 11/12 yr olds.

For some reason soaps rarely show kids in this age bracket anymore.

where can i find these pictures as i went on to instagram but i cant find the picture Dang, did you see the one where he cut his own hair 19w ago? Shaved the sides into a mohawk look. I wonder how Days took that when he came back to set. Should be seeing it onscreen in a few weeks, Ive noticed instagram is about 22 weeks behind what we see on-air. Do they have to ask permission for drastic hair changes?

To me it's whether RH can look young enough to play Abby. That there is an issue that MR is 48 and RH is 38 is ridiculous to me. RH looks young enough to play her daughter IMO. Missy looks good but she looks her age, pushing 50. I remember watching Y&R in the mid-90's thinking how in the world does Nikki (MTS) have these two kids in the age ranges of 18-23 when she looked like she was in her 30's. It worked though. It's not uncommon that onscreen parents are not that much older than their onscreen children.

Is Lauren Koslow like 7 years older than Lisa Rinna?

Same as Tanya Boyd and Renee Jones, they were also less than 10 years in age....both of those mother/daughter pairings worked perfectly on screen.

MR and RH could totally pull off mother and daughter.
I had a problem with Koslow and Rinna as mother and daughter.

If RH joins Days I'd prefer her not be a Brady or a Horton as it really limits her pairings. She can't be related to half the town. Although there is one character I'd make an exception for.
I feel the same way. I don't want an Abby recast.

I'd rather Abby leave, but with an opening so KM could always come back as Abby down the road.

The last kids I remember in the age bracket was Abby or Will. Is that about right? and that was probably 2003ish?

Well, I think Ciara and Chase were right around that age before they SORASed them.

To be honest, even though I'm not a fan of VJ right now, I still don't mind that Ciara was aged. LB was more engaging, but there was definitely a limit to what they could do story-wise with Lauren in the role. My main problem with the current teen stories is that the script writers cannot write believable dialogue for them most of the time. It's just sad.

THIS!

Just basing it on how they look (age-wise), RH & KM look more like peers than MM & KS. I was totally against MM as Belle at first, because she looked at least 15 years older than KS. Eventually, MM won me over with her acting, and they started dressing & styling her better.

I adore both KM & SH, and would be thrilled with RH taking over for either one of them.

I will never get used to MM as Belle.
But I do agree that BH would be a good fit as Abby. The only reason BH looks likes she's in her mid to late 30s is because of her hair color. If she went lighter, she'd look MANY years younger. She has such a doll-face, she's very soft and easy on the eyes.

FYI ... If you you see a "number of days or weeks ago" on an instagram,
just hold your mouse cursor over the number of days/weeks,
and it will display the exact date the photo was uploaded to instagram.

I found two different shaved-sides haircut photos.
One is more gentle (26 weeks ago) (Aug 16, 2015)
The other is more drastic (19 weeks ago) (Sept 30, 2015)

I'll post one here and one in the following post:

This one seems to be a black-and-white image of him wearing a hat and sunglasses,

BUT ... go to the instagram link and click on the arrow, it's a VIDEO.

In the video, he takes off his hat and reveals the more drastic haircut.

In the audio, he says:
Hey you guys
so I'm in Texas
umm
(pauses to take drag on cigarette)
Visiting some family.
Decided to cut my own hair.
(takes off his hat)
So, uh, that's that right there.
