Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
It's a guess based on the changes in writing style we see on our screens around the 13th week since Griffith/Higley started (right now it's the second time it is happening). The first shift (ie different characters/stories featured, returns, different pace) happened around the end of November.
If I had to guess when the shift happened, I would think it was later than that.
December 8: Bye Ben (Griffith takes a step back)
December 9: Hello Ava (Higley is in charge)
Time for Corday to announce another plan to "save" the show -- haha! DAYS 12.0 Things have gotten really bad....

Might be, but it is also possible that there's some kind of a transitional period. For example, the first Co-HW does first 3 months (=13 weeks or whatever). 1-2 weeks before he/she finishes and 1-2 weeks after the second Co-HW starts they work together.

All of this is a speculation though. I kinda have a similar working experience, it works well if you know and trust the person you're working with and you both have a somewhat similar working/writing styles. And still you have to communicate a lot before you start and in the process of it.

Their ratings aren't that bad so far. Let's wait till March-April.

I can't believe I'm saying this but if I had to choose between Ben and Ava... I'd want Ben back, lol

PS....thanks JASON for the picture!

Let's see what's supposed to happen today:

Ava returns to Salem, while Steve struggles to keep the truth from Kayla.
Claire learns a shocking secret about Belle.

DISCUSS!
Is that Lane Davis on the left?

Lol, my first thought when I saw the pic was, what is Mason doing on Days? Then I remember he played a character named Evan something. I don't remember what he did though.

I remember he played a character named Evan something. I don't remember what he did though.

Evan Whyland was a doctor at Salem University Hospital. He was romantically linked to Sandy Horton and was originally believed to be Sarah Horton's biological father until it was revealed that Neil had been Maggie's sperm donor.
http://ultimatesoapfan.wikia.com/wiki/Lane_Davies

----------------------------------------------------

In 1981 Maggie agreed to be a surrogate mother for an anonymous donor. Maggie went to Neil and agreed to be inseminated. Neil preformed the procedure, and Maggie soon became pregnant. Later that year Dr. Evan Whyland came to Salem and Neil knew he was the anonymous donor of Maggie's. When Evan learned about this he began to call on Maggie often.

Mickey learned that the baby she was carrying was Evan Whyland's, and even when he told Maggie she wanted to keep the baby, so Mickey agreed to love it as it was his daughter. In late 1981 Sarah Horton was born, and after a custody battle with Evan Whyland, Mickey and Maggie won custody of Sarah. Later Mickey and Maggie also got custody of Melissa Anderson.

In 1982 Evan often paid visits to Maggie and little Sarah, and Stefano suspected Maggie knew of Evan's evidence against him and tried to have Maggie killed by tampering with the breaks in her car.

Mickey and Don began to investigate Stefano after Evan Whyland had died, and when Mickey got to close to Stefano, Stefano kidnapped Mickey but made it appear that he had died in a car crash. Don began to spend time with Maggie, and eventually fell in love with her. When Don finally told Maggie she was speechless.

------------------------------------------------

Sarah is the biological child of Maggie Horton. Originally, Maggie had decided to be a surrogate mother and was to give Sarah to her biological father and his wife when she was born, but she decided to keep the baby. This prompted Evan Whyland to come forth as the father and demand the baby, but when the truth was uncovered that his wife was really dead, Maggie and Mickey won custody. Evan wasn't ready to give up though, and while driving Maggie around one night, the car crashed (turned out to be Stefano DiMera's work), and while Maggie survived, Evan died. This left Sarah to be raised by Mickey and Maggie, along with Melissa Philips Anderson (later Horton), who they adopted after her mother, Linda, virtually abandoned her. Later, Sarah got a chance to meet Janice, who was almost her adoptive sister, if her mother hadn't reclaimed her. Janice soon died, and her other sister, Melissa, soon got involved with Jack Deveraux, who ran against Mickey for political office. Unfortunately, Sarah was hit by a car that was driven by a drunken Eve Donovan. Luckily, Sarah survived

I think Higley's influence/writing might have started earlier - with Bo's ghost appearing to Hope and demanding revenge.

IMO, the revenge story stemmed from him. It was just mostly written by her therefore it turning into the almost fluffy weirdness of Jan-Feb. I think it was JG to have Hope lose it.

Has anyone at all heard a rumor that none of this Andre/Hope/Rafe stuff has happened that it is ALL in Hope's mind because she has already lost it and is in a mental hospital..or something to that effect?

If they could pull that off, that would be awesome. Would be hard to do with Andre involved.

Steve tells Kayla is over. She said to him what happened when she was gone.

Ciara is with Theo T HYS. Hope calls Ciara to know where she is . She's fine but she wants to find Chase.

Chase tells Andre for what his father did.

Rafe shows a gun to Chad and says this is Bo Brady's gun and was stolen at Hope's house.

Rafe picked up the status that has blood behind it and Chad said Andre told him that Hope killed the father.
