One thing I will say is that the greenness of the actors really kind of showed in the actual scene because the spoken parts were really....not well acted, though the actual camera shots and angles were good. I didn't get fear until they did a close up of her eyes, VJ sounded like she was saying no to dinner and Jonathan sounded bored. But what the heck, she's robotic as hell acting but I have a soft spot for VJ so i'm rooting for her to get it together and I like her with Theo (Thiara :wub2: ) even though they kind of sounded like they were reading their lines from a paper.

I felt like she hated herself for a multitude of reasons during that scene. |

So Andre is the Dear Abby of villainy? If he didn't want Chase to do something vicious to Ciara, why is he bothering? I don't get his motivation at all. |

I think his motivation was that he was using Chase's ... feelings for Ciara to get Chase to stay in town. When Andre found Chase in the park after the fire, he was getting ready to leave town. I think Andre wanted to use Chase against Hope and Rafe in some way and he couldn't do that if he left town. So, he takes him in, tells him it's okay to think about his father and that he shouldn't give up on Ciara but should "fight" to make her love him, that Ciara was attracted to him, etc. I don't think his intention was to make Chase rape Ciara. It was to make him stay in town because of Ciara so that Andre could continue to manipulate him. Maybe to spy on Hope, maybe to use him in some other way. And he was using Chase's feelings for Ciara to do it. |

I will say, there's something about doing this with a character like Ciara that makes this automatically deeper. I think the comparisons with Sami are pretty basic, but Ciara had more of a personality as a child than Sami did and more of her own identity. That alone makes this more of a moment where as an audience member, I want to rip Chase's head off and feed it to a pack of wolves. I typed this four hours ago and apparently didn't hit reply. Unless I did. In which case, sorry for the repost. |

I think he wants Chase and Ciara together so he can use Chase to "get to" Hope for revenge purposes somehow. |

I think he was thinking that he could get Chase to kill Hope (or all of them) eventually like he got Aiden to IF [Hope] stood in the way of [Chase] getting Ciara (or if Ciara rejected him). Build him up to tear them down as [Andre] knows he's heading [Chase] into a direction where [Chase] will fail and be further vulnerable to doing dark things to Hope (and her family). |

I disagree. I think if the network had something that was a guaranteed money making show they would dump Days in a heartbeat, and put it on the air. I don't think they have any kind of loyalty to Days of Our Lives at all. I think they're sticking with it because they're relatively sure of the money it will continue to make, not because they have any desire to keep the genre alive. ABC thought they were going to hit pay dirt by bringing on a food network type show, and had no compunction about dumping a long running soap from its daytime line-up once they had The Chew ready to go. I think if NBC thought they had a sure fire hit, they'd do the same thing. I haven't looked into it, but I don't think The Chew has done what ABC wanted it to do, so that might be why NBC hasn't jumped on that bandwagon. Once they get rid of DAYS there's no going back, so maybe they're tentative on taking that risk. |

Yea, I still don't see why he would bother using some kid to get to Hope. Just like how it was pointless to brainwash Chad to get Belle to reveal where the money was. I think the writers are just using the Stefano murder plot to drive other stories for other characters, i.e. lazy writing. Edited by Rosebud, Feb 18 2016, 12:03 AM.

I also could see that she did shoot Stefano but she cracked up after that and what Rafe is doing is just in Hope's head...it would be a way to save Hope and Rafe. |

I calls it like I sees it in my family. Been called a traitor a number of times for doing it but I don't really give a rip. I'm not going to play along when the Emperor is naked. |

I definitely agree with that, but it also means that the show has to be very careful in how it handles the aftermath and fallout of the rape. I guess from some spoilers the show will use Marlena for counseling when Hope learns what happened, but this is a time that I really wish they could incorporate Kim into a storyline. You would think that, knowing Ciara's aunt has spent decades counseling child victims of abuse, particularly sexual abuse, and also suffered sexual abuse by a relative, someone in the family might think to give Kim a call. |

It would be hilarious that her head would be so busy making imaginary Rafe be so infatuated with her :D |

Apparently in order to become Chase's friend, you give him food. Chase and I have this in common. |

Belle isn't a horrible mother to Claire. She deserves respect. Claire calling her a whore was uncalled for. |
