Quoting limited to 3 levels deep "I like Chase, Ciara deserved it" made me want to stab him verbally with a pitchfork in his eyes, but other than that... at least people are reacting when they see it happen. Outrage is the right response to anyone being violated. And hopefully DAYS follows up with a responsible storyline.
HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER!?!?

Did someone here say that?
No, someone on Facebook. I've never seen anyone here be anywhere near THAT insane.
Victim shaming is not a form of insanity.

I watched the rape scene and it struck me how young Chase looks..really really young. A desperate kid who felt he was losing everything he had left after losing his father did something so horrific that he might never come back from it. I feel so bad for both of them...Yes I feel more for Ciara as she was the victim in this case but I feel some sympathy for Chase too..so shoot me lol

The only way I would feel sorry for Chase is that he never raped Ciara and stopped himself! There was no scene this past Thursday, however, with Ciara crying this past Thursday is lead to believe Chase raped Ciara. What is really sick is, that Chase is step sibling to Ciara! And that grosses me out! Sickest in daytime history! :shithitfan:

I actually love Vivian, but I still think this storyline is terrible.

The age of Ciara makes the assault even more objectionable although who knows what mindset the writers are going to try and give Chase and/or Ciara. Please don't everyone jump down my throat for saying this but stories can be written where the couple ends up together in a "made for each other" way - Look at Ejami. EJ and Sami hardly had what you would call totally honorable beginnings but they had, and still have, a large fan base. Luke and Laura from General Hospital are another couple who started out hating each other with an assault story written into the romance. As much as Days fans may hate it and not want to admit it, Luke and Laura were an even bigger couple than Steve and Kayla and their wedding was the highest rated soap opera episode. Sometimes I think writers give a rape story a slant so that it has a way out to turn "no turned out to be yes" if they couple becomes popular or the pairing takes off. Ciara and Chase, however, are far too young for that.
The notion that some people call Luke and Laura a romance still nauseates me, as do Ejami. Rape is an act of violence.....and no writer, no actor on any show in any genre will convince me otherwise.

I believe this rape storyline, is going to make Vivian shine in her role as Ciara! Many was hesitant about her, disliking her and reminiscing about Lauren Boles as Ciara. Don't forget, Days brought Will to the forefront of being gay and everyone began to love Chandler Massey. The same with Kate Mansi with her role as Abby opposite Austin and then EJ. I DO agree with you about the storyline being terrible! I wished nothing on characters being raped! But this one here, was weird and sickest of all.

I'm about a week behind on my viewing (even though I skim through the recaps) so I just watched the Valentine's (Feb. 12) episode this weekend. Ciara's dream made it seem like the show was setting up a triangle between her, Chase and Theo. Then 3 days later, they have Chase rape Ciara. It makes no sense. The triangle would have been a much more compelling story (not that I really care about the teen's stories) than this, especially when you throw Theo's autism and Claire having a crush on Chase into the mix.

I have no faith in their ability to tell a social issue story but I checked it out on youtube. From a production perspective they did a "good" job with the steady cam to make it feel he was on top of the viewer, I don't get the choice of playing the standard whimsical sexytime music over top of a scene like that though at all.

I wished Days would have went the love triangle route  ....Apparently, Days wants to go in a route there is a social media buzzing about the rape, and the younger viewers are drawn in for the ratings! But the question is, will the younger viewers come to Days and stick with it? I really don't know....
